About
Healer’s Quest is a lighthearted Comedy RPG where you take on the role of the most underappreciated party member in any fantasy realm: the Healer. Joining a band of inept misfits - a bossy tank, a handsome archer, a depraved mage, and a raging barbarian - you must keep your party’s health topped up whilst simultaneously managing dwindling mana reserves.
Not only can your party be taken down when their health ebbs away, they can also be hit with a range of debilitating status effects. It’s like juggling with magic, and the crowd hates you. If you let party members die, they may well go into a sulk in subsequent encounters. Manage moods with magical curatives, death prevention, and witty dialogue choices.
Master 22 different spells to successfully buff your party to victory
Use in-depth skill trees and upgrades to carve out your own playstyle
Choose your karma alignment, each with its own dialogue options (Good, Evil, or Victim)
Secure legendary loot for your allies
Heal, buff, and cure ailments
Keep everyone alive to avoid moody party members

As a person who enjoys playing Healer/Medic in videogames, this is very much a letdown. The real time battle system doesn't work very well with this kind of game, with 4 healing targets and many enemies attacking at the same time it can be difficult to predict what kind of spells you need to use on the fly when you need to be focusing on healing your team. It just would have been so much better as a turn-based affair, the battle system is difficult and twichy and not very fun at all. The special moves of your teammates are also lame. Rather than getting to use all your spells, you are limited to 4 at a time, never seen other RPGs try to do that, it feels restrictive. The open world is almost nonexistant and extremely bland, and worse off most of the cast is unlikeable. I don't find the cringey 2010 era reddit humor funny, and constantly your team crapping on the healer and making fun of her, it comes off as juvenile and mean-spirited rather than satirical and entertaining. The writing is trying so desperately to be funny and lolrandom it's suffocating and off putting. The only character I wanted to succeed was my healer, everyone else is rude and unhelpful. The difficulty curve seems all over the place, even when upgrading myself I'd reach a new era after dealing with the battles fine to getting stomped. The amount of xp you get for battles is too low, even with any xp bonus, it makes the back and forth of grinding to get to the next area very snore inducing, the enemies never seem to drop any interesting loot either for the most part. Dungeons are SLOGS where you've got to get through 20+ battles to get to the end, hope you grinded for 3 hours so you can make it through and also finish the boss without running out of supplies. Pretty much a total flop in every way I can see, very little redeemable or charming about this title other than maybe some aspects of the art style. I can't imagine anyone who likes playing spellcasters or healers in RPGs or videogames enjoying this game at all, especially because it doesn't allow you to make methodical or interesting tactical deicisons and it's really mean spirited to healers in general, it comes off as grating than tongue-in-cheek, don't even recommend on sale.
I'm giving it a thumbs up even though I don't really like it. So, like I assume most people who bought it, I also EXTREMELY enjoy being a healer in ANY game that allows me to be one. So a game purely focused on that? heck yeah. The graphics are super cute, the humor is funny most of the time and the gameplay seems okay Unfortunately, it gets repetitive. Like. REALLY, REALLY quick. I THINK part of it is because you only get 4 (or 5) spell slots, and you get like 20 different spells to use. So it kinda goes from a healing simulator to more of a quick-time strategy game with mana-management. I was more looking forward to a game where, basically an mmo, you have a ton of different slots and picking them to fit the situation at whim. It doesn't help that the game is kinda difficult even on normal mode. You don't get to really experiment with other spells because there's not really any use-case for them. Maybe I was expecting too much from this little game. Otherwise, the game is great and I definitely suggest it to anyone who seems interested! I'm definitely going to come back in the future and give it another go.
