BATS: Bloodsucker Anti-Terror Squad

Somehow I missed the release of this game.. I regret it! I got my hands on it after checking out the rest of this developer games and decided to give this one a shot too especially with such a cute bat.. (Ok, I'll be honest.. I saw the bat and went to check the rest [all..] of their games that I had) I was amazed by how well made their games are and this includes this one as well. Considering and their initial prices and discounts it's 100% worth getting them. Here you play as "Dracula" and later on and as different unlockable characters, collecting blood to try and stay alive while killing your zombified enemies and progressing those hard -but fair- levels. You'll need to familiarize you're self with the game and actually learn how to play it to beat it. It requires skill and it is not based on luck. At times, you'll get frustrated but with each try you'll get a little bit further and one step closer to the satisfaction of beating the level and eventually the game! Along side you, this cute bat from the videos and screenshots will be from time to time, depending on how good are you at keeping it safe! Well.. I'm trying for sure.. I love it! The controls are extremely convenient, easy and responsive. I haven't encountered any bugs so far except 1-2 times (out of many) a slowing down effect (probably some frame rate issue) in a certain level. But still it is not enough to make you lose or cause a problem as it fixed itself when I died (and my death had nothing to do with this issue). The boss fights are satisfying to play and beat and you'll fill joy and pride upon doing so. I can't see myself easily making the speed run but maybe.. It's a game that makes want to try this out for a change! It's just so much fun.. And when you die, you'll want to keep on going to finally make it, instead of the usual thoughts of closing it. From me, it is highly recommended for everyone at any price (initial or discounted). I haven't finished everything with the game yet. My estimation is a lot more than a few more hours to get every last single bit of content. But they joy doesn't end with the game end.. That's the beauty of it. And while you are at it, check and the rest of their games. Everyone is different, unique in its own way and above all FUN! Have fun with it! And good luck mastering it! It is what we call.. BATS is an okay action game that lacks quality of life features that could have made it much better. There are 6 linear levels that are equally annoying and entertaining. They end with a boss fight that's pretty much learning the pattern. There are five different characters to play, but they all do pretty much the same thing. There's a dodge move, but I never used it. There are special abilities, but I could never get my blood gauge filled because I kept getting hit. I managed to beat the game in two sittings. One thing that annoyed me is that the game doesn't save your progress. I got up to the 3rd level and had enough so I quit. I later found out that I had to start the campaign from level one (which includes a tutorial). The game does save the progress you made in getting new characters, but I didn't like that I had to start the game all over again if I quit. Not bad, but not great. You could do worse with $10.

BATS is good gory fun! Retro vibes, unique gameplay and blood everywhere. What more could you ask for?

