Hellbound

Hellbound is one of those short, sweet, and straight-to-the-point FPS boomer shooters that you’ll enjoy over a nice weekend off. If you grew up with DOOM as I did back in the golden era of FPS games on PC decades ago, Hellbound will feel familiar to you in every regard. This has the same enemies, gameplay, key-finding to progress through levels, and overall graphics as the original DOOM games. Just as advertised, Hellbound literally feels like a classic 1990s FPS game, 30 years later. This game doesn’t reinvent the wheel or anything. It’s a love letter and homage to DOOM, and it’s a lot of fun. I love the gore, gameplay, levels, and the classic one-liners that you’d expect coming out of Duke Nukem’s mouth. They did feel a bit generic, but it was a nice touch regardless. The menus, sound effects, storyline, and even the metal soundtrack are all DOOM-inspired. Hellgore, the main character you’re playing as, even has his avatar look bloodied as you take damage, just like Doomguy. The weapons did leave a bit to be desired, as they felt very weak in Hellbound. The enemies, especially as you get towards the final few levels, are just sponges, and the same applies to the bosses, including the final encounter. They were lackluster and simplistic fights, but considering you can beat this game in just a handful of hours, it made sense in the grand scheme of things. Ultimately, ​I recommend Hellbound. If you’re also into boomer shooters and those glorious FPS games from the 90s, this is worth playing. It’s quick, easy, fun, and you’ll have a blast. You’ll chuckle at some of the one-liners and have a great time blasting demons back to hell with the classic gameplay that was captured nicely here. Yes, it’s literally a copied-and-pasted DOOM clone, but it’s a quick trip to nostalgia lane.

Me da lastima no recomendar Hellbound por ser un juego argentino pero son mas las cosas malas que buenas. Como positivo diria +La escopeta +La musica Negativo -Jugabilidad que no se siente bien -Bugs por todos lados, desde que a veces las armas no disparan hasta que se cambia el idioma cuando quiere -Historia -Diseño de niveles -Duracion Si lo agarran de oferta puede servir para una tarde. Yo no la pase ''mal'' jugandolo pero hay miles de mejores opciones.

A great short shooter that is inspired by classics of Doom, Quake, and Serious Sam. Despite the warning, the Normal difficulty is very good and balanced. The soundtrack is also great and improves the flow of the shooting dynamic.

Its like a mix of Quake & Unreal. Not a bad game.

Fun "boomer shooter", sadly it has many FPS drops and a bug that make your weapon not shoot when you click. Nevertheless its a recommended game if you can find it on offer. A fun little "Doom clone"

Step 1: Go to Discussions page and find the fix someone posted about the guns just not firing when you click because the dev can't be bothered fixing such a huge issue. Gameplay is fun enough, but gets dry VERY fast. Not much in terms of weapon or enemy variety. Plays more like an early access game than a full release. Would recommend picking this up if it's on sale for next to nothing. Otherwise, not worth it at full price.

Awesome, lots of fun, mindless shooting, I love it, bit of puzzles nothing too complicated . Awesome weapons, some minor bugs and glitches when firing a gun and loading a save game

To sum it up: Serios Sam goes to hell. - Shooting is good. - Movement is bad. - Plattforming is really bad. - Visual design is metal AF, but visual clarity suffers for it. - Music is good, but extremely repetitive. I think it's just one soundtrack for about three hours of gameplay. - Human enemies are good. - Demon enemies are bad. From the precision arching fireball throws to the highly damaging homing launch attacks. Can only reccomend to hardcore boomer shooter fans. Everyone else should steer clear.
