Repel a dynamically generated Mist that reacts to the flames of your sword.
Carry your flames across Nahran: your blade can also ignite the environment, activate mechanisms, and even destroy creatures born from the Mist.

I know a lot of people are probably not expecting good free games anymore considering the bunch of slop given for free lately on steam, but trust me, this game wont disappoint. The gameplay is so smooth, the atmosphere is great, the music is fitting, it's definitely a must try. Looking forward to the sequel!
So cool game. Thanks to developers to gave it to free. Going to buy secont game when realese. The first game in that type if setting, so very interesting. Will try anorter games like this
Nocturnal proves that a game doesn't need to be 80+ hours long to be a satisfying experience. It's a very short and sweet action platformer that's engaging from start to finish. The gameplay feels great and the art style/atmosphere looks amazing, especially when you're whipping your fiery blade in the shadows against enemies or building a path. Additionally, the level selection screen makes replaying previous zones super convenient as well. My only issue was finishing the game just a few points short of a maxed skill tree, only to find out I couldn't obtain any further skill points, even from replaying previous zones from the Level Selection Screen. Despite that minor issue though, I still highly recommend it. They made it free-to-keep for a limited time, back in April, which I thought was cool & generous of them. It's a fun game and honestly can't wait for the sequel!
A very short but really cool game with great mechanics Really enjoyed it ! It was interesting from the beginning, had a cool vibe, and kept me hooked the whole time. Definitely worth checking out. and I'm definitely going to buy the next game too.
Honestly, pretty damn good. Maybe not the best in its genre, and overpriced, but still a fun game that might be worth on a sale, or if you got it for free like me, then it's definitely worth a playthrough. In terms of gameplay, I have no major complaints. The game has a small scope, so I didn't expect a ton of enemy variety, combos and all that, but it's solid overall and hope the devs expand upon it. The lore is somewhat lacking though. I'm guessing it's going to be built upon further, but as it stands, all we get is like three dialogues and ~15 letters that are few sentences each. The only major problem is the price. 17 euro (or equivalent) is extremely, extremely steep for a game that took me less than 2 hours to finish, as per the in-game timer. Even on a 75% sale, 3,39 euro, I'd consider the price steep. I certainly wish the devs all the best and Nocturnal 2 is on my wishlist as of now, but the devs should really reconsider their pricing. Nonetheless, if you could get it for cheap, it's definitely worth playing.
Довольно прикольная инди игрушка, которая проходится буквально за несколько часов. Рекомендую.
If you love indie side scrollers, grab this bargain whilst its on sale now! It is easy to pick up, decent skills tree that is fairly easy to max out and the game itself is challenging enough in certain areas, without being too repetitively difficult to keep you engaged. Plays lovely on the Steam Deck! Expecting any proceeds to this game will go into the sequel which is likely much longer.
A short but enjoyable platformer. The combat feels fluid and satisfying, the visuals are great, and while the story is simple, it does its job. Overall, a fun experience that's definitely worth playing if you enjoy action platformers.
Short action-platformer with an intriguing main mechanic. Let me start off by saying that this game is for sure wrongly priced. It packs at most a 3-4 hour playthrough, including achievement hunting, containing a linear and generic experience. I know that it was given out for free at a time and that it's constantly at a high discount, but that still does not excuse it. That isn't to say that Nocturnal is a bad game, it's actually pretty solid. Combat is fluid with space for creativity with plenty of actions at your disposal, but fights become easily cluttered and frustrating to manage. I got by only by dodging and parrying because of how forgiving the game is. Enemies' patterns always play out the same, their variety is limited, and there's an "infinite" heal button with a short cooldown. Bosses were also few and easy to blast through. Platforming sections were fun but also unchallenging because of how much leeway you are given. Time constraints are very forgiving, you can dodge in the air, your character automatically grabs onto ledges, and time is slowed down while aiming. This plus checkpoints before literally every section makes failing almost meaningless. Puzzles are as straightforward as it gets with almost no way to miss the solution by just following the normal path. The art style is simple, clean, and beautiful. Worldbuilding was minimal, accompanied by a bland and generic story. No voice acting, but sound design was also great. The main action loop was what bothered me the most. The game expects you to fail and overcome sections through trial and error by throwing you into chaos without any prior signs and then reviving you at the checkpoint you took 5 seconds ago. This feeling of failure becomes annoying pretty quickly and makes you aware at all times. It also does not encourage exploration, at least not in the right way, since if you progress through the main path, it closes the path behind you and any areas that you thought you could explore later. Not knowing that you have to keep your flame on to clear some areas was also frustrating. Overall Nocturnal has a pretty solid base to work on, and I wish the developers luck in creating its sequel.
