This ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game makes me want to rip my organs out and saw my body in half, it actually might be worse than brawlhalla. This game builds so much rage in me that i cant even describe, i actually would not recommend this game to others at all, i feel so pissed knowing i spent my money on this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game.

I bought this game years ago. I loved all the Dark Souls games, and I enjoyed the art style. I started it multiple times but never got that far. I had never played a Metroidvania before, so I was constantly getting lost and was overwhelmed by the size of the map. Years later, after playing multiple Metroid games, I felt ready to come back to Hollow Knight. I unlocked the map, bought the Wayward Compass charm so I could see myself on it, and started playing. No longer getting lost, I was able to progress and enjoy the game. The art, music, and atmosphere is amazing. I was fully immersed, and was surprised how emotionally invested I was in the world and characters. The controls are incredibly responsive, and while simple at first by the end I felt like I had mastered them. It felt great returning to areas that had destroyed me in the beginning, we now easy to breeze by hours later. The combat is a lot of fun, and while I could beat a lot of bosses first try, there were many that required me to learn their patterns before I could stand a chance. I think it is easy to set limitations upon ourselves when it comes to harder games. I thought I was not good enough to complete a lot of the content, or that I would not have the time to get better. But by allowing ourselves to fail and learn from our mistakes, we can beat those challenges we first thought were impossible. Just like the story of Hollow Knight, we are always capable of more.
