Tutorial Boss Fight 1 ship vs 3 and 3 AA batteries Tutorials are supposed to ease you into the game learning ♥♥♥♥....not just make you switch the game off lol So many systems that the game maybe wants to teach you them...but you wont survive to get to the next "lesson"
I cannot find the hidden city's, the Immersion is unrivaled on the market today
Frankly amazed that this game even exists. Despite its skeuomorphic and flowery artstyle, it's actually rather barebones and the sandbox isn't as large as one would think. But it is an achievement of a game in terms of concept and game design. This is not a game you can play on "autopilot". It demands your attention practically 100% of the time. Visually the game is beautiful and it wants you to be a little bit lost in its UI and world. It does genuinely emulate being a crew member of an airship without going into the territory of a hardsim game. The world has much military-authentic detail in its visual design. Sandbox vehicle games are not what I usually play. I'm more pureform into vehicle sims. The sandbox here doesn't really have cosmetic options (not even a change color scheme). But the actual functional part of the sandbox is very much there with no "fat". Every item there has a significant gameplay purpose and there are not many blocks compared to some other games. It's actually very simple to get the gist of and the combinatorics are pretty diverse without being pedantic. It's not quite a simulation game pureform for its own world and the game does have a bit of an identity crisis at points. It is MUCH simpler than what first seems but has a lot of emergent depth and a brutal learning curve. While I like the Mothership/Overworld play alot more the diplomacy feels quite tacked on as an afterthought even though its not bad. And the combat is another area of mastery thats worth many test runs in the Shipworks Skirmish test mode to actually get the hang of before you make dumb decisions in the actual campaign. After the prologue the game throws you directly into the fire and goes "figure it out". And you will probably fail most of your runs pretty embarrassingly as you try to finnick your way through the combat. It doesn't ease you into the world and every encounter can give you heavy losses if you are not careful. I hope a sequel comes out one day: there are many things in this game that are halfway there but are the symptoms of a bad codebase becoming too byzantine to work with and with a lack of foresight. Strong recommend, but its not for people who don't have the patience to learn this very weird game system.

The game is difficult. As others have said, it doesn't hold your hand. A LOT is left to trial and error. The controls are a little wonky, but manageable. The "story" is impenetrable. But the guns are satisfying, and any time you fail a mission, or landing, or stage, you can retry it a few times. So progress can be slow at times. Some of the game mechanics feel unnecessary--tuning in radio transmissions by hand. It's like a mini-game, I guess. Music is engaging. Building can be frustrating. Some parts are extremely small and you can't zoom in very far. There are some weapons I can't figure out how to attach. Some rotate, others don't. Again, all of this is without any in-game guidance. I guess YouTube is the tutorial. Overall, I'm enjoying it, and it's worth the 50% off price I paid on sale. I'm not sure how I'd feel at full price, but I'm only a few hours into the campaign. I haven't even touched the ship building mechanics much yet. Overall, I'm glad I bought it. We'll see if it holds up to tens-of-hours of play or if I hit a wall and get frustrated.
Immersive shellshock simulator
