An interesting and unforgettable experience.
i took an edible and played this game and had a spiritual experience that i will have to divulge in a big video about everything i played this year. cruel and evil and amazing, unlike anything else i've experienced to the point that i want to play it again even if i could read the book as a pdf. easily top five games i've played this year. there are a bunch of typos in the script with regards to spacing but in some ways i found myself appreciating them. talia is a rare generational talent and all eyes should be on whatever the heck she makes forever

If you like typing. I mean really... REALLY like typing. Like ... you like typing for three hours straight. Then you'll love this silly "marathon" of a short story.
The sheer audacity of these developers.
Heatstroke is an incredible existential story told in a hostile way. While unsure at first, I do believe that the medium in which it's told being an exhausting and grueling marathon hones in on what the story is trying to tell and forces the player to digest every thought and aspect of it, no matter how uncomfortable. I do however, feel like the 'horror' elements are underwhelming, and have their hand revealed far too soon in comparison with the rest of the game, becoming more of a dull expectation than a feature that you continue to be invested with its development throughout playing. Ultimately I would recommend heatstroke to anyone who loves reading stories, and is willing to invest several hours of focus for doing such.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
this is horrible and i must return to finish it. my shoulder hurts and its been a day. i'm tempted to launch it again but those first thirty minutes were so rough. as it keeps going it gets more draining, eventually i found myself crying as i typed. there is a fine line between masochism and self-harm. i will come back to this. i will read the rest of the story. i need to know how it ends. ok i came back to it and i gotta say it was great. heavily recommend tapping if you need to and coming back - its a lot easier the second time around and the prose is worth re-reading. i had a blast with this one, love the aesthetics, the constant oh ♥♥♥♥ i forgot about the wheel. had some close calls near the end & honestly thought there would be more when i got to it. It's a marathon, go in expecting it to take a while, don't rush, enjoy the scenery. if you try to power through it you'll break yourself.
Incredible game, an absolute fever dream but it was worth it. Finished it in about 2 and a half hours, maybe a little over. This game is physically draining, having to type for that long is EXHAUSTING, but if you're up for it then it's well worth it. My arms and hands quite literally felt numb by the end, but it was great anyway. The writing is incredible, very unpredictable, especially near to the end, and just absolutely amazing overall. It's descriptive and the imagery is great. The symbolism in this game is also great. This is a well worth experience, especially for how cheap it is.
Stories good but not worth the effort and game is kinda like self torture, i did finish though
Lowkey ♥♥♥♥ you for this one twin
