Halfway House

Liked it a lot. Excellent graphics. Like the best AVNs, the dev has a very good directorial eye for choosing the angle to show and how the characters are posed. And what lifts this one above many others is the excellent writing. The characters sound like normal people, and there is an interesting story to follow. With some AVNs it is almost like the story is an afterthought and is written to connect a series of pictures and animations. With Halfway House, the visuals support an actual story which would be interesting to follow in its own right. I am on Episode 4 now, and look forward to the rest of the stroy, wherever it goes. Thank you AZDev and keep it coming please.

C'est un gigantesque NON pour moi, le jeu est minimaliste: il y a de la musique qui n'a rien de remarquable, les graphismes existent... et ça s'arrête là! Les choix n'ont aucune importance, découpé en dix "chapitres" pour donner l'impression que si vous corrompez ou impliquez romantiquement les femmes a un quelconque intérêt, l'histoire est inexistante et surtout, ça ne vaut pas ce prix là: 18,49€! Prenez plutôt "Summer's gone" ou une autre valeur sûre du genre pour voir ce qu'est un bon visual novel!

HOW MUCH LONGER DO WE HAVE TO WANT FOR MORE TO THIS STORY?

Wasn't sure if I should get this one at first. But I took the plunge and I'm glad I did. Quick verdict, this is a great AVN. (top 10 percentile material) Good story, unique and beautifully rendered females (with strong personalities) The pursuit feels right. Thee MC is good (Not a dumbass) The story is thorough without being burdensome. Got a little long when you're talking to dudes outside the main pursuits. The current roster is great. Love the core 3 females. Thee others are alright. But I'd honestly be fine if it was just the three. This has a bit of slow burn. Well worth the price (whether at full-price or on sale). It does feel like the end is abrupt (possibly due to me just wanting more). It is mentioned at the bottom of the store page that future updates are on the way. Last note, for me thee early animations look more like moving pictures than actual animation. This gets sorted out near the end. By the end the animations are great. In the beginning they are rough. Seriously though this is a pretty kickass AVN. It will stay on my hard drive. Really looking forward to Episode 12 and beyond.

It's absolutely unplayable. The sheer amount of boring dialogue is ridiculous. Honestly, it's just boring.

👍 Recommended Halfway House surprised me in a good way. The story is engaging, the characters feel believable, and it's easy to get invested in their struggles and personal growth. The writing does a great job balancing serious themes with lighter moments, which keeps the experience interesting from start to finish.

Seemed like a fun game. Not sure if it is 20+ hours of material, I finished two paths for a total of 6.7 hours playing hours. I do not particularly like how often a decision point would occur and a button would pop up "Click this or . . no, just this" As in, how often there was just one button to click. Hard to make choices, decisions, changes if there is no choice to make. Don't get me wrong, I couldn't have done two paths if there weren't choices to make. There were occasions where three or more choices were offered, just disliked how often I had a button to push to continue and no choice to make. Just continue the story or give me options, don't just give me a button to push. heh.

Interesting storyline, great renders and engaging characters, would highly recommend!

從以前更新這麼多年到現在上Steam後仍然沒多什麼新東西，這是讓很多人詬病的點。 但儘管如此，Halfway House在我的推薦名單上絕對算是值得一玩的作品。 那先說關於色色的部分，如果你是衝著這個而來，那可能不太適合你。畢竟在商店頁面的影片幾乎是全部的內容了。 故事講述主角從少年觀護所轉移到中途之家學習與人交際、重新融入社會。 我很喜歡這遊戲的氛圍，以及角色間的互動(主要是一步一步陷落的Samantha以及天真可愛的Emily)，主角的性格也挺好的，大概就是很有正義感吧。 遊戲裡除了Samantha及其他配角的好感外，最主要分成Emily跟Ashley的路線。 選項會影響好感，好感又會決定場景，所以如果你是要蒐集全部場景，最好買個作者的DLC攻略，順便當作支持也不錯。 這款是我喜歡很久的遊戲，終於上Steam可以支持一下了。希望你們也可以試試這部作品！ 作者趕緊更新EP12呀！ 最後附上歌曲Ashley Jana - Feel The Fall，比起原版感覺這首又與遊戲更加貼切。 而原版的歌是Marisa Law- Will You Wait，這首很讚，快去聽(*´∀`)~♥ 如果你也喜歡歐美視覺小說的黃遊，那或許可以看看我的推薦名單～ https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198368081277/recommended/1045520

Halfway House is a well‑made AVN with attractive character designs and a story that takes its time to unfold. If you enjoy slow‑burn narratives with gradual character development, this one delivers. However players looking for frequent intimate scenes should know that the current build includes only a handful, mostly near the latest chapters. The AVN is still in active development, so don’t expect a fully finished product yet. What is here shows a lot of promise, and I’m genuinely looking forward to future updates, especially as more chapter and intimate content are added. My personal favorites are Emily and Ashley. Both are compelling characters, and I hope to see more H-scenes involving them as the story progresses. I also hope other characters receive additional content in future chapters. For anyone interested, there are also short Halfway House mini‑AVNs available on Oppaiman. They’re brief, but they offer a few extra scenes you won’t find in the main game, and some bonus gallery images in Halfway House actually come from those side stories. Overall, Halfway House is a solid AVN with great potential. If you enjoy character‑driven storytelling and don’t mind waiting for more content, it’s worth picking up. I’m excited to see where the developers take it next.
