Well I played a bit into this and I can't take it already (I'm at the initial "hotel" scene). This guy has a problem, a major problem. He needs a damn shrink, and it's obvious it's going to end badly. He's missed all the obvious hints, he takes everything badly, and frankly playing what seems VERY likely to become an abuser makes my heart ache. I'm not saying it's a bad game, and I'm not requesting a refund, but I think there needs to be some kind of warning. This isn't a love story. Far from it.
"Two souls so hopelessly in love, bound to destroy each other" "This zipper on my jacket, always going up and down. These sides meeting and separating as the seasons come and go. They journey together despite this distance, waiting to meet once more and become whole again." ABOUT FOUR YEARS AGO I played "Her Lie I Tried To Believe"... It has stuck with me as one of the most engrossing and brilliant stories I have read, and while some things didn't seem to add up, and the ending was kinda sad...This is definitely My one of my Favorite Visual Novels. I definitely had so many thought and feeling and my own "Fanfictions" of how things could have gone right. (I'll leave a review on the original FREE version since I never did yet as well so I can PRO and CON it for potential players... but for me it is a HIGHLY RECOMMENDED). So lets get into it: My first playthrough on the "Extended Edition" was the same ending ... Is that normal? Well obviously I need to see the other endings right? But I feel somewhat happy this is my first ending. it's titles "One Last Clue" With the NEW Endings: I used" skip" to get my second ending. Wow. I was surprised... I chose all the opposite choices and the results were much more VICIOUS.
Tim ends up killing Cassandra without meaning to. He finds out he was wrong and goes to help her after he beat her to find her dead. His prophesy coming true...
"Too Little Too Late" Again I needed a new ending... I can't be bond to this fate... This time I chose different options, and I found one that had been locked before... Had I discovered the happy ending?
Well it had my eyes a bit watering until I found that there really was some type of mafia type of thing going on...(I'll admit I didn't like that much because it devalues the letter -in my opinion- and devalues the original ending - again in my opinion) So yeah my tears at hoping for a lovey dovey ending were turned to rage seeing this new character names Robert, while Steve seemed a bit more chill, Robert is the devil... Maybe it now what I wanted but surprisingly it makes Tim seem good, like a hero actually...(And if we needed another twist and turn I'll accept it... After all in a world full of monsters, it just takes a worse monster to show the difference)....And this is getting quite LONG isn't it? WELL I'm writing it as I'm playing and I must say... I really like the direction. I CHANGED MY MIND! I have NO IDEA what to think of this but I hope that last plan works... and you better believe I have a lot of ideas and I will make sure it's a good ending!
"Her Lie I Couldn't Believe" was definitely the longest ending being the "True Ending" and I will take some liberties with that end incorporating my own GOOD END vibes to that open ending. That kept me on the edge of my seat... I had so many emotions going on and I flt such anticipation for a good end, a bad end, the unknown end.... and a
Redemption
too! ... I'm sure the rest of the endings won't be as epic but lets see where this goes... I kinda don't want to since I know the "True Ending"... but lets see...
An Aquarium? Quite a good date for acting like the jerkiest jerk ever... And of course Steve is chill as ever. Hard to watch that and sad...
"An Illusion of a Beast" AND If I didn't think there could be a more A**H*** Time Ending I get "Cul-De-Sac"... Wow... But yeah the "True Ending" would definitely be the "Good Ending". I've know about this update for a couple years or so but I never got it back it was stated to be a small update and so I didn't think it would even have a good ending so I was pleasantly surprised.
You should have turned this into a manga. script and story is just as good as the typical dark manga. but the soundtrack and effects match well with the story, I hope your work in visual novels would eventually get recognized well someday.
Great novel, worth every penny. Story can get you a little heated.
Her Lie I Tried To Believe is a true hidden and unpolished gem. When I first delved into the free part of the novel, I was immediately captivated by the immersive atmosphere of the story. It felt like there was almost no hope for a good ending, which only added to its allure. In this version, you can expect to discover even more distinct endings that will make you stay here! I was thrilled to discover that the first ending I unlocked was 'One last clue'. And let me tell you, it was absolutely satisfying! However, it left me yearning for more. I couldn't help but crave deeper insights into the captivating story and the enigmatic character who suddenly emerged within it. The emotions that washed over me while reading this ending made me feel like an integral part of the narrative. The 'True' ending instead,
with all the mafia and hero stuff, felt a bit lackluster to me. There was so much untapped potential that could have been explored instead of the main character simply transforming into an anime hero and doing all the expected good deeds.
Nevertheless, I must say that the artwork has greatly improved in this part, and I truly admire the effort that has been put into creating such stunning visuals. This captivating visual novel is an absolute must-play! It delves into a fascinating exploration of a peculiar and abusive relationship/rivalry that evolves into something truly extraordinary. Prepare to be enthralled as both characters spiral into madness, their desperate attempts at manipulation leaving you on the edge of your seat. It's completely worth it!
Fantastic! Loved it! I wont give any spoilers out but I think the true ending was great.
Phenomenal Visual Novel. Even though, the true ending could have been a little better, I still prefer it to the original one, and think that it enhances the experience, and finishes to story more satisfyingly. The story and writing are really good, and the 2 main characters are perfect for this story. The CGs are beautiful! And I really didn't expect the music to be so good too! This game is totally worth the price, and I'm glad I bought this extended version, even though the original one is free. 8/10
