I don't see what everyone is so upset about. This is a fun game.
Master Chief what are you doing this game? Sir, New Missions
The game does not close properly which counts a ton of hours for no reason, and it is extremely graphics heavy for a singleplayer game even at lowest graphics. The ai generation also looks extremely bad at times.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 4: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

After completing the main campaign and prequel missions, I can confidently say this is Halo Studios' (formerly 343 Industries) best Halo game. Although my overall view of this game is positive, it does have some issues. What I Liked: - Graphics are amazing, easily the best in the series; lighting and explosions look incredible in UE5. Environments look great and the Flood designs are by far the most realistic we've ever gotten - Gameplay was fun and felt smooth - Art style and game direction aligned with classic Halo - Prequel missions were fun (especially the Seraph sequence) - New weapons and enemies fit nicely with the game - New cutscenes included additional dialogue and sequences that were unique to this version - The Legendary cutscene was great What I Didn't Like: - Upscaling cannot be turned off (although I didn't mind that much) - When loading into a new area, the screen would sometimes stutter - You can't use the Stanchion (Sergeant Johnson's weapon in the prequel missions) - I encountered a crash on Keyes, which required me to download a driver hotfix (seems to only affect RTX 5000 series) - Some cutscenes abruptly ended without a smooth transition - Brutes were not very fun to fight; they were essentially bullet sponges. The "turn on their enemies" mechanic was cool, but it felt like the game was spamming them at you and headshots didn't seem to do much - Premium Edition feels overpriced; aside from early access, you just get an art book and some customizations for Chief's armor and weapons Overall, I enjoyed the game, but I think a patch would be nice to fix some of the graphical and performance issues. As for the new voice actors (Sergeant Johnson and Captain Keyes), I personally liked the old ones better but I do not think the new ones are awful. If you are unsure about the price or just the game itself, I would wait for a sale.
Just finished both the extra missions and the remake. As a childhood fan who has grown up reading the books and playing every game to date. I would say this is worth a buy at regular price or, if you are patient, on sale. Some spoilers on the new missions later on down. There are some good changes from the original that they made, especially on the levels "The Library" and "The Maw". I did not run into any graphical issues for the most part besides some dropped frames in specific loading areas, but other than that everything ran great on max settings. The character models take a moment to get used to as I've always felt unreal engine 5 models have been "off" slightly but everyone saying that Cortona looks bad only looks at the same picture of her and then complains. The majority of her cutscenes are fine. Lastly, people complaining about Johnson being different are mostly upset that the voice actor is different. I understand the sentiment as David Scully did such a great job but he is unfortunately retired. The new voice actor for Johnson did his best to give homage to the character and I enjoyed his performance. The gameplay felt good on heroic after turning down the aim acceleration. I struggled on the mission "Keyes" as holy cow the number of enemies is nuts. I found myself having to run past a lot of them, but that was the only truly difficult part. Also, the sentinel beam ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ slaps in this game! My opinion of the 3 new missions are as follows. Visually: great! Overall: There should have been more. The sad part is the 3 missions leave a lot to be desired from a company that wants to prove themselves. They should have added new things like Johnsons new gun would have been nice to play with. They played it too safe with everything we have seen before. They also changed up some stuff for the brutes making them dumber and their rage linked to some type of machine? Not sure what is up with that but I felt it was unnecessary.
The plot for the bioengineered covenant would have been cool if we actually got to fight them.
This is why the new missions leave much to be desired. My favorite part was getting to fly the Seraph which makes sense since it was the most unique thing but still similar to Reach's mission. My hope is that in the Halo 2 remake they continue this storyline as an extra campaign and really try to make some new stuff. Do I think this game is going to recapture the spark that every fan wants? No, sadly enough those times in the era of gaming are mostly gone. Playing this gave me the same feeling that I would have if I went back and replayed the original halo (satisfied that I played a good game). This game is not going to make you feel all giddy like you did when you first played Halo on the og xbox but that is because of how unique Halo was at the time.
