About
At our superhero academy, you'll lead a team of teen heroes to battle supervillains! Will you fulfill your heroic legacy or forge your own path?
Heroes of Tomorrow: Hidden Potential is an interactive superpower novel by Eloy Lasanta, where your choices control the story. It's entirely text-based, 600,000 words and hundreds of choices, without graphics or sound effects, and fueled by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination.
Welcome to Evos Academy! As a member of the next generation of superheroes in a world where comic books record the deeds of real-life heroes, you don’t pass your classes by writing the correct answers on a paper; you do it by defeating a swarm of super-science automatons in front of a stadium full of cheering fans.
Develop your powers, practice working as a team with your classmates, and develop your own distinctive style while you learn from the greatest heroes that Earth has ever seen: valiant Gladiator, super-gadgeteer Gearhead…
…and, oh yeah, your mom.
Hardly anyone knows that you grew up as the sidekick to your mother, the famed hero known as The Cloak, keeping your gritty metropolis safe from the world's worst villains. Some of your classmates are grappling with a legacy of power, too: Paragon's father is the mighty hero Brilliant, and Red Claw's mother is the villain Destroya. Each of you must choose what kind of hero you want to be. Do you want to be like your heroic parents, or do you want to blaze your own trail?
The choices just keep getting harder when it becomes clear that there's more than your average supervillainy going on. Who keeps breaking into Evos Academy's supposedly ultra-secure campus, and why? Why are your powers acting so strangely? What is the voice that whispers to you in your dreams? Why are all the villains' plots suddenly focused on you? And what will you do when you discover that some of your idols aren't so heroic after all?
• Play as male, female, nonbinary, or genderfluid; gay, straight, bi, or asexual.
• Choose your superpowers—elemental control, energy manipulation, super-physique, beast powers, or telekinesis—and customize your super-suit!
• Romance or befriend a demon seeking redemption, a clever thief with a mysterious client, a powerful mage-in-training, or an already-famous heroic icon.
• Protect the city and become the people's hero, or let the world burn!
• Banter with your foes, build super-tech gadgets, or let your fists do the talking!
• Fight alongside—or against—your classmates and mentors in brutally high-powered action battles!
• Battle supervillains that teleport, shapeshift, summon lava from volcanos, and turn the world into a videogame!
• Uncover the secrets that the heroes have been keeping from you about everything—even about yourself!
Can you defeat criminals, cultists, demons, and midterms?

This game was good as a story, but felt bad as a CYOA. The stats system detracted from the CYOA aspects by making the majority of choices in any particular set unviable to actually choose without punishment. Even large, story-defining choices were gated behind this stats system. This, combined with the game giving very few opportunities to significantly improve other stats (and forcing me to decrease particular stats in order to increase others), I was left feeling like my character wasn't becoming any stronger throughout the story, and like I had no agency over my character's own choices and like the ending I got was largely just the result of how lucky I got with the stats I chose to have at the very beginning.
Either this game is extremely poorly written, or the coding is a mess, because it is constantly contradicting itself, making references to things that have never come up before but I am apparently supposed to be familiar with, and even struggles with the PCs gender during intimate scenes (hint: female parts don't tend to involve much thrusting). In one particularly notable encounter with a thief, I somehow went from demanding they return what they stole, to agreeing to let them go free without any terms, to receiving a bag that presumably contained what they stole, to being in trouble for not getting back what they stole. In the end, I have no idea what the game thinks happened, or what I'M supposed to think happened, besides that I've wasted several hours of my life.
A great title hosted by Choice of Games which doesn't fall flat like so many others. The story was entertaining and the choices felt like they actually mattered. I loved the cast of characters in this one as well. My one complaint would be that the game feels biased toward certain stats, especially at the end, and if they aren't the ones you focused on during your play through then good luck...
Superhero CoG games tend to be hit or miss. While we have good stuff like Heroes Rise series and Fallen Hero series, we also have… not so good stuff. So which category Heroes of Tomorrow falls in? Definitely good one in my books. + I appreciated the setting which is kind of like My Hero Academia with touch of The Boys. + It’s fairly long, but very engaging and fun to read. + There are lots of branches which gives the game highly replay value. You can even become the villain. + The story actually achieves resolution and has a proper ending, which you have to be thankful these days.
I suspect the use of generative AI with this game, as even with my short playtime, the game didn't seem to track what was going on - something is off about both the coding and writing in a way I have not seen before. I would not recommend this game.
a fun little game though there were a lot of bugs and tbh the stories that use this game making system are the absolute worse in UI/UX. Unlike Ren'py there isnt an option to save or back up incase there is something i missed. (like hello make a history log? if i read something on one page i wont remember it as a choice pick later down the line when I NEED TO) A history log is a must or a save page hell even a skip would be good for people who go from VN to IFs as an accessibility ease. The story itself was fun tho i ran into some issues like a character choice not reflecting later in the story (character a is there when i didn't pick them to go for example without spoiling) plus it kind of felt like the last bit of the story was complete rng with the attributes/stats picked or if you decide no on a huge character choice from the game that gives u a buff that is talked about the whole game it's like good luck charlie u might not make it. I want to recommend this but the over all ui/ux and story paradoxes make it a bit difficult so i would say this is a 6.5/10 for the characters were fun, there was a lot of info you gathered throughout depending on choices if you played more than once.
For the price of a fancy coffee, I think it's well worth the money. I wasn't overly enamoured by the last game I played from this company: 'Unsupervised' which ended on a cliffhanger, and in spite of them saying it's had additional endings added - I haven't gotten them to work. This is a complete narrative experience with fun superhero stuff in, which if you're looking for that, you will get. I will say, the main antagonist is rather thin, and he's cut from a frankly quite dated cloth (Without spoiling it, there's a recent trope of a certain type of supervillain that is so overdone, I expected it to be subverted here, where it really isn't. In fact, he even resembles a hodgepodge of a few examples of them) Of the two romances I've completed - Paragon and Chameleon, I did have a lot of fun. There's a decent mix of tenderness to enjoy reading and a surprising amount of explicit content in there, but not to the extent that it felt jarring necessarily. It all depends on your preference I should imagine - and on that note, I'm glad the game gave you the option to select the genders of these characters. There are significant time jumps involved in the story, which could have benefited from being spread across another entry perhaps, allowing you more time to get to know your team, or hang out socially with them (especially as teambuilding is central to this games themes) But again, most characters are well fleshed out enough for me to want to see them do well. If you play with a cool head and a rational mind, their reactions make sense, if you play like a chaotic thrillseeker, I imagine things start to spiral. All in all, I'd give it a solid 7/10 experience, and an 8.5/10 on value. Enjoyed it and would like more of it please :)
Should have read the chap ten. It ruin everything. Until the chap ten, i was thinking the story was good, with the recurring theme of gay militantism. Its was correct. And then read the end two day after the last chap. Now the story is the worst i ever read. Its a recurring theme with this publishing company. No story just a bs about the gender sex. For those who wonder its a story construct around gay theme. No choice and only that. I lost my money on this.
This was fun! Choices were interesting and I enjoyed the skill checks. Minor spoiler: My ending was VERY short and abrupt, and did not give me any resolution on DS or the cult, so if I had a do over I would have fought rather than chosen the talking options.
Eh, it's...okay for the price i guess? just kinda boring...at least for me. 6.5/10,超英预制菜,你能想象到的所有刻板印象英雄集合体大乱炖。 Dude seriously??