[h1] ヴァンパイア？いいえ、ブラッド・サッカーです！ [/h1] ・・・頭文字の「B」が欲しいから？ 政府直属の特殊部隊「B.A.T.S.」の面々を操り、テロリスト集団首領「スコーピオン」を倒そう！ 敵のアジトには危険な罠がいっぱいだ！血で血を洗う激闘が待っているぞ！ だが安心してくれ！我らが「B.A.T.S.」の精鋭達は皆「吸血鬼」！ 血を浴びれば浴びる程、その特殊能力を存分に発揮出来るんだ！吸わないよ！[b] 浴びるんだ！ [/b] 愚かな悪漢どもに、夜の支配者の恐ろしさを教えてやろう！！ …まぁ、雑魚にも秒で殺られちゃうんだけどね・・。 [hr][/hr] タイムアタックを念頭に置いたであろう造りのプラットフォーマーです。 プレイヤーのアクションは限られており、雑魚も一撃で屠れます。 アクションゲーとしての肉付きを極力削ったシンプルな仕様ですが、ちょっとしたギミックなどのアイデアでゲームプレイに抑揚を盛り込んでいる印象です。 雑魚のHPを多彩な攻撃やコンボで削る～とかを期待すると肩透かしを喰らうかもしれません。 おまけに（前述した様に）1ミスであっさり死ぬ（HPブーストは可能）ので、人によっては「思ってたのと違う！」となるかも。 攻撃手段は近接格闘のみ（銃撃キャラもいるがこちらは近接不可というピーキー仕様）で、敵やトラップの隙を見極め的確に動いていくのが攻略の肝になっていますね。 [h1] これはトライ＆エラーな高精度プラットフォーマーです。 [/h1] ただし、鬼畜難易度では決してありません（タイムアタック時を除く）。ゲームとして破綻もしていない良い造りだと思います。 そこにHPブースト（後述します）という恩恵もあるので、[b] 求めるゲームジャンルさえ間違えなければ [/b]楽しむ事は出来るでしょう。 ちなみに残機やゲームオーバーの概念は無く、死んだら自動でステージ最初からのリトライになる「タイムリープシステム」です。トゥットゥルー♪ [hr][/hr] [h1] 以下、ゲーム内容の良かった点 [/h1] [b] 〇プラットフォーマーとしての達成感 [/b] トライ＆エラーの末に得たものだけど、やっぱり気持ちいい。 [b] 〇プレイアブルキャラが多い [/b] （※捕まってるのを助ける必要あり）それぞれ個性があり、差別化もされている。 [b] 〇ヴァンパイアモード時の演出 [/b] 一部のキャラが使える強化モード。エモい(笑) [b] 〇セイバー兄貴が頼もしい [/b] [strike] ブレイド [/strike]兄貴！パネェっス！・・この人居なかったらタイムアタックきつかっただろうなぁ・・。 [b] 〇オーマイガー！ [/b] 最近「オーマイガー！」を聴くと癒されます。病気でしょうか？ [hr][/hr] [h1] そして残念だった点 [/h1] [b] ×HPゲージとスキルゲージの同一化 [/b] 吸血鬼さん達はデフォだと1ミス=1デス。敵を倒したりマップに配置された「血液アイテム」を取る事でHPゲージを溜める事が可能。 ただし、固有スキルなどの使用時にこのゲージを消費してしまうので、スキル封印かノーミス前提のゲームプレイになりがち。 コレは最初の頃、かなりモヤっとしたかな。慣れてきたらゲージ管理込みのプレイも楽しめる余裕が出てきたけど。 [b] ×首狩りスキルの存在感 [/b] 空気です。ハイ、クウキスキル。最初のチュートリアルでも教えてもらえる敵の背後に回り込み首を狩るアクション。 狩った生首(笑)は敵などに投げつける事が出来る。。。のだけど。 貫通性能あるならまだしも敵1体にしかヒットしない上に、ゲージコストもクソ高いのでまず使わない。飛び込んで蹴った方がマシ。 [b] ×ステージセレクト不可 [/b] タイムアタックの為に後半のステージを練習プレイしたい時、ステージ1からしか始められないので不親切に感じた。 [b] ×流行りの80年代風？ [/b] トレイラーだとそんな雰囲気醸してるけど、そうでもなかった。BGMもシンセなんたらっぽいの期待してたんだけどなぁ～。 （BGM自体は悪くない） [strike] GIジョー [/strike]っぽいアニメのゲーム化だよ！ってノリはレトロで面白かったかな。 [b] ×ミッツィー（プレイアブルキャラ）の性能が微妙 [/b] 翼を持ったキャラだからもうちょい特異な飛行能力あってもいいんじゃないかと思った。 固有スキルの「ダイレクト爆撃」もゲージコスト高過ぎて使えない。ホント、飛んで蹴った方がマシなんだってば・・。 [b] ×またお前か・・。 [/b] ボス戦は毎回スコーピオン様が出陣。四天王とか幹部とか居ないのかよ・・。 まぁ、毎回攻撃パターンが全然違うから楽しめたけど。。 [b] ×血液アイテム回収時の謎のタイムラグ [/b] ※パッチで改善済み（即回収が可能に） コレはかなり不満だったので改善されてなにより。ミッツィーのバフも是非とも・・。 [hr][/hr] ハイ、こんな感じでしょうか。 ボリューム面は「タイムアタックが地獄にならない程度」って言葉で察してください。 こういうボリュームが控えめなゲームは、「累計キル数」とか「開いたドア」みたいなステータス記録が閲覧出来る様にすれば、コンプリート後も引き続き長く楽しめると思うんだけどなぁ・・。 全てのアクションゲームに、【実績】とは別の「ゲーム内実績じゃないゲーム内実績（なんじゃそりゃ）」の実装を求めますっ！ 【閑話休題】 昔のFCみたいな面白バグがあったり（リトライ時に直前持ってた生首持ってスタート！には笑った）もしましたが、結構楽しんじゃいました。 たまにやりたくなるくらいクセになってるかもしれない。 吸血鬼ジャンルは大好物なのでシリーズ化希望！次はヴァニア系とかの別ジャンルで！ 不満点ばかり挙げた気がするけど（苦笑）ゲームとしての出来は良いので、「トライ＆エラー」や「プラットフォーマー」が好きだ！って人にはお薦めかな。

Juego que apunta muchas maneras, con un aspecto pixel art impecable. Pero tiene a mi parecer, para lo que ofrece, un precio excesivo.

Jeu très court à finir en mode normal (sachant qu'il n'y a pas de mode difficile, ni facile. Il existe deux autres modes, un Speedrun et un Boss Rush déblocable en finissant le jeu. Coté direction artistique le jeu se veut rendre hommage au jeu des années 80-90 et aussi aux memes des années 2000-2010. A essayer pour ceux aimant le genre et voulant un petit défi.

A very fun game. It is essentially Bro Force with Vampires (lots of explosions, humor and so much blood). My only complaint is that it is quite short (I've already beaten it twice with less than five hours of play time), but it is certainly worth the buy when discounted.

Kleines 16-Bit-Like aus alten Zeiten. Aber insgesamt nicht der große Renner. Trotzdem Daumen hoch für die lustigen Sounds..

Surprisingly decent little horror inspired 2d platformer/beat em up.

No estoy del todo convencido: Tiene a favor que es divertido, hay buena variedad de enemigos para el tiempo de juego, los personajes se sienten diferentes y tiene una buena curva de aprendizaje. En contra tiene que es muy corto, no provee una historia y no hay checkpoints, por lo que tenés que pasarte todo el juego de un saque, no te guarda el progreso. Está bueno para tirarle unas dos horitas, unas 5 si te gustó mucho y le querés sacar el 100% (Que de momento no cuenta para el perfil ni la cuenta de juegos perfectos)
