Dead genre, Dead game
The main idea of any fighting game is pretty interesting and sounds already much better than literally any other online competitive game. But unfortunately literally every fighting game looks much worse than its main concept.
1. Randomness
Sometimes randomness can make someone a winner of battle because some characters have confusing series of attacks. You literally can't react to defend yourself. it's just not possible for a human. The only counterplay for such mixups is... prediction.
2. Matchups
Sometimes it's literally almost impossible to win in some duels if your opponent is not afk. And that's all due to your own character. You can win in such fights only if you are 2-3 times stronger than your opponent. For example Your character is pretty slow in every sense but has good range with good damage but your opponent's character is pretty fast in every single sense and also has good range but small damage. Most likely you will lose because you literally cant attack such opponent. Every time you try to attack you will be punished with the enemy's attack because your opponent's character is much faster. You literally can win only if you are 3 times stronger and smarter than your enemy. In 99.9% of cases such an opponent can lose only if he is playing this character for the first time. This is not a single example that can be found in this game. HHere you can find quite a few bad matchups Btw this iss the Nagoryuki vs Bridget matchup
3. Very bad tutorial
If you have never played fighting games before then better not even think about it. Literally 90% of the community of fighting games has been playing this genre for their whole lives. The other 9% play only with friends. Literally, there is a 1% chance that you will find a novice here You literally must spend hundreds of hours just to try to get closer to the skill level that most of the community has. You may have heard that this game has a good tutorial but unfortunately, that's a lie. Most of the time, you will spend on the internet looking for guides. You literally can't find most of the really important information that you must know in this game (for example, frame data, character guides, matchup guides, combos, normal descriptions of skills, etc.) You cant even try a character with his skills in fights vs bot if you haven't bought him. You literally must buy the character even if you just want to test some skills and learn his strong sides. Even if u dont want to play with this character in real match...
3.5 Combo...
If you have never played games before where you can do combinations of attacks then it will be very hard for you to play this game. You literally can't do any good damage without combos. You may be the strongest tactician with good reaction time but you will most likely lose anyway even if you dont know combos. you can literally catch your opponent off guard 7 times, and he will be at 40% HP. But if your opponent knows combos he can still EASILY win by doing 3 offensive moves with combos that deal 40% HP damage. The main problem here is a large number of combos for every situation and complexity of execution. You literally must press 5–7 buttons per second with CORRECT TIMING for several seconds. If you make some mistake in a combo then you will most likely be punished with the enemy's attack. By the way, you must know at least a bit of all these combos if you want to know how to play against different characters and win. At the very least, you must know the different conditions where your opponent can start an offense with a very strong combo
Conclusion
If you have never played fighting games before, then better not try. It's a dead genre with a community without novices. Creators of such games are just trying to milk core community until it dies without creating really good conditions for new players. They just want to get as much money as they can until this community dies instead of creating really good games with good QOL. They are just trying to do minimum requirements for the core community to get their money. Nothing more They are so lazy that they cant even make normal game modes This game has had 2 different ranked modes and a completely dead 3v3 for a pretty long time already. It's pretty strange considering fact how small the number of players in this game. However, you can buy it if you want to play with your friends. It can be pretty fun But I think literally anything can be fun with friends. If you have played a lot of fighting games before, then you can try this game Here you can find several pretty interesting characters that can make you love this game if you are ready to spend a lot of time improving your skills The only good thing in this game is style and music.
