Generally a good game and faithful to the original. Most (not all) of the criticism is from people that have barely played the game. The bonus missions are fine but could have been better. For context, I have put 50+ hours into the game, completed the campaign on legendary solo along with all of the achievements. One big criticism I have is not showing which missions have been completed by difficulty using the shield and skull like old Halo titles. As it stands now there's no way to see what missions have been done which is... sloppy. Other big criticism is the lack of a multiplayer (as in PVP, not co-op). Pros: - Decent gameplay, some extra features vs the original, nice visuals, enjoyable campaign options, Cons: - Some glitches on remix mode (getting stuck and having to restart), no multiplayer, too expensive.
Good game. If you dislike the game you clearly haven’t evolved. Wort wort wort.

The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 4: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

8/10. Ignore the haters, this is a good game. That said, it does have issues. The graphics are great and the combat balance is really strong, but there are multiple glitches which should have been fixed before the release of the game. There were also a number of missed opportunites, letting marines drive vehicles etc. I would recommend this game but wait for a big update to fix the issues, then go for it.
Not worth full price, fun game though. Get on discount.
Having a lot of run, looks and runs great for me. Campaign is very solid and well done IMO. However it is pretty disappointing they didnt add multiplayer, feels like a huge missed opportunity. With that said I would buy on sale unless you are really looking for some nostalgia.
I think a lot of people gave this negative reviews for the simple fact that it's different than they how they remember the original game to have been. While I disagree with some changes, I overall feel like this is a positive improvement on the original CE. The aesthetics are gorgeous, the weapons feel great, and its got a fun gameplay loop that I keep coming back to. I think the way they tweaked CE in this remake made it feel new again in a way I quite enjoy, and I hope Halo Studios gives a similar treatment to Halo 2 and Halo 3.
Nostalgia!
pues el halo
Ah yes, Halo. Let me tell you about my history with Halo. Probably around the year 2000 there were some videos online about this new Bungie game called Halo. It showed a vehicle bouncing around in a semi-realistic fashion in an open game world. It looked like it was going to be an awesome game. And before that Halo was actually supposed to be some kind of real time strategy. Based on what we were seeing, we thought it was going to be a third person shooter of some kind. Later, me and my friend went to the Xbox launch party or demo event in Helsinki, Finland back in 2001. They showed Project Gotham Racing and Halo on the big screen. The volume was way too loud. So we went away and played the demo of Red Faction in LAN. At this point I think we already knew Halo was going to be an Xbox exclusive. That's about it. I never played Halo. I never really cared about Halo. It was just a game on a new console. There you go, that's my history with Halo. So I have no point of reference. All I have is a first time experience of Campaign Evolved. I only played it because there was nothing else to play and I thought I could spare a few hours fixing the gap I had left myself with for the last 25 years. The initial reviews did not show a lot of promise, but then some said it was a well made remake. I actually don't know how much changed from the original, but I'm guessing Campaign Evolved has undergone some degree of... diversification, in addition to the usual graphical overhaul. Apart from the indoor lighting going nuts all the time, I actually had no issues with the performance which is surprising because I'm still on a GTX 1080. It looks fine. Of course Halo always looked kind of cartoony and now it just looks cartoony with some extra polish. The guns feel ok. I'm not sure if they're supposed to be worse than back in 2001 because I still don't have a point of reference. The effects are ok. Grenades blow up nicely. Action is action. Between all this I thought am I supposed to be particularly impressed or...? I mean Halo is this messianic shooter legend of a game, right? Based on what I played I wasn't quite left with that perception. It comes across as a B-tier remake mostly, and what has been achieved with Unreal 5 tech now, isn't far off from something made in Unity. I've been told that the big idea in Halo was always how every combat encounter is this chaotic series of unpredictable events waiting to unfold. Based on my referenceless experience, for the most part, every combat encounter was similar. Have two guns and grenades and start reaping your harvest. If you run out of ammo, pick up something from the ground except the plasma pistol which is some sort of joke I guess. Vehicles that enemies may use add to the chaotic nature of open door fights, especially when the enemies are fighting each other and not just the player. Actually these outdoor scenarios were more enjoyable because the copy-paste Saturday morning cartoon alien corridors were far too common throughout the game. Anything that can fly or glide handles ok I guess, but which psychopath made the Warthog controls? Who the hell is responsible for this nonsense? If you want a better understanding of how this 4-wheel all terrain vehicle handles, well, forget about Jeeps. No, imagine a sink. Yes, a sink. Now imagine a piece of soap. Indeed, imagine a piece of soap in a wet sink. That is how this warthog controls. It slips and slides like the wheels are teflon on ice. The damn thing can't even stay still on uneven ground and just glides away with no concept of traction. Quite possibly the worst vehicle I've had the pleasure of driving in a game in the last 20 something years. Was it like this in 2001? I'm sorry, I have no point of reference. The video we saw over a year before the original game came out certainly did not conjure ideas of soaps and sinks. I'm at least now more versed with the Halo universe than before, but how did this really enrich my life? Mostly it was an average shooter with a soap car. And they actually left subtitles in that read: "They COULDN'T OF picked a worse enemy than the human race." Look, I can deal with the U5 engine quirks, but that level of incompetence gets an instant no recommendation from me. What do I think of Halo now that I've played it? I think I might like Halo a bit less. If I ever get to the other games, well, at least now I have a point of reference. Maybe not the right one, but nevertheless.
