TLDR: Not a bad game, just tedious and so fundamentally different from what it's marketed as that you're bound to be disappointed if you expected a crafting and shop focused game. I don't hate this game but I really feel like I'm just wasting my time. What seemed like a really interesting puzzle mechanic is actually just tedium. You figure out what is good/bad by making the weapon 1 at a time (batch orders won't give multiple hints...) until you get all the info you need, then roughly determine where the balance point is (after some practice, I'm almost always right now). You don't really have to figure out anything, though doing some guesswork and listening to the feedback hints helps you get it SLIGHTLY faster I guess? But then you've unlocked that recipe and it's going to be the exact same every single run. Element enchantments are very bland with no real function and it's pretty obvious what matches with what. The alchemy system, while I'm not very far into it, is so far and away from what I expected that I'm super disappointed in it. I thought the alchemy modified the weapons in some fashion. It doesn't, it just adds dumb meta effects like making the kingdom you sell it to more likely to go to war. I don't know what all alchemy can do later on, but to me it feels obvious that what I was promised isn't what I received. We should be able to do better than "combine two ingredients with the effect of X to make X potion" by now. The crafting system is pretty creative at first glance, but they didn't *use* that creativity to create meaningful gameplay. It's an execution problem. Most of what happens with kingdoms is pretty pointless too, as it's too minimalist of a simulation with little to no feeling or character behind it. Also, you don't actually have a shop you manage, just an island that gets upgraded each run. It's basically the most boring rogue-like you'll ever play. Yet it does its mechanics as a rogue-like decently I guess, but at that point the only real challenge in this game is mercantile related, such as who to sell to, what's most profitable to craft, and watching the materials stock market that changes constantly. This game completely misses the mark on what its core appeal is in the first place.
This is two-plays-game. First time you learn. Second - you play. Unless you fail with money debt - this will be the last one. I see no reason to play for the 3rd time. And even 2nd time was boring as hell in the middle. I don't even know what may change the game so that it will become interesting. Overall it is a good game technically. But boring overall. I've spent many days in game dev tycoon (mostly with mods) and some other similar games. All of those were much more interesting.

Was soll man zu diesem Spiel sagen?
Alors oui ca rappelle effectivement game dev tycoon.
Game is quite good, but it gets very repetitive really fast. The premise is to command the forge for 15 years through 3 ages, each unlocking new stuff. That was nice. You basically control world as towns will wage wars and depending on who you supply they will win or lose. Forging process is nice, but as already said, repetitive. Bad part is that game has much to improve in term of optimisation and shortcuts. Why isn't there a keyboard shortcut to switch between forge and market? You need to buy materials all the time! Or automation on selling items from factory. Or even set market threshold and autobuy materials when price falls below. Sadly, it is a no from me.