As someone who enjoys playing as a support/healer class in most games I play, this is a very enjoyable game. It has a lot of meta humor and some 4th wall breaks, which adds to its charm. The music is pleasant and enjoyable while reminding me of Crash Bandicoot. The builds you can make a lot of different builds, however I'd recommend heal, remedy, shield, and meditate with focus mostly mana regen (meditate) and passive resistances (remedy). Graphics are nicely stylized and also pleasant. I do have two complaints for the game. First one being that there's no fast travel or a map for the over-world. It makes it difficult to track down any hidden treasure chests and finding certain locations. Not to mention, without fast travel for places you've already been too, makes walking there take a LONG time. Its understandable if the quest is at a previous location, so it makes sense needing to walk to that location, but could do with at least a teleport near it. While the map may be small, my biggest complaint for the game is that encounters happen very frequent and in about every 4-5 steps your take, making encounters overly abundant. This is the reason I ask for fast travel in the game. Sure you can flee each encounter, but I do wish for a more immediate fleeing options especially if I just wanna reach a certain location right away. Would be nice to have a ring for late game that helps avoid random encounters so players can travel to locations. Obviously story related encounters or encounters with cutscene should still happen to provide players with context and content, just random encounters in the over-world become annoying after a while, especially in sections requiring long walks, which feel like padding. Overall, I feel like the game is a solid 8/10, a good game for those like to see their teammates numbers go up and a fun little story.
amazing game
Note: There are some difficulty spikes near the end. Steam Deck Compatibility: Yes The game feels as if the Team Fortress 2 Medic, Moria (Overwatch/Overwatch 2), and Mantis (Marvel Rivals) got bored one day and decided to make a single player RPG game. 'Healer's Quest' is also like 'DLC Quest', it makes fun and makes a parody/satire about the good, bad, and ugly of the video game industry and gaming culture, mainly the mmorpg (and honorable mention, hero shooters) side of things. Ya play as the healer, who is in the worst party (as in worse case scenario, all team members are like horrible morons), and must save the day from evil. Despite that her (or his) teammates are narcissistic annoying imbeciles (Even the nice ones are mean). Review: I recommend the game for the ultimate healer experience, even though it's a singleplayer game. Plus, 'Healer's Quest' has an unique concept that I see rarely done in video games, playing as the healer/medic and experiencing their woes and joys. I do recommend this game to dps/duelist/offense gamers that wanna know what it feels like to be a healer. Better to play a singleplayer game and support an indie dev/company, than to jeopardizing one's elo ranks/ranking. Just to understand why some healer gamers hate dps instalockers/walk a mile in a healer's shoes. Achievement Hunter Notes: The game can get a bit grindy. Mainly concerning some of the achievements (like "Search For Power" and "New Power Unlocked."). Cards: 1 foil badge, 5 badges, 7 cards, 5 emoticons, and 6 backgrounds. The Point Shop items are relaxing, unlike the actual game.
everything is very nice in this game, except for the combat. and the game throws enemies at you literally every 10 or so seconds which feels like an attempt to artificially inflate the playtime but it wouldn't be an issue if combat felt fun. even on normal the combat starts to feel too frantic, tedious, and random very quickly. the game gives you a wide variety of spells and an expansive skill tree but some spells are obviously less useful or practical compared to other ones (at least when un-upgraded; and upgrading even a single spell to a meaningful degree requires an unexpectedly insane amount of grind, despite overabundance of combat, because leveling up is just so slow). you can only equip 4 spells at a time, yet it always felt like you absolutely must sacrifice one slot for smth that restores your mana and another slot for the status effect removal spell because those are applied by most enemies constantly, so effectively you only have around 2 slots to experiment with which is very limiting and frustrating. you can also simply cast taunt + shield on your tank and mainly heal him, and while this makes combat a little easier and less random but it's very unsatisfying that you have to use a specific op combo instead of experimenting with your build, it's even less fun. after enjoying the first 15 to 30 minutes and powering through and then simply suffering for the rest of my playtime, i was under the impression that the combat is just poorly balanced. and then i found out that there are some "hidden" options that can be enabled to make the game "easier" but there's a hint there where the dev warns the player against it because those options might ruin the the "intended experience" and you are apparently expected to git gud instead. ok but seriously, does +1 mana regen really make that much of a difference? certainly didn't feel that. and enabling all other "casul" options didn't really feel that broken, it just made the game feel slightly less frustrating and closer to what i would expect from a normal difficulty. why would you need to add these options if there's already easy, normal and hard modes? but the main question is, why tf did the dev decide to not let the player reset the skill tree at any time by default and make it a hidden/casul option instead? it should have been a feature enabled by default that can be disabled in hard mode or smth. all in all, very disappointed
muito gotosin pra quem gosta de curar
