- Playtime: 29 minutes - Played: 29 minutes - Context: I didn't like Hammerwatch (2013) but i figured the devs would've improved after 12 years. Review Just picture Diablo but strip it to the bone. There are only 4 classes with a handful of active skills each. The story is barely there. Gameplay consists of walking through tiny, restrictive areas and killing rather dull enemies. None of the systems and flavour that make Diablo interesting are there, just a boring grind (at least Diablo's grind is fun at first). After killing enemies with the same weapon and same two skills for half an hour i got so bored i literally just walked up to a group and let them kill me. Seriously, go play literally any other ARPG instead. 2/10
the game starts off rather slow but once you have a good run and get into it you will realize that there is SO MUCH to unlock and grind for and level up. the game provides a lot of content if you like something like this. you can upgrade every "trinket" (the random upgrades you get during games), each skill, each piece of equipment from cape to weapon, you even upgrade your "hub"-town alot and it starts to look really really good after a bunch of upgrades. the rogue-lite aspect is also very nice and pretty forgiving since there are a lot of permanent things you keep when you die, like your whole gear pieces and skills character levels. you also got a HUGE storage box where you can store items for all your other characters, which you can seamlessly switch between when in town. in coop all loot is personal so you dont have to share anything besides mana & hp drops. the pixel art is also very nice all in all i was extremely surprised about how addictive this game is and how much content it has

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 17: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

too repetitive, plot is nonexistent or so irrelevant that u wont care about it, tutorial was subpar bc game offered little guidance when you start off. gameplay is a snoozefest where you go on a map and fight the same enemies to find random items and recruit new towns people, but this is so boring. the progression is also frustrating, if you level up, you need to go BACK to town to increase ur stats AND learn new skills. i think the town building is just progression/chore bait and doesnt add anything to the game really. i played as a wizard and want to cast spells but 1) basic fireball attack costs 0 mana to use 2) their first unlocked skill is just the basic fireball attack x5 but it costs a third of ur mana 3) high mana costs make wizard class so boring 4) also getting cornered = insta death is just not fun 5) at least let me increase my attack speed
game is fun, builds are surprisingly diverse. can't wait for the dlc to drop.
Boring
Sooooooo boring.
Отличная игрушка.
While yes, it's technically a rouge-ish, it's on the easier side of the genre. It's shorter than I'd like, but what's here is pretty good. I suppose it could also be described as an incremental in a very roundabout way, another genre I have a fondness for. Comparing to the previous Heroes of Hammerwatch: The main meta progression is largely the same, building up your town and buying upgrades within it for your characters using the resources gained during runs. Just like in the previous game, you will want to play all of the characters, as levelling them up gives more meta progression bonuses to other characters. Unlike the previous, resources lost due to taxes on a "failed run" also contribute to meta progression. What we've lost: Keys and locked chests/doors (yay). Puzzles (boo). While it makes sense for a rogue ish game in this style to do away with keys, I do wish that puzzle rooms would have stayed. Those were a standout from the original Hammerwatch. Also, it's reasonable to beat the main dungeon without modifying it (yay, ♥♥♥♥ the fountain, if you know you know). What we've gained: Every "level" has a unique flavor. Even the ones that are 'the same' have a unique flair to them. One forest level is in the day, another at dusk, another at night. One dungeon level is clean and sterile, the next is bloody and corrupt. Gone are the days of back to back identical tilesets. Also, you can do a lot more to customize your character now. Not aesthetically (boo), but mechanically (yay). There's diablo style loot, and the weapons you have dictate your first and second abilities. Third and fourth (and first passive) are dictated by the character you have chosen. Fifth (and second passive) are based on a sub class you can choose after progressing to character level 10. And then there's the buildcrafting IN THE RUN. Draw 3, pick 1. I want the devs to add more options in future updates, but what's here is pretty good. Trinkets return from the previous game, but there's also options for your character abilities. In short, it looks like the devs learned from their previous games and built what the community wants. What I want: More post launch support than what the previous Heroes of Hammerwatch got. That one got a couple DLC's one of which kinda sucked. Endless Mode: I want it, I don't like having my run cut off right when I finally have my build in 'go mode' just because I've 'won'. Warn me that it's not supported, and give me the option to throw myself into increasingly harder chaotic levels that are a mixmash of everything else in the game. Let me play my build intil it breaks or the game breaks me.
Deeplly Flawed Game -You struggle with ressources to upgrade your town and there is also have upgrade that use the same ressources needing to be bought on each character -You can't skip "Mission result" (where it shows gold and ressources gained after your run) and need to watch it slowly for 10-15s each run - The characters are as pixelated as the envvironment so they are hard to see (same for ennemies) -When you create character they all look like big viking man and sometimes they have female voice by default, and their picture is ugly (that's just a fact) -When you start a run you have temporary run upgrade that costs ressources (f u tavern) -You need to upgrade each classes to gain bonuses for all the others but the ranger is the most op one and the most rewarding to upgrade, some other are fully useless (even if they are also achievments that rewards stats they're meh , like the rogue gave -1.5% less damage of traps per level lmao) - Ranger > mages > melee classes - You loot sh*t , 5 temporary buff/trinkets and 1 equipment that often is not for your class per 20 min - Build and possibilities are very small , you have 2 attacks linked to your weapon 2 main spells of your class 1 passive and off you go -There is no invulnerability phase for your character , they can be stomped by a swarm of ennemies in 0.5s -There are swarm of ennemies that spawn in certain area around your character suddenly and can quickly kill you if you alt tab or check inventory (inventory doesn't pause game even in solo)
