As much as these games are a nostalgia trip, for some reason Jewel Quest 2 and Jewel Quest 3 keep getting flagged by antiviruses for a PUA (Potentially Unwanted App) called Creprote. I don't know how dangerous or what kind of threat this Creprote is, but if my antivirus is picking it up, no amount of nostalgia is worth the risk, atleast for me. If you choose to install this anyways, please be careful. Update: I looked it up, it seems like Creprote is supposedly a "riskware" which I think means it looks for vulnerabilities in your device for more dangerous threats to enter. Yeah, I'm just gonna stay away from this one...
Jewel Quest 1
The first game of the series is the least diverse in terms of content. There are a total of 36 levels that are meant to be played in five separate gameplay loops, with the boards themselves constant throughout each loop. Each round is differentiated by a set of new obstacles, each of which makes the game harder, but not in a fun way; because of the way the match-three mechanics are set up, key areas on the boards frequently become stuffed with garbage, leading to long periods of grinding in an attempt to free up blocked areas, only for them to immediately get blocked off again. In terms of lore, there isn't much to talk about. Only the first round has a coherent story element; the subsequent rounds repeat "fun facts" about the board pieces, and there is otherwise no reason to get invested in the game. Overall score: 5/10
Jewel Quest 2
Out of the other three games in the bundle, the second game is possibly the best, mostly because it has level variety and focuses on improving the match-three experience. Unlike the first game, the boards have variations between each round, and there's an option to skip the grinding process, though at the cost of introducing obstacles that block key areas of the board. The game also introduces an online mode which, in the same vein as the first game, is essentially a rehash of the levels from the single-player campaign. The story in this game is much more fleshed out than the first. Instead of trying to integrate the match-three mechanics into the lore, the second game wisely chooses to ignore the match-three mechanics for most of the story, instead making an attempt to develop characters and tell an interesting story. '' Overall score: 7/10
Jewel Quest Mysteries: Curse of the Emerald Tear
This game shouldn't even be in the bundle. As a game, it's very repetitive in terms of visuals, mechanics, and engagement. It's just another hidden object game that doesn't follow a consistent design scheme. Overall Score: 3/10
Jewel Quest 3
The third real game in the series makes the bold move of introducing additional mechanics. Some of these mechanics (like the pearls that change the layout of the board) are an interesting addition to the game. Some of the other mechanics are basically online mode mechanics used to pad the length of the game. The final set of mechanics range from tedious to outright bad. In particular, the South America levels, which pit the player and AI in a turn-based round to turn more spaces gold, has an AI that's just smart enough to avoid making disadvantageous cascades and immediately seize any chances to seize available gold spaces, turning the entire set of levels a luck-based mission dependent on the player getting a good first turn. The online mode has been revamped in this entry. This time, the levels used in online mode are completely unique to online play. As such, they are made somewhat easier to complete than the story-mode boards, though whether or not it's an improvement over the second game is up to player discretion. The third game has the most lore. The museum setting provides a good backdrop for world-building, explaining the in-universe uses of various board pieces and the histories behind level areas. Overall, it really feels like a journey across the globe. Overall Score: 6/10
The old Match 3 games were actually fun, modern Match 3 games are extremely boring and repetitive. Jewel Quest was a great series and I really wish all the games were on Steam (Unfortunately its owned by the company iWin, and they have the worst business model I have ever seen when it comes to games, so really the only way to play the Jewel Quest series the right way would be to buy the CD's). While Jewel Quest 1 and 2 are pretty simple, Jewel Quest 3 actually had some really neat mechanics that made it more interesting and introduced a lot more planning and strategizing. This pack also comes with the first game in the "Jewel Quest Mysteries" series (Which is just your basic everyday Hidden Object game) but what's really strange is that nowhere on the game page does it mention it's even in the bundle.
jewel quest is fun to play definately reccomend have been playing this game for a long time I am letting you know that full screen mode is not recommended for newer graphics cards.

Обзор на части 1, 2 и 3. Когда-то это была интересная игра, но на фоне современных в этом жанре это уже не особенно играбельно. Сейчас это просто классический скучный матч-3. Плюсы:

Есть сюжет;
Интересная опция, показать доску без фишек (только в 3 части).
Минусы:

Маленькое разрешение, маленькое окно (borderless gaming тут не поможет);
Нет бонусов за матч четырёх, пяти или более значков;
Вообще нет суперприёмов (в 2 части только один, чистящий одну клетку);
Таймер;
The best puzzle game when I was young.
later levels turn into a frustrating RnG simulator which nostalgia doesnt help
