Although the game does not feature a leveling or equipment system due to the story background, boss fights still offer a satisfying experience. There are 60+ decent H-scenes, some triggered by defeat in combat and others from interacting with residents of [b]Wes[/b] due to rising arousal. Although the game has many engaging elements, the lack of proper guidance support and fast travel feature within the town can make collecting certain scenes unnecessarily tedious. These drawbacks may warrant attention in future titles to enhance overall play experience. Overall, It is a recommended title for those who enjoy ARPGs focused on gradual heroine corruption with minimal guidance assistance.

In [b]Liese in the City of Trials[/b], the heroine once defeated the Demon King, [b]Liese[/b], returns to the city of [b]Wes[/b] by chance. During a rescue mission, she is attacked by a mysterious insect that lays eggs in her brain which turns her into one of the insect-possessed humans who are controlled by the eggs and experience rising arousal that drives them to seek semen. The player will control [b]Liese[/b] through the city of [b]Wes[/b], a map composed of 7 interconnected areas, interacting with NPCs to advance the story while resisting the corruption caused by the eggs in the brain and investigating recent incidents occurring in and around the city.
The game features real-time battles on the map. While this raises the overall difficulty (cannot adjust difficulty in the game), it also greatly enhances the gameplay. If [b]Liese[/b] is defeated by an enemy, an H-scene will be triggered. Repeated defeats by the same enemy may cause her to recognize them as the [b]master[/b], unlocking a series of related H-scenes and extra side quests. Boss fights also trigger H-scenes upon defeat, but it will end up directly to Game Over, so be sure to save before facing a boss. Since [b]Liese[/b] is already the heroine who has defeated the Demon Lord, her level and equipment are at the highest tier, so there is no system for leveling or changing gear in the game. Aside from the player’s own skill and experience, the only way to turn the tide of battle is by using potions to heal [b]Liese[/b]. However, the healing potions are limited in number and cannot be purchased. Using too many early on can severely impact later progression. In addition, the player must also carefully manage the [b]Energy Gauge[/b] in combat, as it is consumed not only when attacking but also when running to evade or chase down enemies.
The most disappointing element in the game is the lack of a proper guidance system. None of the events provide proper guidance or hints. Although the [b]Fortune Teller[/b] in the [b]Wes Administrative District[/b] will provide some hints, they are limited to main story quests only. Side quests receive no such assistance, and the player cannot view their current quests from the menu as well. Additionally, some quests are interconnected, and the player must rely on clues found in the [b]Recollection Room[/b] to figure out how to complete them.
For example (spoiler alert): [spoiler]After being defeated and trained by the goblin [b]Gorn[/b], he will ask [b]Liese[/b] to find and bring back a woman from [b]Wes[/b]. However, with limited information, not just any woman will advance the side quest. Checking the H-scene’s unlock condition in [b]Recollection Room[/b] reveals that [b]Lily[/b] in the [b]Wes Residential District[/b] is the one required to trigger the scene; but the player will find [b]Lily[/b] standing outside the [b]Bar[/b] in the [b]Wes Civilian District[/b]. The player must complete the quest between the Bar and [b]Lily[/b] in order to have her move to the [b]Wes Residential District[/b]. Additionally, [b]Liese[/b] needs to be in the arousal state for the event to trigger; otherwise, it will just be regular dialogue. Only then can the player bring [b]Lily[/b] back to [b]Gorn[/b] to complete the quest.
[b]Note[/b]: Some players might wonder why not abandon the side quest and continue with the main story? The reason is, after starting this side quest and until it is completed, the player cannot enter the [b]Goblin Cave[/b], which completely blocks progress of the main story quest.[/spoiler]

In [b]Liese in the City of Trials[/b], the player can find up to 68 high-quality uncensored H-scenes. These include various fetishes to satisfy different preferences, Though a small portion of the H-scenes use chibi characters for presentation and do not include HCGs. Additionally, the player can only unlock all H-scenes after unlocking more than 80% of the H-scenes… which can be a bit troublesome for most people.
