Nice variation to the Civ games.
I love the art, the music, the vibe, the UI, the gameplay. I love pretty much every aspect of this game, except for one : the math behind it. Like all other games from Amplitude, it suffers from snowballing too easily and way too hard. Just take the maya and then the khmers and build the wonders in a few turns, or spawn gigantic armies in a blink. When the entire game boils down to a handful of decisions, it all feels pointless. The prehistoric nomad era is great though, I wish more game took inspiration from it. I also enjoy the rush to pick the next civilization. But the balance is awful, I'd spend hundreds of hours on this game if they addressed it in an update (with massive nerfs on most civs and infrastructure). It's still better than civ 7 and most of Amplitude games so I don't feel like giving a negative review. But I don't recommend it until they fix the balance, which is unlikely.
