This is the worst Hitman game I've ever played. The whole ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ point of the game is that 47 is wounded and is having flashbacks to his previous assassinations from Codename 47. If you're expecting a proper sequel, there really isn't much of a story here. It feels more like a separate game mode where you're replaying older missions that have been remade. I honestly can't even tell much of a difference between the graphics or gameplay compared to the older Hitman games, at least up until Blood Money and Absolution. I probably should've guessed from the name Hitman: Contracts that this was basically going to be a job simulator rather than a proper sequel. This is one of the most obvious cash grabs I've ever seen. It adds nothing new, isn't a proper sequel, and isn't even that fun when most of the missions come from Codename 47. You can completely skip this game without worrying about missing anything important to the story. If you're playing through the Hitman series for the story, you're not missing anything by skipping it. Overall, I don't recommend it.