huge fan of this remake! enjoyed the new mini story that takes place before the Main game. cutscenes are more fleshed out and the graphics look amazing! nice to see weapons from halo 2/3 the game runs really smooth no issues lag or stuttering. I dont really have any complaints for this remake so for me 10/10
(spoilers, obviously) Ya know, I wasn't sure what to expect with Halo CE V3. Given 343/Halo Studios track record, they were going to give use something we didn't want or give us an unpolished game...in a way, they gave us both. Halo Reach Evolved is not a let down. It pops in some juicy lore, some secret tidbits that book nerds will like and an expanded sandbox and environment that reflects the modern era of a video game. The Good (IMO) - This game is beautiful, I mean, jaw-droppingly gorgeous in the graphics department. I played Halo Combat Evolved at the ripe age of 5 or 6 years old. The modern hardware, graphics, textures, and feel helped recapture that sense of awe as "I" stepped on to the Halo ring for the "first" time. The guns felt great/satisfying to shoot. I'm not one of those "60 ROUND AR" guys, but the AR did make me feel unstoppable at even 36 rounds in the mag. The only extra guns I clung to in the new sandbox were the fuel rod, SMG and needler rifle, then again, I didn't see the needler rifle (in the main story) until the end of the main line campaign. The mission redesigns felt similar enough to feel familiar from the first time, and different enough to leave you curious. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVED the mission 343 Guilty Spark. The design, the atmosphere, the environmental story telling...pure bliss. This was what it felt like as a child, now just visualized realistically. PLUS the flood goop...oh my...it was very good. Lots of thought and care went into the flood and their atmosphere it looks like. I was also a pretty big fan of how the dev's worked with the realism of the POA's crash site and the warthog run, nicely done! And it felt great! The Middle (IMO) - The 3 bonus missions were okay. They opened up with very little narrative background and felt very rushed (despite being LONG missions). Still a decently fun experience going through those missions. One thing I was disappointed about was the teasing about the tension between chief and ODST's...pretty big let down in my experience. Johnson's and Key's voice actors threw me off a little bit, but once you get settled in to hearing things for a little bit, they were ok. Said it before, but the expanded sandbox of guns didn't really appeal to me. Barely touched an energy sword when I could have a magnum or shotgun. The needler rifle is the only effective weapon against the brutes I found. The sentinel beam didn't add to my experience, the SMG was a decent addition to the sandbox. I only ever found the battle rifle in the prequel missions, and it felt unpolished and not as combative or balanced as the needler rifle and magnum. The flood felt underwhelming, fighting them was a little too easy, they weren't very aggressive, and the frantic sprinting mechanic wasn't there...I did like the infection form animation on your helmet when your shields go down - feels like a nice call back to when Chief was close to getting infected. The bad (IMO) - This STILL feels like an unfinished game, even when receiving the "gone gold" a week before release. The AI broke my immersion so many times. As soon as I would feel fully "IN" the game, I would lose trance because patrolling covenant wouldn't hear the gun firing from 10ft away, or they would randomly stop what they are doing and get stuck on some weird part of a surface and patrol again. It ruins the urgency generated in situations when split second decisions are made. It made missions like Truth and Reconciliation way too easy. My biggest frustration with this was in the prequel missions. Johnson was a paper weight throughout 90% of it because I would either be the only target, or he would be stuck on something and I would still be the only target. I would say a good 2/3's of the cutscenes felt wrong. They looked great, but pacing, awkward standing or starring just made them feel wrong. I can't say I'm the biggest fan of the voice acting either. Performances that required a moment of urgency were met with unexcited and monotone acting. 7 out of 10.
It’s fun to a certain extent. Some of the difficulty balancing is very weird in this one, especially skirmishes with covenant vehicles. They just explode randomly. I saw glitches in halo I’ve never seen before too. But it is a fun remake but just not necessary especially if you already own multiple versions of this game. The whole experience just highlighted how solid and amazing the original was.
CE has been my favorite game since playing it back in 2001. Since then I've put hundreds into the campaign, did LASO, but eventually started to get bored with the game after playing it so many times. Campaign Evolved thankfully isn't just a skin, its a refreshingly new take on CE, and WOW is it beautiful. I'm loving my time with it so far. Also the pistol feels GOOOOD. 2 big negatives IMO: - No real-time cutscenes. For me messing with them in CE was arguably one of the most fun parts of the game. - No competitive multiplayer. I know it's CAMPAIGN evolved, but having an updated version of the original maps would be a blast.
