As a combat fighting game enjoyer such as Tekken, Under Night In-Birth and Persona 4 Arena Ultimax this game is a sold for me :> The visuals are nothing short of stunning, with character designs and animations that capture the essence of the anime aesthetic. The attention to detail in the art design extends to the stages, creating a dynamic and immersive backdrop for intense battles. The combat mechanics are equally noteworthy, with every character's set of moves showing meticulous craftsmanship, featuring subtle animations and precise controls. The game successfully finds a fine equilibrium, making it accessible for newcomers while offering depth for seasoned players. This design becomes more apparent as you explore the intricate details of the combat system. would recommend this game if its on sale :) and also could not wait for the upcoming release of GBVS: Rising

this games cool, wish they released a version with rollback, would be pretty neat i think to be clear screw rising dont buy that game
GranBelial in Fantasy Versus Everyone
So yeah, I figured that after Rising its finally time to actually play the game lol. The review would be mostly about RPG Mode since I already played online and arcade enough to tell you this: Its mid - it really is. The arcade's AI is boring. The gameplay is slow, the AI just cant play the game because its THAT slow And the online - is actually still having a few people in there lol, playing just now - although with pretty rough ping. But I recall - this game felt weird - it was simply too easy for an anime fighter, heck, even Strive was more complicated to play - yet people found a way how to actually do pretty cool combos. Crazy. Still - the game died pretty quickly in the online part...blame covid. Or society Idk. ________________________ The plot of this game - some would say its non-canon. But I'd say - its pretty interesting way to implement a new story to an already existing universe. Basically, new villain is introduced and he managed to screw up with reality so bad - it basically reimagined the whole events of GranBlue fantasy. Add Multiverse Merging to this, some sick Actual Boss Battles - and you've got yourself a pretty good Story Mode. Not gonna lie - the beginning was boring - you just fight various mobs on 2D screen and thats it - occasionally playing a parody of "normal" mode aganist other characters But then the game brings up Big Bosses, Epic music and a Tower of Babel mode - which is 100 floors of really fun battles I legit had FUN with this game - its simply amazing. That reminds me...I need to play JRPG genre again sometimes - those games are FUN. Between each mission you gear up your weapons, you character is levelled up automatically, you level up your weapons, place them in slots - standart JRPG stuff - you get the idea In battles you can play solo/with AI partner/with a buddy using 2-nd controller/actual online coop And thats pretty much it - pretty straightforward - with some extra ideas. Although I can totally understand why they cut most of this stuff from Rising. Because its just feels weird to have an RPG Mode in your damn fighting game. Finally, Final Fantasy's composer did a great job with the music on this one Visuals are still looking great The design of most of the characters is great although...too modern for some....I guess....*Looks at Ladiva, Caggy and actually Belial* Still - since Rising is out - I dont think this game can offer anything else except its RPG Mode - even with that - I doubt most players would be interested in that.
TL;DR:
The game baits with its visuals - really cool anime style Again - pure aesthetic pleasure in visuals and music With great characters to pick from (if you have DLCs) Great RPG mode but boring AI in Arcade The gameplay is too basic and Im already zzzzzz....... Online is mostly dead Probably a bad idea to buy it since there's Rising But Rising is expensive as hell https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLMgM4YF6wc
SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAM YOUR NAME OUT TO THE EDGE OF THE SKYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
Very good story, good designs, to much fun.
Cool design.
I read reviews saying this was a technial foghting game. This is at best a button mashing atrocities that whomever said it is a technical fighting games, was, is, and probably will forever be, an idiot. I guess it's fun if you want to mash the buttons in a way that sorta resembles the key combos until your character actually does the action. I prefer pushing the buttons really fast and accurately and getting a response from the game. I do not recommend because I do not like button mashers.
A COMPLETE DISAPPOINTMENT GRANBLUE FANTASY VERSUS RISING
: I didn't think that Cygames adopted the consumerism system where after 3 years he throws away the object even though it still works. UPDATES were enough and they refused, using the excuse that the costs would be too high. But they didn't think about all those who spent hours to unlock content, purchased (the very expensive) DLC to unlock characters (where a game classified as ESPORT should at least allow acquisition via internal currency or hours of gameplay itself). Furthermore, I also add salt to the tail, now aiming for the system items that can be purchased for 20 euros!!! The usual unlockable codes only in Japan (and I've come to terms with it now), the problems inherent to the servers (of which there are reports of the inaccessible minigame) and the removal of valid content to be played in the company of friends, have made this game a legal scam by Cyagames. And now they want to do it with SHADOWVERSE too, I hate to think of all those who have spent hours and hours building their decks, completing the campaign and accumulating the content released through collaborations!
