A desperate attempt to endure the coming Apocalypse in a cursed, unjust dark fantasy world, made only to appease a vain god. Combat is brutal, choices are lethal, and survival is a temporary insult to fate. A flail to the face.

About
Every choice must be weighed; react in time or face a violent end. And when weapons are not enough, turn to dozens of items to curse, confuse, and drive your enemies into despair.
Gather a party of wretched antiheroes and try to stall the Apocalypse before they betray you and strip you of what little you have. You can’t win. You can only survive.
Built from a large pool of handcrafted situations and quests, constantly rearranged by a semi-procedural system. Enemies, drops, and stats are randomized. Expect no patterns. Expect no mercy.
Mesmerizing art-punk graphic style
A wretched world doomed by an unavoidable apocalypse
A brutal, haunting doom metal soundtrack
Multiple classes, each radically different in strategy, strengths, and approach
ARPG elements. Light on mechanics, heavy on everything else

This game is really disappointing and I actively regret backing it on Kickstarter. A text-based adventure game would have been more engaging. The controls are really janky and cumbersome to begin with. I've regularly had mappings change mid session which makes that way worse. Screen occasionally freezes. Controls are often unresponsive. There are spelling mistakes and grammar issues in the text. Occasionally pop-up nudges/hints will say something like "press {GPSELECT} to..." or "attack with {BTNX} button}... real helpful, thanks. Navigating _anything_ is a nightmare -- even without considering how unresponsive the game frequently is. Having to go through a cut scene to get back to the main menu is unforgiveable. So, no, i don't think i've even be able to experience what the game has to offer but the side-scrolling design (with excruciating transitions from room-to-room) doesn't quite hit the mark for me. I am not quite sure how this game was signed off as it is nowhere near ready to be out for early access. Quite frankly, I think those whole thing needs scrapped and started again. Sigils of Nightfall seems much better at what I'd be looking for from a MÖRK BORG game.
The Game Lets you Cheat, do it
One the shorts on the developers' account says you can access the .json files to change dialog, weapon/spell damage values, etc. Feel like an enemy is doing too much damage? Nerf it. Feel like your weapon is not doing enough damage? Buff it. You still need a competent amount of skill and strategy to make progress and delay the Doomsday Clock. Just remember that making a weapon do 99 damage means any enemy that wields it ALSO do that much damage to you.
As with many people who have played MÖRK BORG Heresy Supreme, I backed the project on Kickstarter because I am a big fan of the MÖRK BORG TTRPG. As a fan of the TTRPG, I have to say that this game nails the feeling and vibe of the TTRPG, right down the stressful ability checks when interacting with objects and traps in the game world. I know a number of people on here have pointed out that game can be janky or have stability issues, but I feel lucky that I haven't encountered any real issues playing mostly on the Steam Deck. Does it have a few rough edges? Sure, but it is in very early access, so I feel that those are understandable. Having played the alpha demo earlier in the year, it's already come a long way since then and I can see a lot of potential. As far as gameplay goes, the combat is intentionally slower-paced to fit with the grungy and unheroic vibe of MÖRK BORG, and it delivers well on that, feeling visceral and oppressive. The game is already really fun if you enjoy the aesthetic, music, and side-scrolling rogue-lite dungeon crawling. Personally I recommend it, and I'm excited to see how much further things go.

An amazingly faithful adaptation to a TTRPG I've been playing for years. It seems like every step forward has given the game more depth and replayabliity without compromising on the unforgiving nature of Mörk Borg. The game could have easily been brutal for brutals sake and im glad its not. I of course have run into a couple bugs here and there too. A few simple achievements I should have gotten never showed up, and the game will crash just about every other time I minimize the screen for something. I understand how these are bigger issues for folks but they dont take me out of it really. The devs are really responsive to feedback and the game is only getting better for it. The difference in performance between this and the Beta alone is huge already. I'll start worrying about deeper performance issues if they persist past the full release. As for now, I'm just enjoying my time in the Dying World.
This game is very fun, tough and amazing to look at, but... I've had countless crashes with many completely preventing me from playing on my save games. once this is fixed then this will be a positive review.
This game makes me want to kill myself
THIS GAME SHOULD NOT EXIST! BUT IT DOES! As a fan of Mork Borg, my eyes couldn't believe this when I first saw it: A side scrolling dungeon crawling action oriented hack and slash rpg, yet completely accurate to the rules, setting, art style, and vibe of the Mork Borg pen and paper roleplaying game. When I played it (enjoy the learning curve, it flows with more player experience), I personally had a great and flawless experience. The settings and creatures are right from the pages, and the only downside was I wanted ALL of the classes immediately, although Fanged Deserter may be most suited for pure combat. The fact that the randomization of Mork Borg extends to characters of the same class, both in looks and special abilities, not to mention quirks, ands a huge amount of variation already. Be sure to learn all of your buttons, movements, and omen/item usage or you won't last long. Don't get crowded, and use dodge and dash for defensive capabilities (Fanged Deserter shield is must use). This is a must buy for any fan of Mork Borg, even if you are terrible at it. It nails it all, right down to the Doomsday Clock.
lovin it
