About
Heroes of Science and Fiction (formerly known as Silence of the Siren) is a turn-based strategy game where several different space-faring civilizations fight over control of a distant star system. Explore what’s left on the planets and secure resources to build mighty cities. Raise powerful armies and defeat your opponents on the battlefield!
Content in the full game
Heroes of Science and Fiction contains 5 playable factions, four campaigns with 4 levels each and 30+ skirmish maps set in colorful environments.
Each faction brings its own base, 7 upgradeable unit types, a special skill and a set of commanders to choose from. There are 24 skills, 54 active commander abilities and various pieces of equipment, consumables and artifacts.

The Siren star system, birthplace of a galactic alliance, and the homeworld of a lost Primals civilization, has been cut from the rest of the galaxy. As a result, the carefully built alliance split into bickering factions and secluded colonies. These days, hardly anyone pays attention to the ruins scattered all over the few habitable planets of a freshly isolated system. The deeper you venture into the uncharted regions, the stronger the feeling of endangerment grows. There is something else. An entity, a shade, an echo of whispers from below.

Explore what's left on the planets and secure important resources. Use them to upgrade your bases with advanced technology and to hire massive armies. Play as several different factions, recruit skilled commanders, teach them new skills and lead them into battle. Overcome obstacles on the map to gather powerful equipment and ancient artifacts.

Encounter a wide range of enemies in turn-based combat, use your tactical thinking to gain advantage on the battlefield. Learn the unique moves of your units, deploy your commander's special abilities and outsmart even much stronger opponents.

Reviews
Heroes of Science and Fiction is a turn-based strategy title from Oxymoron Games that transports the familiar empire-building formula into a richly imagined science fiction setting. Rather than relying on traditional fantasy kingdoms and mythical creatures, the game presents a galaxy filled with advanced civilizations, mysterious relics, and planets waiting to be explored and conquered. It successfully blends strategic city management, hero progression, and tactical warfare into a cohesive experience that rewards careful planning and long-term decision-making. While its inspirations are easy to recognize, the futuristic setting and unique faction designs give it a personality that distinguishes it from many of its genre peers. The game's structure revolves around exploration, expansion, and conquest. Players command one of five playable factions, each with its own visual identity, specialized units, technologies, and tactical strengths. Exploration is more than simply revealing the map, as hidden resources, abandoned settlements, ancient artifacts, and valuable landmarks all contribute to strengthening an empire. Every campaign encourages players to weigh the risks of rapid expansion against the need to defend existing territories, creating meaningful strategic choices throughout each mission. The inclusion of four story-driven campaigns alongside a generous selection of skirmish maps provides substantial content for both solo players and those who simply enjoy experimenting with different strategies. Combat delivers the depth expected from a modern turn-based strategy game. Battles emphasize positioning, terrain awareness, and the effective use of commander abilities rather than overwhelming opponents with sheer numbers. Heroes gain experience over time, unlocking skills that significantly influence battlefield performance while allowing players to tailor commanders toward different tactical roles. Equipment and artifacts further expand customization, creating opportunities to develop unique combinations that complement each faction's strengths. Since enemy forces vary in composition and behavior, battles rarely feel repetitive, encouraging players to adapt their approach instead of relying on a single winning formula. Presentation is another area where the game performs well. The colorful science fiction aesthetic creates visually diverse battlefields filled with futuristic cities, alien landscapes, and imaginative technology. Unit designs clearly communicate their battlefield roles while maintaining distinct faction identities. The interface organizes a large amount of strategic information into an accessible layout, making city management, hero development, and resource tracking relatively easy to understand despite the game's considerable depth. Complementing the visuals is an atmospheric soundtrack that reinforces both the excitement of exploration and the intensity of large-scale tactical encounters. Replayability is one of the game's greatest strengths. Multiple factions, numerous commanders, different campaign scenarios, and an extensive collection of skirmish maps provide plenty of reasons to return after completing the main story. Multiplayer support through online matches, LAN, local hot seat, and Remote Play Together adds another layer of longevity, allowing players to test their strategic skills against friends or other opponents. Although certain factions or abilities may occasionally feel stronger than others depending on the situation, these balance concerns are relatively minor when compared to the overall quality and variety of the gameplay experience. Heroes of Science and Fiction succeeds in delivering a compelling evolution of the classic turn-based strategy formula by replacing fantasy with an engaging interstellar setting while preserving the satisfying blend of exploration, resource management, tactical combat, and hero progression that fans appreciate. Its diverse factions, rewarding strategic systems, extensive content, and strong replay value make it an excellent choice for players looking for a deep strategy experience with a fresh science fiction identity. Despite a few areas that could benefit from additional balancing and refinement, the game stands as an enjoyable and highly replayable strategy adventure. Rating: 8/10

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Good game
Tolles Spiel!
I don't have a whole lot of hours *yet* but this game so far is absolutely great and fun to play, been playing it in co-op and it's an absolute blast so far, the visuals are really nice too and the creatures are very creative! Even if this isn't your style of game, please give it a try! If someone like me can understand how to play it you will too and you'll be missing out on such a fun and creative game! (Mac users, it works great on Crossover)
