Make Chinese and English speaker feel at home: Bilingual Curator
Not done yet but really enjoying this. You're the hero and you have five days to live. Unfortunately, despite defeating the bad guy, the kingdom is a mess, split by conflict over resources, racism, and distrust between the monarchy and the church. In the time you have left you can't solve all the problems, but you can help put people on the right track. You'll play through your five days repeatedly until you decide you're done or get the true ending. Each run takes around two hours. By time gameplay is at most half relatively simple JRPG battles, with the other half being thinking about what you want to do next to effectively manage your time, or exploring for key items, or talking to people. On repeat cycles it doesn't get too repetitive, as you can skip cinematics, and even if you have to redo quests sometimes they're not very long. The way the different quests interact, and the planning you have to do to handle them efficiently, and the way deeper levels of secrets unfold is great. Would be happy to recommend this to people, and while it's been a few years and I'm not sure it's done so well, I'd love to see more Shoji Masuda games in English. Linda Cubed was great and deserves a wider audience.
It's a interesting concept. Wouldn't recommend it at full price, the story is a bit barebones for what it is. But it's a good timesink if you like the premise. There is one giant quality of life tip i can give you if you decide to go for the true end.
Make sure to save the demon king or the orphan quest until you need a earth orb. My save bugged out and it would just not spawn in any other way and i eventually gave up and downloaded someone elses save file. Most of my hours playing this game was trying to grind for that orb.
I walked into this game with very few expectations aside from finding the premise of a hero growing weaker over time very interesting. I was super pleasantly surprised by what I got, this is a game where you start off not knowing what to do but each run is very quick and you want to see the setting become a better place while learning more about how the game itself works and how to better optimize your time, encouraging many different kinds of runs and seeing what different approaches will get you. By the end of it you really feel like you've optimized the game and your final playthroughs will be very different from your first, in a way that really works well with the game's themes and messaging. Really recommend this one, was pleasantly surprised by how well the game mechanics helped tell the story and got me more and more invested in playing.
Got this game in a bundle, and in the beginning I thought it was a low effort game; but after playing few times, I can say that it is an interesting indie game. The concept is that you area dead but you come back for 5 days; and during these 5 days you get weaker and weaker and have to complete 2 quests for each of the "companions" you encounter. This means you have to play the game 5 days period over and over until you get to the right conditions to complete the game. It is not straightforward for sure, but the story at the end explains why and it actually make sense. The story is actually cliche but the real story is quite deeper and more involved than just kill the demon king or stuff like that. When you reach the "true ending" it is quite enjoyable, and I would suggest to try out yourself to find the right way to get there, before use a guide. The game itself is really barebone; turn based combat with few spells and weapons; and as time goes by you forget your spells so need to rely on your allies more and more. graphics are like a PS one game or a Vita game; which is not bad, and sound is quite nice but repetitive. I recommend this game but only if you are into brief turn based light novels RPGs, as beside the novelty there is nothing really to grant more time playing, unless you want to see the real ending. 6 out of 10 for me
Good, but it gets repetitive really fast
The premise of this game is quite original: you are the strongest hero in the land, and you have already won. However, you also died in the final battle, and now you have only five days to settle the issues that have arisen in the postgame. And you'd better be quick about it, because as time passes you keep getting weaker! So far so good. The issue is, this game hides a lot of information to the player. Every heroine, there are
six
of them, has two quests to complete before you can access the true ending. You can see which quests you have completed in the gallery (which also spoils stuff. Seriously, what were the Devs thinking?). However, if you don't complete their second quest in the next playthrough, then you'll lose all your progress on that heroine, and you will have to do everything again! Vivi's quests are the worst ones, since she sells items that are needed for other quests, and she keeps moving around. To save you a lot of headaches, just
move from one location to another until you meet her three times. She'll then ask to join you, and that will be the end or her first quest. For the second quest, you'll first need to [strike]beat the crap out of[/strike] mug her while she's in a dungeon. She's always near the left entrance of a dungeon, so keep exiting and entering until she shows up while you are still powerful. Once she joins you again, she'll give you the second part of her second quest, which fortunately is much less RNG dependant.
Mercifully, all other quests are much simpler. Hint: bring
Yona
with you as much as possible to
level her up ASAP
, but not when
you need to meet Veranabelle. It won't end well
. All things considered, I would still recommend this game. Just be aware that, to finish it in a reasonable time, a walkthrough is basically mandatory.
First impression comments: 1. Progression system I love how the core system of the game flips the progression system of generic RPGs on its head. Your hero starts the game on max level, stats, equipment, and spells, but over the course of the 5 in-game days, the Hero gets more and more tired as he gets closer to re-death. After every few hours, your body becomes more worn out, and you start to lose access to high level equipments and spells and need to start downgrading your equipments that are too heavy. In this sense, your MC starts the game strong, but becomes weaker overtime. So you need to start recruiting other party members to mitigate that MC power loss. 2. Quests TBA This game has better mechanics than Astral Party, which automatically means it's a good game. 👍
i love the concept and the art is great the one thing i dont like is the random crashes i get other then that i love this game the game play loop is awesome

I had more fun that I'd have expected, even if it's more of a guilty pleasure and overlooking some generic writing.
