Heretic Operative

Меня привлекла в игре интересное описание. Но так и хочется написать: "не переносите настолки в компьютерный вариант один в один" - это просто убивает игровой процесс. В общем игра оказалась бедной на компьютерный геймплей. Для настолки смотрелась бы хорошо.

First I was befuddled, then I was addicted.

Excellent Jeux de plateau typé améritrash. Mécaniques de jeux intéressantes avec le système de ressources. Une sorte d'horreur à Arkham dans un univers médiéval. Des orcs, des serpents mais aussi du cultiste et de la tentacule ! On vient de commencer, on a déjà qu'une envie, c'est d'y retourner.

The one year update has really made this game very accessible. I really liked the idea of the game when it was first released but it was too challenging for me. Now, I can play on the easier level and I really enjoy it. There is a ton of replayability by mixing up your hero, the story goal, and the opposing cult.

Ignore the time played, I play offline. My game is bugged. As soon as I complete one game then the next game will not spawn opponents and can't start with an opening card, just say "TEXT HERE". I have uninstalled and reinstalled about 3 times to play a few levels in. Once again it bugged out so now I'll uninstall permanently. The bit that I did manage to play was not inspiring with odds so stacked against the payer that you lose most of the time (success rolls from 4% to 19% chance, lucky to get a 50:50 with most going against you). Monsters immune to any damage rolls, etc. I could not get into the game properly and there was very little skill which mattered as the "rules" just negated skill application. Wasted my money here.

Too random, too repetitive.

Great art and writing, really made me feel like I was in a fantasy book. The mechanic where as corruption goes up, so does your operatives' magic power - but if it goes too high, you lose the operative - creates a fun tension where you're at your most powerful when you're also the closest to losing, so the game often remains in the balance til the end.

I'll give it a thumbs up, it's fun and I like the variety of characters and events, though I don't feel like it has legs for me. The biggest drawback is you get 2 actions a turn and that's it, no matter how many characters you have. There's not a ton of stuff to do because of that, there's no t much sense of growth. You can spread your guys around and have a lot of events to process each turn, but it's more like things are happening _to_ you rather than _because_ of you. Still, thumbs up, it does a good job, I'm happy I bought it.

a lot of fun, especially if you like playing some of the popular Lovecraft board games out there. no setup or cleanup required!
