the story and cutscenes are amazing, one of the best hitman games ever
Hitman: Absolution is a bit of a controversial entry in the series, but honestly, taken on its own terms, it’s a really solid stealth-action game with a lot more personality than it often gets credit for. First thing that stands out is the presentation. This game looks great even today in a lot of areas, with strong lighting, detailed environments, and some genuinely cinematic set-pieces. There’s a clear push toward a more story-driven experience, and while that shift divided fans, I found it refreshing to see Agent 47 placed in a more personal, emotional conflict for once. The gameplay still delivers the core Hitman fantasy in many sections. You get plenty of opportunities to plan, observe patterns, use disguises, and eliminate targets in creative ways. When the game opens up, it really shines, and those moments feel very satisfying. The disguise and instinct systems are more streamlined compared to earlier games, which makes the game more accessible. It’s less about pure sandbox freedom and more about guided stealth-action, but that also means the pacing is tighter and more consistently cinematic. The soundtrack and voice acting also deserve credit. There’s a strong noir tone throughout the game, and it does a good job of making each location feel distinct, from grimy streets to high-security compounds. It’s not a perfect Hitman game, and it definitely leans more linear than some fans would like. But as a stealth-action thriller with a strong presentation and memorable moments, it still holds up better than it gets credit for. If you go in expecting a different flavor of Hitman rather than a replacement for Blood Money, there’s actually a lot to enjoy here.
I don't care what anybody says, this is the best Hitman game of all time.
