If you are looking at this game as a Farm Simulator then this game will disappoint you BUT as a basic RPG then YES go for it its fun. The Most Dissapointed aspect of the game is that the farm that you get at the beginning of the game is just window dressing and no event is tied to the 4 months of the year. But everything else is either really good to OK at best.
More JRPG than farming sim. In fact, at times the farm felt like a money sink because turning crops into meals isn't profitable and you need to keep your ingredients around to craft food for combat, so you spend all your money on seeds and only occasionally feel secure enough to sell those crops for money without hampering your cooking potential. Judging it mostly as an RPG with a time limit each day, I had fun with the game and the story while it was around, the dungeons are paced well against the time limit of each day, the bosses are pretty cool, and so on. So if you're looking for a decent JRPG with ways to take breaks when you feel like it, it's a pretty good game for that. Though I got pretty bored of the farming by the time I was finished with the story (which was before the first year ended for me), so come for the rpg more than the farming.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 29: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

It's a fun, relaxing game to play when you're not in a competitive mood. Final Fantasy meets Rune Factory
This is a great game for people who enjoy games like Stardew Valley while also being a fan of Square Enix's other titles like Final Fantasy. The Game has a decent mix of farming crafting and exploring though admittedly the exploring portion does get old after a while and is the games biggest down side. The farming is nice and it feels great learning to automate your farms and getting the things you need to improve and generate money for use in your adventures however with getting a self watering going i found myself in the same dungeon for 5 or more hours for 3 or 4 sprinklers which cover 9 squares in the grid based farm. Overall tho the game was fun and the story was great and compelling but currently I'm sitting in front of the final boss unable to beat it but refusing to grind any longer. The feelings i have towards playing at this point are more of wanting it to be over than excited to continue.
TLDR: mostly good, some weak points, overall recommended for those who enjoy farming sims but want some combat/story attached. Graphics wise, hit the nostalgia factor for me since I miss the days of PS2 games and this looks and plays very much like a PS2 game. Story: not too much depth but it's pretty good, some unexpected plot twists made it interesting later in the game. Combat: Weakest point of the game IMO, it feels clunky at times since there's no dodge mechanics. Basic skill usage and limited info is given about buffs. Farming: Actually pretty in-depth, I had a lot of fun with it. Misc: Cooking & crafting is quite basic and straightforward, cooking food is the main way of getting heals during combat so it's integral to the combat system. Music & environments: excellent. The night time music and environment in each town is distinct and beautifully composed. Had a blast playing the game for over 100 hours
First things first: Is the farming as good as in Stardew? Frankly, no, but it's still pretty engaging. There's lots of things to grow, lots of stuff to craft and cook with the things you grow, and lots of space to do it in. Story: The story is actually really good. Surprisingly so! It starts out slow, but really goes some places. Combat: Hmmmmmmmm... It's sort of deep: there's a bunch of classes, skills, *attributes* to learn and exploit. But it's kind of shallow in that it's mostly a dps challenge with some minor positioning. Think of MMO combat but there's no tank or healer classes, so you better hope you brought enough juice to heal the unblockable damage. Relationship building: Each of your party members has a long quest chain over which you build relationship. But that relationship is mostly just for stat buffs until the post-game. The quests do have good story though. Sound: The music is incredible. It does get a little repetitive toward the end, but I never got tired of it. Go Shiina is one of my favorite modern composers. Graphics: Bright, colorful, stylish characters and environments. The art design is great, but the graphics aren't what I would call... system-taxing. Still nice to look at though. A minor complaint: If you're only interested in playing through the story and quests, you could probably do that and only minimally look at the farming aspect. There are enough wild materials to earn enough money to upgrade your weapons enough, and craft enough food and juice to live through to the end. This makes farming feel kind of unnecessary, and lead to thoughts of if the game would be better without it. But the farming is fun enough on its own merit, and filling the encyclopedia made my brain go brrrrr.
I came here for my cute final fantasy farming sim what do you mean I’m being slapped with existentialism-- Back when this game dropped in 2022, a lot of people treated it as Square Enix’s answer to the big “chill cozy farming life sim” trend that surged during and after COVID. That sort of created a mismatch of expectations of players coming into it expecting something like Stardew Valley or Harvest Moon. If anything, Harvestella is more of a JRPG in a farming sim trenchcoat. Which by itself isn’t a bad thing per say, but depending on what you’re looking for your mileage will vary heavily. On farming/life sim side, there’s your usual farming, fishing, cooking, and animal rearing. It’s “good enough” on the surface. Enough to give the game a comfortable rhythm from a day to day basis, but that’s the problem. This specific part feels very shallow, and doesn’t even come close to carrying the experience by itself unfortunately. Social interactions are minimal and barebones. You aren’t gifting villagers and party members to get their hearts up. You really just get occasional cutscene storylines for several of the characters that go on for several days/weeks that help you get to know them better. All in all, the farm is more so meant to create a daily routine that fuels the adventuring and dungeon delving part of the game. Combat and dungeon delving are more of the meat and potatoes gameplay wise, and mostly gets the job done. You attack, cycle through your skills as they come off cooldown, manage your stamina, eat food when needed, and repeat. It rarely demands much from you. Party members are nice to have, but they mostly act as background damage rather than major factors that meaningfully change how you approach fights. Bosses are also pretty easy for most of the game, only really demanding more attention near the final stretch. Overall, It’s not particularly deep, but it works well enough to carry you from story beat to story beat. The story and characters are where Harvestella shines. The opening starts off like a standard JRPG fantasy setup: your character has amnesia, a mysterious girl falls into your life, and each town near your farm has its own local crisis that the two of you work toward solving. The pace is slow, but does a very good job of building the world. Underneath the cozy town life there’s an air of melancholy, and the threat of Quietus hanging over everything adds to the feeling that something is deeply wrong with the world. Despite that, people everywhere are still fighting to find their place of belonging in a hostile land where even nature itself seems to hate them. All of this culminates in a climax halfway through the game that blows the door wide open on the setting, pushing the story into the kind of fantasy/sci-fi territory that will feel very familiar if you’re a Final Fantasy fan. The final moments are a little messy with twist reveals, but otherwise don’t detract from the experience too much. The characters are mostly awesome, with one or two exceptions. They’re very charming with lovely personalities, and have some very satisfying character arcs. Even if the social systems themselves are pretty bare bones mechanically, the actual character stories do a lot of heavy lifting. For me, Dianthus stands as the star of the show. Her design is badass, and her personality is wonderfully weird and stilted. Which sounds strange but makes sense later, trust. The way she slowly opens up to the cast with her awkward warmth makes her really endearing. In a way, she also represents the game’s themes as a whole as she learns what having a heart really means. Purpose, identity, humanity, and belonging. Best girl. Another thing to praise is the kickass soundtrack. Go Shiina does a fantastic job hitting all the right marks, whether it’s the emotional highs, the energetic battle tracks, or the quieter tunes that help give each town its own identity. “Innocent Prayer” is my personal favorite as a boss track as it really encapsulates the desperate, messy, grief filled tragic weight that surrounds the fight.. Can’t go into specifics without spoiling it, but its a good moment. Harvestella comes close to hitting the mark for me, but ultimately falters in many of its core gameplay areas. However that doesn’t stop it from telling a heartfelt story that still gave me some very good vibes. It’s not even close to the best game in its genre, but you’re not wasting your time checking it out.
