Gunhead is a fast paced strategic roguelike FPS where you take the role of a pirate mech with a gun for a head, looting derelict spaceships filled with monstrous drones made out of bone and steel. Sequel to the 2d roguelite Cryptark.

Aw man. I liked Cryptark a lot. But somehow Gunhead just doesn't work for me. - The visual theme has lost the moodier look of the first game in favor of a very generic rainbow color scheme. - The game completely fails to explain itself. UI elements and icons are in urgent need of some written labels to make it clear what exactly RED WIREFRAME BOX or SQUIGGLY SYMBOL means. *Some of those* you can look up in tooltips, but most you can not. - There are very annoying interface bugs that make the game even harder to understand. - I still haven't figured out how to edit my loadout the way we used to in Cryptark. Is that even in this game? - There is no ability to plan your route on the map, say by drawing a line or placing markers. - The whole hub area feels half-done, lifeless and unnecessary. I would have honestly preferred a menu. I'd like to say that surely the devs will iron it out, but...it doesn't look like it. Unfortunate.
pretty cool, very fun obligatory JERMA mention JERMA!!!! IT'S JERMA985!!! OH MY GOD!!!!
game pretty good i say it worth my wait however i think it need a bit more cooking i be honest cause cryptark set up such a high standard but hey it good i like the gameplay just need a little cooking may need a coop mode and a few mroe mech other than that everyone should give this game a try
Honestly, I was a huge fan of Cryptark, but found it way too punishing, and I want people and the devs to know that this immediately became one of my favorite games I own. I was never good at the first game, but this one I get this insane rush like I get from Doom Eternal, and I know it sounds like there's people writing fake reviews or whatever but honestly this game doesn't deserve the hate it gets. I just found this on sale, realized I had put i on my wishlist a couple years ago, and immediately bought it and didn't regret it. I'll update this later. Right now it's got so much polish and adrenaline in it I'm surprised it doesn't have good reviews.

Sequel to Cryptark, but in first-person shooter format, instead of a sidescrolling one. I'm not sure I enjoy it more, but I do enjoy it enough to recommend it.
yuh
to be honest i really liked cryptark with every character having their own unique quirk like rook having a shield but being kinda slow since he didnt have a dash like the starter drone and i ended up playing him a lot due to his op shield but i am dissapointed to find out he no longer has a build in shield and moreover, i think that his mechanic of needing to jump instead of fly is honestly a terrible trade off for more health. i would have prefered him to have his shield and jump (although i think opting to make him jump was slighty lazy in terms of creativity) honestly it just looks to me like: Gunhead --> og, cool. archangel --> nice, unnique, good trade off. Rook --> copy paste of gunhead but different weapons (no different innate power). Jennet --> uniqie, zero G is a nice touch but still no different innate power (left shift is still a dash). Shinobi --> cpy pst from Gunhead with different starting weapons. tigersnake --> havent played him but by the looks of his loadout im assuming its just another cpy pst of Gunhead with a different starting weapon. honestly i mildly like this game and its a fun sequel to cryptark but theres really a large lack of creativity. its basically the main game with bad starter characters and bosses every now and then. id refund if i could but i came to my realization before i could refund. i hope Alientrap reworks a lot of stuff in the coming time. otherwise Gunhead is going to become a book on the shelf of "wasted money" weather you read this far or just jumpped to it i just want to let you know that i loved cryptark with the different loadouts, creative characters with slight differences that just pass as unique and i get that making a sequel to something is usually not very easy but at the end of the day im just not feeling the same spark as cryptark on this one
