Gratuitious Space Battles is awesome, this game is not really worth playing though.
DISCLAIMER: This is my personal opinion. It is highly subjective. If you don't like it, just thumb this down and purchase the game. It's none of my concern. It's a tower defense. Get Gratitous Space Battles instead. Spaceships > Tanks
Not good
Perfect as it allows to also play reverse turret defense - send vawes of units against a defending AI! You can design your own units and even color each part of the unit. Game works as a charm, no issues at all. Still very replayable and funny.
I can not make any of this work.
An interesting tower defence game with customisable unit set up and pretty fun gameplay. It feels really grimy and dark, like actual trench warfare.
Ah, GraTaBa...! I remember buying the game years ago, to play on my 1st Apple Macbook (we're talking like 10yrs ago). It's basically a TD-game, but with a LOT of tactical choices & units you can customise "to the final screws". All of this made preparation become great fun. However, I also remember the battles being quite frustrating: Placing a tow... erm: unit! a tad too far to the left/right can potentially ruin your day, when enemy units pass by, and you are condemned to watching, as your unit(s) will just not find any motivation to do what you placed'em for... Playing on a Macbook (for which I#d bought the game), I attributed this lack of balance to a lack of CPU/GPU/storage-space, leading me to putting GraTaBa aside for a while - until 3 days ago, when I felt the itch to return to the game: Albeit, and very much to anger & irritation, I found that by now, the game will not run on Mac anymore AT ALL...?!?! I understand that because of Apple's switches, the most recent being from Intel to "A. Silicon"-chips, software will stop working - and for the switch before (from 32 to 64bit), STEAM's explanatory sentence (placed below the "required spec" listings, thus causing the anticipation when seeing the "macintosh"-logo -rare enough- & checking the vids/pics and descriptions, to turn into frustration & sadness with the VERY LAST sentence), this explanation I've seen often enough to recite by heart... Alas, I've never before seen a game with an entire class of compliance (Mac) removed! (making me think... I did run a WIN-partition on my 1st Macbook... ah, too long ago to clearly remember, anyhow I digress. Well, whatever... as for a certain percentage of my games I cannot access anymore (over at a different vendor's site, the exact quota is easy to remember: 100% unusable software; would LOL if it weren't for that much money), I am unfortunately unable to convey more recent experience with the game, for which I hereby apologise.
DISCLAIMER: This is a first impressions review, and NOT a full review, if you want a full review, then please read better reviews then mine
Gratuitous Tank Battles is a game developed by Positech Games, the same people behind the Democracy series In Gratuitous Tank Battles you fight in the future on planet Earth trying to survive the onslaught of enemies heading your way. The game's style is that of build and run, which is; you go into battle against a fleet of enemy ships, you place your tanks in a layout, you program orders, you click 'Start' and you wait. If you wipe out the enemies, you win! There is a set amount of great game mechanics there, and a pretty extensive customization range. The game also offers great visuals too, especially for a 2D game and there is a lot of strategy involved when planning your attack Gratuitous Tank Battles is a fun game to play in short bursts!
RECOMMENDED :)
A genuinely original take on tower defence. Lets you play as the attacker as well as the defender, and you can upload your attack online so players can try to defend against it. Rather buggy, but you can hardly blame the dev for giving up on the game considering how little attention it got. It really deserves to be given a chance. At least try the demo.
Yes, good easy time killer. Not as in easy, just not hectic. Time shown doesn't include all time played.
