Fun little game. You don't move and you can either (auto-) shoot or vacuum-suck the XP gems - switching between occasionally. Not exactly heavy on content but it's crafted with love and care - seven hours into it I'm still looking forward to play more. I think the price is fair for this scope. The inspiration by Vampire Survivors is clear (XP and HP items even look almost identical) but this game diverges quite significantly and introduces a bunch of actually unique upgrades and combinations. It's also a bit more relaxing and streamlined since you only need the mouse. Not much else to say, you probably know exactly what you're getting, I'm just here to confirm that yes it's actually pretty good :)
This is my new favorite (usurping the excellent Talented) game in what I call the “Sprained Ankle Mage” genre - games wherein your character cannot move (I’m assuming a sprained ankle), but the enemies swarm you and you have to fight them off with guns and spells and traps. It’s like a “reverse-bullet-hell-auto-shooter-roguelite-static background because you don’t move-spell creation” game. Highly recommend. Get it.
I had some fun with this. If you like to play these sort of games, you may find some fun as well. However I have grown so annoyed that I cannot recommend it. I tend to play these for achievements. Since they tend to be light on content, it is a fun way to to kind of kill time. This game has made achievement hunting from a peaceful mindless grind to just frustration. As far as I can tell, this is only due to a bug. A lot of the achievements in this title revolve around hitting certain stat levels through choices on level up. Well my game as devolved into Sealed_key level ups. Bugged un pickable level ups. Meaning I often get only 1 choice on level up. As you can imagine this makes it very difficult to guide a build. Disappointment and frustration means this is a thumbs down from me. If your gaming style and goals are different than mine, this may be a good game for you. Take care out there!
It's okay, nothing exceptional, it's work well, there maybe a few "balance" issue, the meta progression is a bit grindy, but it's 6$. You will get a couple of hour if you like this genre Its passable, its doesnt have much staying power after like 3 hours or so. 6.5/10
Played On Steam Deck
I dove into Bulletmancer looking for a bullet heaven twist on classic roguelite gameplay—and in many ways, it delivers. My four runs were all over the place: two ended in under a minute, which shows how quickly things can go south if you pick the wrong spells or struggle with the controls. Aiming on the Steam Deck with a controller felt clunky, but when I did manage to snag cool upgrades, the synergy system was a blast. Seeing spells combine into new forms of destruction kept me experimenting even after some brutal defeats. Despite the quick runs (capped at 15 minutes) and promising progression system, it just didn’t click with me right now. I’m actually getting a refund on Bulletmancer, yet I’d still recommend it for players who love discovering wacky spell combos and don’t mind a tough start. If you can handle the punishing early moments and adjust to the controls, there’s a fun, chaotic game here waiting to be unleashed.
Nice little bullet hell game !
Is a great addition to a steam deck collection. scales well with increasing difficulty.
What a great game! I don't usually leave comments but I love this game so much, especially for the amazing interactions between spells. While most bullet hell have special synergies when some specific spells are maxed, this game allows players to find their own combos. (i.e. gravity control + accel gate + thunderbolt lol) Below are some suggestions and some bugs I found. Suggestions 1. Splitting into two bullets when ricochet/bounce + pierce are taken and a bullet hit a monster instead of applying pierce effect after ricochet/bounce (which seems weird to me) 2. Adding an overlay on the spell choosing screen to clearly show the stats (smite makes the white integers very difficult to view) 3. Adding auto-absorb option along with auto-shoot and manual (for the sake of cursed cursor only style) 4. Adding run history, at least for the latest run 5. Adding an option to allow speeding up the run to 2x or more (best if it can be enabled using a key like mouse4) Bugs 1. "ALL__" text appearing on the screen (probably due to finger glyph indicating all stat up) 2. No description for purified black lotus 3. No description for creation damage of cursed cursor
It is OK. some of the mechanics are neat. Having to choose when to suck up XP or attack does add some dimension to the game play. Very glad XP doesn't fade away. Would like to see more. Leveling is slow so you may not see many abilities in a run which can be hard. There are definitely some much better ones than others.
