Seaberry Keep is an obnoxiously cute point and click game that is sure to overwhelm the senses with its over abundance of PINK. Overall, a very wholesome and short title to provide some quirky and childish entertainment. Pros

Wholesome & pink overload
Fully voiced
Easy achievements
Decorating minigames
Cons

Lack of varied minigames

Story & Gameplay
Upon launching this game, I immediately was overwhelmed with pink. It hits you in the face, and I am not complaining. Do I know what I just played? Not really, but I know I do not regret it. Everything about it is cute. The developer voices every character herself, and even the credits state it was tested by the developer’s own mother. It does not get more adorable than that. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2888089019 Seaberry Keep is a wild ride, you play as Strawberry (an ice cream cone butterfly) and search for help for her fallen friend Chippy (a turtle?). Strawberry is not alone; she is joined by a friendly ghost and together they talk to the residents to ultimately save Chippy. Yes, I warned you, the story is wild, but it is short and sweet and does not overstay its welcome. I would love to see what else Cozy Strawberry could come up with in the next chapter of the game Chippy’s Escape from Seaberry Keep (releasing next year). Talk to a parrot, decorate rooms, play hide and seek with ghosts and wake up rabbits. It is a point and click 2D game, exploring the area by clicking directional arrows. The minigames are exceedingly simple, young children could complete them. The entirety of the game appears to be targeting younger audiences, and I recommend keeping this in mind before setting unrealistic expectations of the game.
Visuals & Sound
The art is hand-drawn and extremely eye catching with its bright pink aesthetic and cute style. It is pink, love hearts, and flower galore. The developer really went all in for this art style and I cannot say I have played a game that looks even remotely similar. Decorating the rooms appealed to my inner child and I had a blast. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2888089199 Every character is voiced by the developer herself, with each character sounding distinct. It is impressive that Cozy Strawberry (fitting name for the developer) went to such effort to do this. Whilst it is clear that the voice acting is amateur, I found it to be so wholesome and gave the game a more personal feel.
Technical & Stats

This game was played using mouse only, and with the following PC specs.: Intel i5-9400 2.9 GHz 16GB RAM GeForce RTX 2060 6GB 2560x1440 resolution HDD Windows 10
Playtime: 45 minutes Controller Recommended? No Replayability value: No
Conclusion
Seaberry Keep is an excessively cute point and click game with very childish themes. It takes less than one hour to complete with 100% achievements and only costs $AU7.50. If you like pink, a completely bizarre nonsensical story with quirky characters, and do not mind its simplicity, I recommend picking this one up and supporting its creator. Seaberry Keep is a short and colorful visual novel with quirky characters and a strong positive vibe. While it wasn’t created especially for younger audiences, it certainly seems that children might enjoy it more than adults because of its storybook-like narration. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2887223841 Seaberry Keep is a mansion full of rooms that you will get to explore together with the main character of the story, Strawberry Sorbet - a fairy with a body shaped as an ice cream cone, accompanied by Spooky, a friendly ghost. Behind each door awaits either a minigame or some other fun activity, both of these being replayable yet very basic. Among the things to do, you’ll get to find hidden ghosts, click on bunnies to wake them up or plant flowers. Some of the scenes have draggable elements, and for example you can decorate your room by dragging the available sprites as stickers on the wall or as plushies on shelves, as you see fit. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2887223792 While the game is created in Ren’Py, it has quite a unique navigation system that doesn’t necessitate a branching spot for it to trigger changing the scene. You will be able to move freely between the mansion’s rooms by clicking the directional buttons on the screen and this will change the active scene (or room) you’re in. There is no map available, but the mansion is not big enough to get completely lost in. Seaberry Keep is fully voiced and it appears that all characters are voiced by the same person. This makes the game feel even more like a bedtime story, as if you were a kid and one of your parents was reading the lines with a different voice and tonality depending on the character impersonated. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2887223754 As a one-person project, I think it’s a good start into the indie world. It’s overall a warm and positive game that might not be enjoyable for everyone because of its childish thematic and execution, but it’s still a cozy experience, with an ending promising future sequels, first of which will be Chippy's Escape from Seaberry Keep. When considering whether you want to buy it or not, please keep in mind that a full playthrough (including the 5 easily-obtainable achievements) lasts around ~45 minutes, thus buying it at full price might be a bit of a stretch. If you’re unsure about the gameplay you can try the free Christmas-theme side-story Seaberry Holiday planned to be released on Steam on 7 Dec, 2022. I... what? The game's unapologetically, unabashedly and unwaveringly cute with absolutely zero signs of any irony. It's exactly what it looks like, and it actually warmed my heart a bit. I feel like this is a game best played by a small child, maybe on a tablet or something? It's a little barebones, the main enjoyment factor comes from watching the CUTE, hearing the adorable voice acting and thinking "what sort of bonkers-but-cute thing will happen next?". It knows what it is, what it isn't, and it knows how to play into that. That deserves respect. I'm getting the sequel as well.
Hi, I am Strawberry Sorbet, can you open this door for me because I have no arms - talking to a ghost by the way. I am not sure if this developer is playing 4D chess with me, but even with all of the jokes, I feel like most of them were unintentional, and I thought this game was hilarious. It's actually not just a visual novel, more like a graphic adventure game with some exploration and mini-games, such as decorating a room or doing various hidden-object puzzles. Suprisingly voice acted too, I thought the ghost brought a very strong emotional range to the character, some of the best dialogue written for a game. The game is about 40 minutes for 100% completion, apparently with a planned Christmas special, for all of you who are now invested in the Seaberry Keep universe. I am not sure if I want to artistically analyze this game (because it would kill me), but I will say that is a stellar dev name, "Cozy Strawberry", as an American Dung Beetle I feel like there is mutual respect and understanding. Lots of cute backgrounds, $3-5, ehh worth a play, if you like me and get amused very easily. I love that game-making has become open to everyone with enough time and ideas. This little game clearly has had some love and effort put into it, though I found it a tad too childish and visually overloaded and it sounds like it's voiced by that over-enthusiastic girl in my high school class who wanted to become an actor*. It's pretty much what it says on the tin though and the demo is still up, so no surprises there. It has a simple story with a couple of funny dialogues and very simple interactive P&C things to do, a lot of them optional and basically pointless unless you find them fun and cute. Nothing spectacular, but if you like the style then hey, it's not a huge investment. The demo will probably tell you if you'll want 45+ minutes of it. *In case that sounded too harsh: she did end up becoming an actor * * * If you like chill and story-driven games, check out my curator Peaceful Adventures and Stories. Seaberry Keep is an adorable cross between a visual novel and a point-and-click game. Players will meet a plethora of cute characters, play hide and seek with ghosts, plant magical flowers, travel through a warp portal and escape the really big castle mansion! It is a delightful way to spend thirty minutes to an hour. Its cute, childlike aesthetic, kooky characters, casual gameplay and family-friendly narrative make for a relaxing and wholesome experience that is perfect for winding down and enjoying with a cup of tea! A short, but adorable game! There are so many colorful characters and plenty of items to interact with! I especially loved the purple unicorn's song and how much I could decorate around the mansion! Zoe was also so sassy, I loved her! If you want a game which will brighten your day and leave you smiling, this is the game for you! So excited for the sequel!
Family friendly interactive VN and very easy to get all achievements in about 15-20 minutes.
100% playthrough here: https://youtu.be/JpDf79H24SM This is a really cute point and click adventure that's fully voice acted and has easy achievements. Definitely recommend it for a relaxing fantasy world experience.
Empfohlen.
