Отличная оцифровка настольной игры. Играет и ощущается точь в точь как картонный собрат, есть удобные напоминания по правому клику про все особенности тайлов местности и жетонов войск, плюс автоматический подсчёт результата боя.

Classic dice and token board game , German , American , British 3 campaign . 36 missions . PROS: Each mission is under 8 turns and each turn has 3 phase , order , activation and supply . Easy to learn and play , grenade , rifle ,sniper rifle , MG42 machine gun , panzer 4 tank , jeep , halftrack . CONS: After 10 missions you feel the same gameplay over and over again , I doubt you have the passion to finish 36 missions . If it is on sales (under 10 USD you buy it that is fine) , but full prize 20 USD then dont buy it.

Kind of underwhelming, some of the mechanics are kind of useless, others are poorly explained, and after a while the art style loses its novelty. I got it on the Steam Summer sale for a couple of bucks, and honestly that's about what it's worth. Definitely wouldn't pay full price for it.

Несподіванно крута цифрова настолка. Швидка, весела. Прості правила, привітливий інтерфейс та тактична глибина. Партії швидкі, реіграбельні, є декілька цікавих режимів. Онлайн виглядає пустим, але цікаво й соло. Одразу придбав два DLC, що були. Сподіваюсь, що розробники не закинуть гру та продовжуть випускати доповнення зі сценаріями.

A bit too expensive for an old game but an easy to play and quite fun experience, like the characters from old war movies like Clint, Maud and Marvin, so a worthwhile purchase for me although should be about £5 cheaper.

Playtime: 47 minutes (6 tutorial missions + 1 campaign mission) [b]Intro[/b] Heroes of Normandie is a turn-based strategy game mixed with a puzzle game. Missions have a small amount of pieces and you have to find the right way to play them to succeed. It's more like a simpler version of Commandoes than a game like XCom. [b]Review[/b] HoN seems like a decent game. There are lots of different units, cards and other gameplay elements. It also has two campaigns for each of the three different factions. Plus a roguelike option for US or Germany. Where it fails is the presentation. Units are represented by flat tokens like in the board game, which makes it needlessly difficult to tell them apart. It's even worse when they survive a hit and the only indication of being damaged is a tiny icon in the sea of icons units already have. Another problem is confirmations. You can usually use Enter (instead of the more logical Space) to confirm ending a turn, but not always and the distinction is invisible. When attacking a unit you have to clumsily click on a die icon instead of just tapping Enter. And after combat or movement is confirmed the game proceeds very slowly, i sometimes thought something had gone wrong. After combat you have to close a screen as well, it's the opposite of fluid. When you've completed an order and can't do anything else the game doesn't proceed automatically either. Instead of quickly playing a turn you're constantly clicking on tiny buttons or wondering if the game has crashed or not. There are also some minor problems. The tutorial has a typical "example drag" where it shows an animation of how you should drag something over the screen. This makes sense in a mobile game. But here it plays so quickly and constantly it actually made it harder to drag the relevant thing because i couldn't see the cursor. This gave me a headache, which was compounded by the very loud oomph sounds the game plays at the end of every turn. And the even louder ones played at the end of a mission. Sure you can mute it, but that would mute everything else too. [b]Conclusion[/b] Heroes of Normandie is a slow, clunky and poorly done adaptation of a decent-looking board game. I wouldn't recommend it unless you have the patience of a saint and the eyes of an eagle.

Heroes of Normandie - це коли настільний варгейм нарешті визнає, що не кожен гравець хоче витрачати половину суботи на розкладання жетонів, пошук лінійки та суперечки про те, чи видно солдата через той кущ. Комп'ютер бере всю цю бюрократію на себе, а вам залишає найприємніше - нервово дивитися на кубики й звинувачувати їх у всіх своїх помилках. На полі все виглядає напрочуд читабельно: піхота легко впізнається, укриття зрозумілі, кольори не зливаються в зелений суп. Щоправда, карикатурні портрети героїв виглядають так, ніби військовий плакат і комікс випадково потрапили в один пральний барабан. Геймплей тут не обмежується перестрілками. Окрім піхоти, є танки, бронетранспортери та інший металобрухт на гусеницях, який дуже швидко пояснює, чому виходити з кущів без плану - погана ідея. Додайте до цього карти подій, які можуть: - перетворити майже вбитого солдата на героя дня; - скасувати ваш геніальний план; - активувати ворога саме тоді, коли ви вже повірили в перемогу. І ось тут гра починає показувати характер. Місії радують різноманітністю. Тут не лише класичне "знищ усе живе", а й підриви, прориви, рятувальні операції та навіть експропріація золотого запасу. Історики можуть трохи підняти брову, зате тактика від цього стає цікавішою. Спочатку Heroes of Normandie здається веселим військовим атракціоном із жартами та кумедними персонажами. А потім знаходиться супротивник (мультиплеер/skirmish), який починає давати відсіч, і атмосфера різко змінюється на: "Як він мене побачив?", "Я ж був за кущами!" та "Не чіпай мою карту, негіднику!". У такі моменти проклинаються всі - ворог, кубики і власна самовпевненість. Не обійшлося без шерехатостей. Перетягування жетонів іноді відчувається незграбним, текст місцями ніби пережив кілька циклів JPEG-компресії, а деякі анімації та ефекти штурму виглядають так, наче заблукали дорогою з іншої гри. Один раз навіть завис інтерфейс. Але для проєкту, який живе вже понад десятиліття, це скоріше бойові шрами, ніж смертельні поранення. Якщо українська "Відважні: Нормандія" здається вам занадто легкою розминкою, то Heroes of Normandie пропонує значно більше: техніку, складніші взаємодії та ширший тактичний простір. І головне - я б навряд чи захотів розкладати це все на реальному столі. Надто багато місця, підготовки та часу. А тут можна швидко освоїти правила, пройти кампанію, отримати свою порцію тактичного стресу і закрити гру без необхідності збирати пів кімнати назад у коробку.

Really enjoyed playing this game and the somewhat simplistic, if sort of repetitive choices for how to handle scenarios. Unfortunately, I'm unable to find any online matches against people just through the lobby. There is a hot seat local mode to play with friends so if that's your thing, you can still have some multiplayer fun.
