I love this game's art style and difficulty. The only problem is that you have to constantly replay the early levels.Would love for there to be awarp zone on one of the earlier levels though to maybe stage 5.
Fun 80s-style arcade game of a mixture of Dig Dug Meets BurgerTime with a Spooky coat of paint!
GuardGrave feels like a long lost classic rom, that you discovered on m.a.m.e and thought, wow how come I never heard of this game ? But it's more then just a long lost classic, it's a modern classic and overall just a really fun game ! Especially if you play it together with a friend or family you will have a blast and not get bored so fast ! It has this, one more round before I stop feel, that many modern games lack. Monster Bath Games really do know how to make fun retro games that feel fresh and new at the same time. GuardGrave is an amazing 2D one screener that pays homage to classics like Bubble Bobble and Burger Time. It has the best elements of all those classics and adds many new to them. It brings back a wave of nostalgia while at the same time delivering fresh, addictive gameplay. The Pixel art is spot on, has even a tate mode and CRT and scanline filters. The music is by the musical genius Gryzor87 who understand game music like not many, and gives the game the right atmosphere with its earworm like tunes and melodies. If you're a fan of old-school side-scrollers with a modern twist, GuardGrave is an absolute gem. A modern Classic. It's like a love letter to the classics, sprinkled with its own unique charm. 10/10, would recommend to anyone looking for a pixel gorgeous fun and addictive platformer, Guardgrave is a great entertaining gaming experience.
Fun, challenging and very addictive.
Brilliant old school fun. Perfect pick-up-and-play "new" 80's arcade game.
I was never a huge fan of Burger Time but the way Guard Grave has taken that concept and run with it is genius! I love these type of old school ideas with a modern twist and this is one of my favourites. I suck at them so was glad that there's a kids mode which allowed me to complete it! The Cat pharaoh is the hardest boss but once I got past that and realised I could use player 2 to keep going, I was able to complete it! The graphics and sound are fantastic. The controls are great, and the extra lives handed out are generous. You need to figure out the boss patterns to beat them but they are not complicated. I might drag my son off Marvel Rivals to play this with me so I can experience Guard Grave in 2 player mode but until then, time to play regular mode!
Fun old-school arcade platformer, easy recommendation
This game feels like bubble bobble. Very nice music and great sound effects. Challenging game not easy. Great humour elements. No exit option the only way to close this with ALT+TAB and close window. Game feels like Old School arcade machine in your pc. I respect people who still create old school arcade games even in 2024. Keep them alive as long as possible. Support developers it's only few $$ but pleasure is unlimited =]
Great arcade fun and easy to access for any skill level. Kid mode is nice and easy to get the ropes and eventual first play trough. I see no negatives in this limited scope of a game there is e.g. shut the coffins -> collect money -> beat the boss and move on to the next world. Things get complicated on the way of course but not too much unless you dial up the difficulty. Few have beaten the game on hard.
