Half-Life

The story, audio design, the characters, the world design does not hold up for today's standards at all. I understand its impact on the gaming world but i have to be honest when reviewing these so 6/10

Half-Life was undeniably a revolutionary title and had a massive impact on the industry but if i were to say that it holds up today, i'd be lying to your face. throughout the entire game it feels as though your playing on ice and the enemy placement and level design is atrocious. the only reason i could see someone coming back to play this would be for nostalgia. i played this game for seven hours and was undoubtedly the most miserable experience i've ever had, if you want to play half-life, buy black mesa instead.

After all these years, this game remains just as good today. It features an excellent story and gameplay, it just shows that you don't need cutting-edge graphics to have a successful and fun game (plus, at the time, it was the best and most realistic game around).

Not a whole lot to say here, this game is hella iconic. And with the many times they have made this game free it makes me wonder at this point who doesn't have Half Life in their library. I will say there are sections in this game where it is hard to figure out what you need to do or where you're going, and some where enemy encounters just feel borderline impossible. I did end up using cheats mainly cause I didn't care too much about playing seriously, especially because I got the game for free from the anniversary promotion. Overall it was a fun and simple 9 hour experience to see what Half Life was like.

Uno de los mejores juegos de la historia. Sólo hace falta jugarlo y ver cuándo salió para darte cuenta de lo bestia que es. Muy adelantado a su época y diría que se inspira en algunos de los relatos de HP Lovecraft, incluso los nombres de donde te transportas al final recuerdan mucho a eso, inclusive el bicho final. En resumen, es una obra maestra.
