You play as a child that your family completely forgot about. In fact, your mother is so horny that she needed to be chained and locked up in a basement protected by a poweful royal knight because of her desire to breed. You need to kill your brother because he was a daddy's boy who failed miserably when faced a real threat. It also turns out that your dad cheated on his wife because you meet your half-sister and fight with her a few times because she thought that you were underdeveloped.
After playing the game for a while now, my main file only having Pantheon 5 left, Mr.Mushroom, and some miscellaneous things to finish up, I can say this is still a game worth trying after so much time. Now that Silksong has been out for a while and got the well-deserved hype, Hollow Knight is still something to get a footing in. 112% sounds scary, but by the time you unlock the % dial, you'll have most of the things you need and know what is missing. Platforming, overall, is fun and enjoyable. Mixed with combat that utilizes the environment in a satisfying way. The only time I did not enjoy this game was White Palace, a platforming-only section of Hollow Knight end game. While the first few sections were fine, albeit frustrating, the ending section before *lore* was the only time I really did not want to play the game. Outside of that, this is a 9/10 game. Implied lore that you need to piece together yourself, with the different endings and unique fights, makes this a game I come back to.
