About
Hearthlands is a medieval/fantasy city-building real time strategy game in which you take a role of a king in a procedurally generated world. You can not control your subjects directly; instead you focus on city-building, resource management, diplomacy, magic and other things a typical king deals with on a daily basis.
The game is very flexible: you can build a powerful realm and rule the lands with an iron grip, or establish a humble fishermen village. Or create a trading empire. Or found a small, but well-defended outpost or a raider's camp. Or become a host of a wizard's manor.
All characters, from a humble hauler to a powerful wizard have their own minds and behavior patterns. Sometimes it is interesting just to watch people scurry about minding their own business.
Build a medieval city;
Play the game the way you like it: experiment with sandbox settings or play a campaign mode (ex. Polish localization);
Keep your people happy by providing them with necessary resources and services;
Gather resources, produce goods and build industries;
See reports and tune up your economy;
Build an army and protect your city from monsters and invasions;
Trade and conduct diplomacy with neighbouring realms, or go to war with them;
Research technologies and cast spells;
Challenge yourself by going after one of the many achievements.

Might not feel like the "best" implementation of any one aspect or mechanic, but certainly a fun city builder regardless.
enjoyable and relaxing well presented game
Amish village simulator 10/10 Great casual game to relax to with a bit of a challenge if you want it.
I bought this game when it first released. I've just started replaying it now (September 2022), and I'm still enjoying it. This is an excellent game, clearly inspired by the old Impressions city builders. It has city building, trading with other cities, and war with other cities. There's a campaign in which the combat can't be turned off, but also a sandbox mode in which combat can be disabled, If you're looking for a modern game with the same feel as those old Impressions games, I'm not aware of a better one than Hearthlands. My only criticisms of the game are: UI is a bit clunky, but it is functional. Graphics could be better, but like the UI, they are perfectly functional. As far as I'm aware there is no way to rebind the keys, although in this particular game that isn't a big problem.
Underrated gem, think Majesty x Impression Games citybuilders. Charming art style, surprising depth to gameplay, and interesting mix of mechanics that I haven't seen much in other games. Definitely worth looking at.
Well I will say this, It is a very interesting concept with alot of to dos under the hood, can it do it all right? not as of yet but if the devs listen to feed back and act upon them, this game has endless possibilities, I say support the devs, and help them turn this into a cult classic, and make it excellent. 6/10
Very cute Impressions-style city-building game. If you enjoy Pharaoh, Caesar III, Zeus, Emperor and so on... you will probably enjoy this.
Military Units get stuck on targets. You cant swap the target without sending the unit home first and then trying to swap the target while they walk back. Otherwise i really enjoyed the city building aspect but the military really killed it for me sadly
Solid game. The campaign starts easy but gets increasingly harder, took me a while to finish. Custom games make it really worth it.
