Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 3.29/day in the week to Aug 8 → 4.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Perhaps one of the most quintessential action RPGs ever made. I just got into this series finally last year, after news of the Gothic 1 Remake being deep in development and it's release window closing-in. Safe to say I started with the original Gothic 1, the very game that would later receive a remake. To this day, I still consider it one of my all-time favorite games. I had known about the Gothic series since I was a kid, but never got around to playing the originals. The only Gothic game I had played back then was Gothic 3 because it was more accessible, and I had a pretty ADHD brain so my patience for the gameplay loop of Gothic 1 and 2 were non-existent. Now back to Gothic 2. Its biggest strength is its simplicity. There are no bloated skill trees, endless crafting systems, or a checklist of activities designed to keep you busy for hundreds of hours. Every level matters, every learning point feels important, and every improvement to your character feels earned. The game is tough, but it's fair. In the beginning you're weak, broke, and just about everything wants to kill you. If you wander somewhere you're not supposed to be, the game won't stop you. It'll simply remind you that you're not ready yet. Then, hours later, you'll come back and cut through those same enemies with ease. Your character's growth isn't just shown by bigger numbers. You actually feel yourself becoming stronger. The world is still one of my favorites in any RPG, second only to the Penal Colony from Gothic 1. In fact, I'd even call Gothic 1 one of the grandfathers of the modern 3D action RPG. Khorinis isn't huge by today's standards, but almost every path leads to something worth discovering. NPCs have daily routines, factions have their own interests, and the world doesn't feel like it's waiting around for the player. It feels like you're just another person trying to find your place in it. The graphics are obviously dated, but the art style has aged incredibly well. I'd honestly take Gothic 2's grounded medieval look over many modern fantasy games. The armor designs are fantastic. Every faction has its own identity, and you can usually tell exactly who someone is just by looking at what they're wearing. The weapons also look believable instead of being oversized fantasy props covered in glowing effects. One of my favorite things about Gothic 2 is that armor isn't just another item you find lying around. You have to earn it. You need to join a faction, prove yourself, climb through its ranks, and gain the respect of the people around you. Sure, you can spawn every armor set with cheats if you want, but during normal gameplay those upgrades actually mean something because they represent everything you've accomplished. That's something I really miss in a lot of modern RPGs. Gothic 2 isn't a Skyrim-style sandbox where you can become the leader of every guild and collect every cool outfit without much thought. Your social standing matters. People recognize who you are, your faction matters, and the equipment you wear reflects your place in the world. That philosophy carries through the entire game. Respect, strength, money, and influence are all things you have to earn. Nothing is handed to you, and that's exactly what makes finally achieving those goals so satisfying. Even after all these years, Gothic 2 remains one of the best examples of meaningful progression, immersive world building, and rewarding exploration. It's a game that trusts the player, respects their intelligence, and rewards patience far more than convenience. A true classic. Pros: - Excellent social progression. You earn better armor, stronger equipment, and people's respect instead of having everything handed to you. - Incredibly satisfying gameplay loop. The combat is simple but addictive, and every victory feels earned. -Fantastic art style that has aged far better than the graphics themselves. - One of the best handcrafted worlds in gaming. Dense, believable, and rewarding to explore. - Character progression feels meaningful. Going from struggling against wolves to cutting through entire groups never gets old. - A progression system that still feels unique compared to most modern RPGs. - Factions actually matter, and your choices have weight. Cons: - Requires community patches and a few quality of life mods to feel comfortable on modern systems and especially for modern/younger gamers. - The graphics and controls are dated and can be difficult to get into if you're used to newer games. - The story is good, but it's the world and its characters that truly carry the experience. Playing Gothic 1 (or the Gothic 1 Remake) first, makes it much more rewarding. - The progression system is intentionally slow and demanding, which won't appeal to everyone. - Quests can be quite confusing due to the lack of markers, you have to pay attention to every little dialogue and detail.

I have played this game multiple times since I was 11, i'm 30 now. I have always had a blast whenever I decide to come back to it. It's a classic.
Great game. Negative review for bad support. Gothic II still didn't get the console patch, including controller support, QoL features, and achievements.

In diesem Sinne: Gothic 2-Remake? WIR! SEHEN! UNS! <3
