A fun physics puzzler about launching balls to collect items and defeat enemies. You start with just the ability to shoot a basic ball anywhere in a 180° range but as the game progresses you gain the ability to modify your shots with things like altered gravity, weight, and a good amount of other special ways. You can stack multiple modifications onto a ball but each mod you add increases the level of ball needed to fire it (e.g. a lvl 80 ball can be loaded up with a bunch of mods but you can only get one or two of the smaller mods on a lvl 20). The stages will give you a variety of balls of different levels so the game becomes about figuring out both how to remove all the obstacles and how to allocate your upgrades to fit the combo of ball levels given. Each level also gives you a star ranking based on things like how many shots remaining and hitting multiple targets in a single shot. Stars gained are cumulative throughout the game and the boss of each world requires hitting a total amount of stars. The requirements start low and skyrocket as you pass through worlds, sending you back through earlier levels to try to optimize them as much as possible. The game does help you with this by allowing upgrades gained in later levels to be used on any level you replay but it's still pretty high standards so be warned if optimization isn't your thing. The last to mention is the music and sound effects. They hit the just right mark of sounding nice without becoming overwhelming or repetitive through hours of puzzles. Collecting pickups feels good, defeating enemies feels good, just all around solid sound.

I've been playtesting Hackshot since its first prototype and loved every second of it. The game is surprisingly deep, it’s got a great mix of gameplay and story that meticulous players will appreciate. Music and sound effects are immersive and match the game's vibe perfectly. In a nutshell, you’re hacking files and breaking through security systems by shooting Cyberballs and tweaking their attributes. After a while, unique viruses and security setups begin getting into the mix, where you can use them against each other, and things go wild from there on. The story has the right amount of cliché hackers, with the relatable goal of getting rid of pop-up ads at first, but then it gets interesting. When you hack devices and get access to files, you start discovering new and even private information about the characters. This adds a layer of mystery and depth that keeps you hooked. I really enjoyed the humor in these files especially. Each level has multiple solutions, so you can get creative and get a personal playstyle going. Most levels are challenging and has new tricks or require using your tools in new ways, but also there is a lot of freedom on which levels to hack, depending on your preferences. And just not to spoil anything, there are so many hidden possibilities which you won’t see in your first playthrough, but will be discovered eventually, allowing you to basically hack the game.
Cool physics based puzzle game with surprising depth and plenty of care poured into it. Played the demo of it a while ago and I'm happy to see it has a full release.
I just started playing, but the game seems cool :)
I've had my eye on Hackshot for a long time now and finally got a chance to play. Like a slingshot but control gravity, mass, bounciness- if you have the points for it. It's a lot of fun- and gets better the further in you get as new mechanics keep opening up. Hackshot is an interesting hacking-themed puzzle game built on slingshot mechanics. The puzzle is in resource management and careful shot planning to beat a range of obstacles. It's thoughtful and fun. It's a puzzle game at heart but its hybrid nature will attract other players for sure. For more niche curation, follow me at: https://store.steampowered.com/curator/27440015-CSH-Picone/
什么玩意,乱七八糟的搞得像黑客一样,稀里糊涂进入游戏后发现就是弹球游戏,进入第二关还要看一堆乱七八糟的东西,受不了。 过了第一关的才17.5%,不评价了。
play this game if you love puzzle games and want to see great game design
This game feels like a vertical pool game with depth turned to an extreme. Its hack-themed visuals are so on point with trying to achieve the perfect shot sequence. The gameplay feels precise, iterative and makes you experiment with tools. I would love to spend a lot of time with this game, I recommend it.
This has such unique presentation and game play, well worth a look. The use of mods makes for great puzzles and challenging, yet forgiving play (due to a handy reset function) that hooked me early. Nails the aesthetic of 90s hacking while offering something much more accessible. This game continues to serve up nice surprises that make me want to find out all it has to offer.
A tightly designed puzzle game with some great funny set dressing.
