This game is SOOOOOOOO close to being a recommend for me, the districts system is interesting, the neolithic is fun, and combat has some very interesting and original mechanics. But... I hate fame points as the only victory condition, the game tries to hybridize turns and real time in a way that doesn't work at all, troop actions during combat are disgustingly slow, which units join or don't join in when a battle starts is clunky, and it's difficult to discern which units will be within range of yours from which tiles. As you can see a lot of my gripes are with the combat. I think it has a good base but it feels undercooked, promising but not enjoyable long term as the game currently is. I think that a solution may be in part to reduce the scale of battles somehow. Anyways, maybe you'll like this game, but personally... I *hardly* see myself coming back to it. I don't know if I'll finish the game I've got currently going on.
It is a really cool game.
.
honestly i like the game, its by no means perfect, however it is a nice change of pace from the standard civ playstyle. I personally enjoy the changing nation mechanic but the game can feel a bit unpolished
