Halo Campaign Evolved : 90/100 Combat Evolved is just as amazing as I remembered. The level design, soundtrack, and enemy difficulty are absolutely spot on. Anniversary was good, but this manages to build on top of it even further. That said, I really don't support their choice of Unreal Engine 5—it might genuinely be the most unoptimized engine I've ever seen. Still, I came here for the nostalgia and I'm leaving happy overall. Despite noticing a few issues and some annoying "additions," I chose to focus on the game's positives. Lastly, the newly added bonus campaign might easily be the worst hours I've ever spent playing Halo. I haven't seen level design, enemy placement, or mission/story progression this atrocious in a long time. Dear modern studios: please stop trying to force extra content into Remakes/Remasters—you clearly can't pull it off.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 4: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Tried for over an hour with various suggested fixes and community fixes to link my account and login and it kept getting bounced. Refunded the game.
I Loved it!
Brings back happy memorys
Don't listen to the hate, there's a great remake here!!
I’m playing exclusively on my steam deck LCD and having a lot of fun. The game is a blast and I already started replaying it. The problems I have ran into are issues with the enemy AI not noticing me and the graphics being shotty (probably my fault tho for playing it on the deck). I am also confused because they advertised the game as having a large sandbox, but I hardly ever found a needle rifle or BR. I loved several things about this game though. I haven’t had this much fun fighting the flood ever. 343 guilty spark and the library were levels I would dread on combat evolved. But I love playing them in the new game. I think the overall weapon design and use is wonderful too. The AR is actually a lot of fun to use. The skin options for chief is cool too. I’m hoping they remake Halo 2 and 3 as well. Overall, I give it a 3/5.
2183 people for a damn remake of a game originally made by 48 people and they somehow couldn't get it right. Let's start with the most obvious thing right off the bat, the text to speech. Why is it on by default? Why does it exist in a first person shooter at all? Do they think blind people will be able to play this ♥♥♥♥ in the first place? Then you start the game and it runs like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ because it's running on that unoptimized piece of ♥♥♥♥ Unreal 5 engine that modern AAA studios love to use because they're too ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ lazy to make their own engine and make their game enjoyable on reasonable hardware specs without having to use AI upscaling and frame generation. I could not get a stable 60 FPS regardless of my graphics settings. ♥♥♥♥, I couldn't get a stable framerate at all. Couldn't get it on high settings because the framerate would be at like 40fps so I dropped it down to medium, then low, and then very low and It made the framerate better... until there was stuff happening on screen which caused it to dip to 25 fps and it was somehow less playable than it was on ultra settings. Then you get to the gameplay and it doesn't get better. I boot up the prequel missions and maybe 30-40 minutes in, I was wanting to refund the game. What's with this prophet monologue cutscene, this was the worst Marvel tier slop writing I have ever seen in a game. It was worse than Halo 3's writing and at least Halo 3 had enough aura to make it the greatest game ever made. The characters are so so poorly written. On the topic of characters and lore, lets address SGT Johnson and Cortana. Why does Johnson look like Steve Harvey and why does Cortana look like Jerma? The game is already littered with recycled assets from previous Halo games, they couldn't have used the Halo 2A models that Blur studios made? None of the characters except for Cheif, Foehammer, and Guilty Spark delivers their lines correctly or with the same level or urgency or enthusiasm as they did in the original. Cortana sounds happy and drunk, Captain Keyes sounds angry, Johnson sounds like he's trying hard to sound cool rather than naturally being cool and suave like he was originally. And what's up with LT. Williams? Why does she have such a chip on her shoulder? I get that ODST's had beef with Spartans at some point but that was before the Human-Covenant war started and there wasn't a genocidal alien faction trying to eradicate humans. You'd think that anybody would be willing to put their ego aside and accept that humanity needs the best it can possibly get and especially after being rescued. Also that beef with ODSTs and Spartans would have happened long before Lt Williams was old enough to even serve in the UNSC. Also how is SGT Johnson a SGT Major in this? I thought he was supposed to be Staff SGT until Halo 2. Did 343i/Halo Studios retcon more ♥♥♥♥ that you have to read a bunch of books to understand? Let's move onto the gameplay itself. I do like that they added sprint, It makes it lore accurate but what's with the balancing? Even on normal you take like a couple hits and it completely knocks out your shields and health. The enemy AI is braindead too. Oh and did I mention the game is chock full of recycled assets from other 343 games because they're too creatively bankrupt to properly remake Halo CE's assets. It took over 2k people for this? All in all, it isn't worth shelling out $50 for. At the very least they need to fix the optimization and performance. There's no reason why regardless of graphics settings I shouldn't be able to get a consistent framerate and make it so that lowering the resolution doesn't force it into windowed mode which tanks the framerate too. There's more I can go on about but that's all I have for now.
