Hell clock is a nice smaller entry in the ARPG domain. The story is based on historical events which I thought was pretty cool, music is solid (but could probably use a few more tracks), and the gameplay has a solid foundation. There are however some glaring gaps that veteran ARPG players will find Biggest Pros : Easy to pick up, options for casual/hardcore, progression is very consistent, multiple game modes, and build diversity is very good Biggest Cons : There is no real endgame, even with the content added in 2.0. The damage scaling for a proper build just completely obliterates any challenge once your build comes online and the enemy scaling doesn't keep up. My build was hitting for several hundred billion a second, and the final boss of a T16 nightmare had like 2 trillion hp, so he still died before I even saw him do a mechanic. At this point all I'm missing is lucky corruptions/more divinity blessings on gear, but what's the point when everything dies offscreen All of this probably took me around 20 hours to get to that level of power, so it is definitely on the shorter side of longevity of an ARPG. Overall tho this would be a solid 7/10 recommendation for me - definitely enjoyable
It's good! It starts off a bit slow, I had to power through it because I didn't have a good build. After that, I started to enjoy it a lot more. I do wish the music was better though. It's not bad music but the music doesn't have this "hectic dungeon crawler" vibe, it's more like "dialogue background music" style. Kinda takes you out of it. I also wish there was a way to see which relics you already have and directly compare it in a run.

Gives a decent enough build craft depth where I have fun thinking and making my own builds, but not so much where I feel like I have to go look up guides or other people's builds. A lot less complex than PoE, a decent chunk less complex than Last Epoch, and maybe a bit less or similar tier of complexity to D4. Also simple ARPG roguelike is a great combo. Decide what you want to build around, make it work throughout your run, clear maps, and then start over from nothing and try a new build. Great for someone like me who wants to change my build in ARPGs every 2 hours. Gameplay is also very similar to soulstone survivors or hades. Very snappy and 'arcade' feeling.
