About
Hell is Us is a 3rd-person action-adventure game that combines intense melee combat with the thrill of exploration. Explore a semi-open world to find answers to your questions and face mysterious creatures all along your journey.
As well as the civil war dividing the country, the region is suffering from a mysterious calamity, which has given rise to supernatural creatures that no modern weapon can defeat. Your drone and sword from a different age are your faithful allies as you cut a path through lands infested with terrifying chimeras and try to unravel the mystery of their appearance.
No map, no compass, no quest markers: following your instincts is part of the adventure. Enjoy a unique experience that uses innovative writing and level design to let you make your own decisions and follow your instincts as you explore. Your discoveries are yours alone.
Swords, spears and axes: a wide range of weapons forged specially for fighting these supernatural creatures is available. You will need to learn how to fight these monsters and use your drone wisely to stay alive.
''The central theme of Hell is Us is that human violence is a perpetual cycle fueled by human emotions and passions.'' – Jonathan Jacques-Belletête, Creative Director

Game is alright. I came into this game with the wrong mindset, while also discovering it's not my cup of tea. I was gifted the game for free by my best friend, and with "Hell is Us" having the tag of souls-like, I was interested enough. The game is much more focused on the aspect of no handholding questing and problem solving than I originally expected. I had no issue with it, but the combat was not all that engaging. I'd say the game is much more interesting for those who like deep-lore, discovering solutions to puzzle and quests all while not being guided through it in anyway. 3/5 for me
combat really is crisp and the stamina/health pool being shared isnt that bad if you just heal after your hits. 10/10 world building and atmosphere. It wont hold your hand at any point. Absolutely recommend for those who enjoy exploration and a challenge.
All these reviews and no one is talking about easily the worst part of the game. The ladders. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ theyre so slow. Took the near death faceplant instead every single chance I could. Other then that Game is great.
A soulslike tilted towards exploration, puzzles and narrative. As someone who enjoys combat in soulslike games, i don't mind the lack of depth in this aspect. The narrative and atmosphere more than makes up for it. NPC interactions feel unique and fresh, i wish From Soft would take some notes. Dialogue is S tier, the devs manage to navigate heavy subject matter really well. The game is really polished for a AA No tech issues for me either
This game is not for everyone, and that's a good thing! The story is good, the graphics are great, the puzzles are the game's strongest point, the combat is decent, and the enemy variety is ok. You'll spend a lot of time exploring. There is no map, no waypoint, and no objective markers. You have to interact with the world and piece everything together by talking to NPCs and finding clues scattered throughout the environment. I really enjoyed it. Having several big titles release around the same time as HELL IS US might have hurt its player count, which is a shame. If you enjoy puzzles, a great atmosphere, Souls-like combat, and a good story, you'll probably enjoy this one. My one and only complaint is the "Legend of the Phol" achievement. Getting 100% completion because of that achievement is incredibly annoying. That's it.
gioco solido, storia coinvolgente
Such a great game for unraveling mysteries of a world unlike anything I've ever seen. Dark themes and fun weapons with customization available but it isn't too overwhelming. I took a break about halfway through for like a month+ and came back and was still able to get back into it without losing track of what's going on. The beginning might make you think it's going to be difficult to navigate the game because the paths are confusing and there isn't a traditional map and quest compass but it isn't all that difficult once you get the hang of it. I recommend going through the first part without diverging from the main quest too much and once you get to the second location really start to explore.
As someone who enjoys Zelda-like puzzles and Souls-like combat I thought this game was a no brainer. But unfortunately this game doesn't really hold up to either of those standards. Combat is very one dimensional, enemy types are quite limited and get old fast and the puzzles will go from: "well, that was easy." to: "How in the hell was I suppose to read your mind?!". The story is semi interesting and the visuals are well done, but the real killer for me was the pacing of the game itself. It's unexpectedly slow and that pairing with the pretty consistently unrewarding experience made me move on to better games. If you're looking for a decent story game, sure. Otherwise you're better off elsewhere.
Good game! Played it on hard mode and I went from thinking enemies were easy to wanting to turn down the difficulty by the end of it.
Ótimo Jogo, bem gratificante ir resolvendo os enigmas e descobrindo camaras secretas
