Enjoyable game so far. Would love to see an endless mode down the track.
Normally I avoid roguelikes like the plague, so it was a strange twist of fate that saw me playing a roguelike in which you actually fight the plague. Well, hordes of plague-ridden enemies anyway, amongst other undesirables like skeletons and goblins. I shouldn't generalise; one of the playable characters is in fact a very desirable goblin who's rather handy with the exploding chicken. I haven't played any other games in this genre, but I found this one quite easy to get into. Pick your adventure, pick your character, then fight enemies, collect experience, and gain upgrades until the boss appears. Repeat this on several levels to complete the adventure, or fail and start over. Either way, unlock new adventures and useful global benefits. This game is actually like a flipped version of the original Hand of Fate. That was a card adventure interrupted by combat, and this is a combat adventure (and the combat is much better) interrupted by cards. In each level there are encounter cards that require you to make choices and test your skill in quick shuffle and dice rolling games. The shuffle never gets old and success is very achievable if you watch carefully. The dice game results seem more heavily influenced by upgrades than anything else, but are enjoyable. The game is in early access and some of the equipment choices are currently much more powerful than others, but hopefully that will be sorted out soon. A recent patch added manual direction aiming, which significantly improved control of melee characters with mouse and keyboard. I mostly played the two melee characters, and the Rebel in particular is great fun, especially with sword range upgrades! Overall the game is great (despite the genre), and I would definitely recommend it.

once of the most interesting Bullet Heavveans in a while, combines the genre with hand of fate well.
Having played both previous Hand of Fates, and roguelike games akin to Achilles: Survivor and Army of Ruin, I really enjoy the blending of these two gametypes. Achilles and Army of Ruin always lacked a sense of RPG that Hand oF Fate brings in spades(insert card joke snicker here), it makes the level engagements much more varied and rewarding. I've only just played a little of this game so far, but you can bet your bottom dollar that I'll be sinking many more hours to come. A must play for fans of the genre.
Good progress so far and already fairly fun and playable at the start of Early Access. The gameplay is not an exact rehash of HoF 1 or 2, but instead a somewhat more chill Vampire Survivors style bullet heaven vibe that weaves in a variety of the classic Hand of Fate adventure cards to keep things fresh between runs plus some light metaprogression. As a fan of the first two games I am glad to see the classic Hand of Fate atmosphere and characters (especially my absolute fave, Bitterly Sarcastic Card Dealer) are back in an all new format.
How someone can play 0.3 hours of this and leave a bad review is beyond me, just peak moron behaviour there tbh. I've currently played almost two hours s0 far (on both Steam Deck and PC), and as a big fan of bullet heavens, I can say that I'm enjoying it a lot. For £8.00 there's a lot to this game, and due to the developer's past record I have faith that they'll work on it a lot and finally get to version 1.0 where I expect a lot more stuff we haven't already seen. If you like bullet heavens, deck builders and Diablo, you may as well at least give this ago. Nicely polished with some lovely graphics on max settings too.
Just felt like posting because I love these devs for the 1st 2 games and also wanted to address that a vast majority of the negative complaints are just invalid. You absolutely can feel incredibly powerful in this game and I feel like you can have a lot of direction with were your build goes. There is always a lot to do on the map but the objective is not to min-max every encounter but to try to complete the ones you want. The goblin is probably the best character and its fun to use the decoy. Overall i like have an active ability with each class, I do think this helps set it apart from the other games in this genre that mostly just have abilities with no input from the player. There is probably ~10-15 hours worth of gameplay until you get to the last map, more if you feel like unlocking everything. my biggest issue is aiming actually, i wish it was more precise to where my mouse is. Overall solid 8/10 for the genre
I played through both Hand of Fate (great game) and Hand of Fate 2 (less great) I think this is a great game. The charactre options are fun and interesting. The game play is generally your "survivor" type, but with some fun twists.
连续开了俩宝箱怪,连续俩大失败,这味太对了
