In my opinion, Horizon Zero Dawn Director Mathijs de Jonge has zero game development experience. He seems skilled at creating extremely unpleasant gameplay experiences by activating cheat codes to suddenly one-shot and kill NPCs whenever he thinks he has the upper hand. I seriously recommend that you report him to the Ministry of Labor to see if you are treating your own Guerrilla Games employees just as unfairly, and I will do whatever it takes to get a refund from Steam for the game I paid for. As a game fan, I advise the director to end his career and resign immediately.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 3: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Woke as heck but otherwise a really good game. I'm thankful for the conversation advance buttons whenever there is male bashing, simp fellows or otherwise "I am woman hear me roar" bs. It's a good game, the story of Aloy is a good one but better without all the overdone men are bad or weak and flawed everywhere. There is one male character in the whole game that's looked at favorably and, well, there's also messaging with that. I MAY buy the next game too, but that depends on the finally of this game. If it stays OVER-woke, so much that it makes the story unbearable, I won't spend my money on that. This game could have been one of the greatest stories ever if it hadn't had all the injected material. Aloy is a strong female character that earned her abilities, run with that, don't undermine it with all the patriarchy garbage. Sure, if it's part of that world that it's totally fine to describe that but strong characters are confident and have bigger things to worry about then that crap. Be strong, be confident, change the world through your actions and be a role model. Don't whine about it to ever freaking other female NPC in the game you meet.
It's impossible to play this 'remastered' game offline. If you start it and have it blocked from connecting, it just shows an endless loading screen with 'Connecting' before you can even get to the menu.
as a diehard horizon fan, i was super happy that they remastered the og game!! The remaster was a great excuse for me to replay :) there was definitely a few issues i ran into, mostly issues loading in terrain and character models in cutscenes, as well as a few other quests having problems functioning. the remaster feels a little rushed considering the bugs and occasional glitchiness i ran into, but it ran great on my computer still!
Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered – Solid to Play, but Somehow Never Quite Clicked As someone who really enjoys open-world games, Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered didn’t quite meet my expectations. It’s not a bad game by any means, but during my playthrough there were several aspects that consistently felt a bit off. I’ll break down my thoughts briefly. First, the story. The opening immediately made it hard for me to fully get immersed. The protagonist grows up being ostracized and discriminated against by their tribe, yet when those same people are in real danger, she still chooses to step in and help. While this fits a classic heroic narrative, I personally didn’t enjoy this almost “turn the other cheek” approach. From my perspective, the character feels overly forgiving toward people who have long looked down on or even mistreated her, which made it difficult for me to build an emotional connection early on. Next, the visuals. A lot of players praise the game’s graphics, and I don’t think that praise is wrong. The natural environments, vegetation, and overall environmental design are genuinely solid and well-executed. However, it never really delivered a strong visual “wow” moment for me. For example, in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, when you first transition into England after the prologue, the sense of scale and the calming natural scenery left a much stronger impression on me. In comparison, Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered looks polished, but it doesn’t quite reach that same level of impact. Overall, it feels more like “very competent” rather than truly breathtaking. Then there’s the pacing and narrative flow. Cinematic storytelling is clearly the standard for modern AAA games, but execution matters more than the approach itself. From the prologue through the early hours, the pacing felt fairly slow and somewhat flat. I didn’t feel a strong narrative hook that kept pushing me forward, and the early-game experience didn’t really pull me into the world in a meaningful way. There are also several smaller design issues that affected the experience. Movement is one of them. The protagonist’s running speed feels a bit slow, and even when sprinting, traversal still takes a noticeable amount of time. In a large open world, that becomes more noticeable, especially before unlocking fast travel. At that stage, it can start to feel like a fairly typical “checkbox-style” open world. Combat and animation also feel a bit stiff. Movements don’t always transition smoothly, and the overall feel lacks natural responsiveness, which makes the moment-to-moment control less satisfying than I expected. The early-game onboarding is also somewhat unclear. Certain systems aren’t explained well, such as how fast travel is unlocked. Combined with long distances, slow movement, and limited travel options early on, this creates a somewhat tiring start. The music, however, is one of the stronger aspects for me. Both the style and timing are well done overall. That said, the frequency of more atmospheric, calm background tracks feels surprisingly low. Considering how much time is spent exploring and traveling across the map, having more ambient, relaxing music during traversal would have significantly improved the experience. Finally, the save system. I’m not a fan of the lack of full manual saving. You need to find campfires to save manually, which can be inconvenient at times. There was one moment where I needed to quit the game suddenly, but I had to go out of my way to reach the nearest campfire just to save. At that point, I also hadn’t unlocked fast travel yet, which made it even more frustrating. Overall, Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered is definitely playable and far from a bad game. But across its story, pacing, character presentation, and several open-world design choices, it rarely fully clicked with me. It feels like one of those games that is “fine overall, but always missing something”—it works, but it doesn’t always feel comfortable to play.
