Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.14/day in the week to Sep 3 → 1/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About

Choose your side in the American Civil War: Real-time campaign, spanning from Secession to the end of the war, with historical objectives for both sides.
Five campaign scenarios (Pre-War, 1861, 1862, 1863, 1864) and twenty (20) stand-alone battles from 1st Manassas in 1861 to Appomattox Court House in 1865.
Change history: What if European superpowers intervened to end the war, or Lincoln lost the presidential election of 1864?
Scott’s Great Snake: Lay siege, raid and blockade your enemy on land and sea or use blockade runners to keep the life-lines to Europe open.
From Fort Sumter to Appomattox: Watch closely the morale of your citizens and troops. As the war drags on, fervor turns to fatigue, the treasury threatens to run dry, and measures like drafting will cause unrest.
Keep the armies marching: Build and manage the flow of supplies to your armies. Utilize and expand railroad lines to supply and move armies for the first time in history!
Pivotal battles: Fight battles lasting multiple days on historical battlefields. Use engineers to build pontoons and dig trenches, see reinforcements change the tide and commit your reserves to defeat the enemy.
Grant vs. Lee: Manage hundreds of historical commanders with personal attributes and specialization. Famous commanders inspire soldiers and citizens alike and loss of reputation can be irreparable.
Command Great Armies: Huge armies of infantry, cavalry and artillery, with realistic command structures and historical Order of Battle.
Bring the Civil War to life: Amazing Civil War re-enactment and combat footage from LionHeart FilmWorks, and an original soundtrack of old time music and drum and fife band.Updates

im sorry i really really wanna like this game but i have a hard time liking it, because a few bugs and wonkey mechanics etc,etc sometimes the movement on the battlemap is really really bad and sometimes its good, but sometimes the combat is just really bad like arty seems to do little to almost nothing and it feels like im having to trying to teach a 4 year old when im telling a brigade to attack something cause sometimes you will tell a brigade to move foward to attack and the general will turn them around with the backs to the enemy for a second and you will get volleyed and broken morale really fast? like why?
I LOVE WATCHING BRIGADES OF MEN SHOOT AT EACH OTHER WITH RIFLE MUSKETS AND SEEING HUGE CASUALTIES I AM NOT A SOCIOPATH ALSO ONLY GET THE GAME WHEN ON SALE FOR AT LEAST 50% OFF THE DEVS HAVE PRETTY MUCH MOVED ON FROM THIS GAME SO EXPECT PLENTY OF BUGS AND TAKE THE GAME WITH A HEAVY GRAIN OF SALT ALSO THE READINESS SYSTEM SUCKS I DONT USE IT BECAUSE IM NOT A NERD IN THIS VERY NICHE GAME FOR HISTORY NERDS

This game is awesome. It touches all the bases of strategy and tactics. I also highly recommend the A.O.M mod.
The game is seriously bugging out, I lost all of my saves randomly and now I can't start any new campaigns or battles. I've already validated the game files and re-downloaded it.
Great potential, amazing elements, lots of glitches. Example: After spending ~12 hours setting up a game - setting policies, playing with sliders, building out my armies and assigning commanders, etc. - I finally had my first big battle when McClellan's 16,000 strong army attacked Nashville and encountered my 15,000 strong Army of Tennessee under A.S. Johnston. It was exciting to be getting to the good stuff! I had 4 divisions under my command. 3 divisions of 3 infantry brigades with an artillery battalion, and a 4th division of cavalry under Van Dorn. I placed 2 divisions at a choke point at a river crossing with a 3rd division under Bragg in reserve and Van Dorn on the flank for spotting, and I waited for McClellan - and he came right for me. McClellan's brigades were larger and he had more artillery, but I had a strong position. Bragg sent out skirmishers to some woods on the Union right flank and harassed their artillery as Van Dorn did the same from the left. The enfilade was too much and the Union troops began to waver and break. I charged my infantry brigades to seal the victory and this was the moment!!!......that things got weird. My units had a hard time pursuing the broken troops. As McClellan's men ran away, they fired at my men and routed several brigades. Then my men became discouraged and quit following orders. Suddenly my artillery warped to a corner of the battlefield. Then the edges of the battlefield turned blue. Then the timer went away and even though the day/night graphic cycle continued, the date/time never progressed. My victory slider was pegged. I had a Major Victory. But the battle never stopped. A few Union brigades were still running around, and my men were too skittish to engage. I let the computer run for a couple hours, just to see if it resolved. It did not. So I had to reload the game, and of course the big Battle of Nashville wasn't saved or recorded. That's about 18 hours of gameplay I'll never get back, but it was sort of fun while it lasted. *Update: I continued to play the game after this review and since that time haven't experienced any glitches or bugs like the one I described above. Perhaps it was a one-off? *Update update: I've played this game and 'won' the Civil War numerous times, and never had another issue. I really enjoy it :)
I've basically only played the Whiskey and Lemons campaign but I absolutely love this game. The only real complaint I have is that the battle AI is wonky and requires some tweaking with the settings to behave in a realistic way. Some people have issue with how the strategic AI seems to wander aimlessly but that's fairly realistic as seeking decisive battle is a 20th century idea.
needs a lot of work, to UI in battles make it practically difficult to command individual units. grouping armies is unnecessarily complex and the tutorial is a swamp of information. It has potential it really needs to be ironed out though. Ultimate General is much better for tactical battles
Was soll ich sagen?
If you are looking for an open world type civil war game, this game may be for you. You can manage everything from building your army and navy to making governmental policy and economic decisions. If you do not want to have that much control then you can just set the auto manage feature to handle the things you are not interested in dealing with.
Frankly, this is the best American Civil War RTS that I have ever played. It has its quirks and drawbacks, but I have been fully satisfied and have played over 220 hours. Definitely worth the price and definitely worth adding to your library if you enjoy military RTS games. The developers set out to achieve a very ambitious goal of creating an immersive and historically accurate gaming experience and they accomplished this goal admirably all things considered. I hope the developers continue to update and improve this game in the future after their upcoming Napoleonic Wars game releases.
