Gather your party of expendable heroes. Climb a vast tower atop a shiny shield. Who will fight? Who will heal? Who will laze around and take all the treasure? The choices will be yours alone, but only those who work together will be powerful enough to face Medusa at the top of the GORGON SHIELD.

The game has crashed multiple times in my short play time, to the point where I can't even finish a run. And the developers don't even try to fix the source of the crashes. They built a message into the game so when you log in after crashing, it says, "whoops, looks like your last run crashed, but we saved your gold for you; you're welcome." Skip this game.
overall its a fun game but it has crashes so i have to give it a thumbs down until crashes are fixed, or at least a soft save point so you don't lose an entire damn run
Unfortunately this game looks good on the surface but is not really that fun. It doesn't feel like you can improve your skill and get further. The only way to get further is meta progression which rubs me the wrong way. The level ups in game feel inconsequential. There is no real synergies involved and most upgrades are minor. The active abilities of the characters also feel weird as it seems optimal to just keep mashing the 1-4 buttons and the space bar. The rotating shield is a cool idea but not really used well enough in my opinion. Sadly I will not recommend this game.
Buggy mess. It mostly plays well, but I had a simple crash where I leveled up while my heroes were dead. The game couldn't select a hero, so my progress was stuck. Their solution to bugs is to give the gold I would have earned while ending my current run. YIKES Only worth buying for $2-3 on sale. The rest of the production values are good enough to play for a couple hours. edit: The progression is even worse than I imagined. DON'T BUY AT ALL. The champions aren't useful nor unique enough to matter. Oh, boy, the Rogue gains double gold. The gold is mostly useful for upgrading your base, not during the actual run. The priest heals twice as fast, but the Priest doesn't heal others until you gain powers for it, so you get a lame fighter that can potentially get back into the fight a little soon. Still not worth using over simply upgrading the default Barbarian until you unlock the real game.
Not recommended - beneath the appealing visuals the content is extremely underwhelming. The replay value is zero because it is not enough to entertain even the first time through. Also it resorts to cheap tricks to forcibly extend the game length. The gameplay format is simple: 60 or so levels. A glitchy dungeon crawler segment every 5th level. A boss battle every 10th level. Random event doors every 3 levels or so. The levels are 30 second waves where you essentially grind gold and try to stay alive as the game ramps up the enemy damage every 10 levels. You know, just like every cheap indie game that tries to force an end of the game with a damage wall to artificially extend the play time. All you do is spin the figurative wheel to select which one of your dudes is attacking the enemy waves. There are no significant class specialties because everyone is a melee on a melee platform and a ranged one on the ranged one. Your controls are: spin the positions clockwise, counter-clockwise, activating character-specific special moves and activating the shield special spinning lazor beam move. That is all. Essentially the game is about 20 minutes long, though the copious amounts of damage walls and cheap deaths will probably extend it to dozens of hours in the absence of the Cheat-Engine power equalizer. Dying in this game is a major setback because you will always start from level 1 and that is super boring. Yes, it seems like one of those games where player-killing is most of the content. At least Souls-likes give you the chance to out-skill the challenge. Here it is forced, mind-numbing programmed subjugation. Most of the time you are not pressing anything and instead are waiting for the wave of enemies to end. After it does, you get to go to another level to do the same thing all over again. Repeat that for a little less than 60 times and you have this game. It gets old during the five-minute tutorial run. None of the details amount to making the game more varied or exciting. It is the same game with one character as it is with four. There are also weird glitches. My dudes went from 100 % to 10 % against a rat right before the second boss battle for no reason the damage was not that high at that point. That is cheap. That is when I decided to make it slightly more fun by maxing out the HP with Cheat-Engine. When I got to the last boss, it hit the platform a couple of times and it was destroyed, ending the run. I maxed out all of my upgrades, reduced the enemy damage to the minimum (with the town upgrade that lets you do that) and it was much more manageable. The damage "immune" Talos boss still did borderline instakill damage to my level 20 Barbarian (around level 30 AFAIK), so the damage was still immense. After beating the boss, there is a short cutscene and the developer thanking you for completing the playthrough. Technically the game feels bloated in that it takes over 2.0 gigabytes of RAM straight from the get-go even though it looks extremely 2D. Of course the developer uses Godot Engine that has tons of weird issues if not crashing with its render options. Godot games might run until a certain point before crashing. I had issues besides it being laggy before minimizing the details. I suggest trying to somehow make sure the game runs on your end before buying it. Apparently there used to be a 30-level demo of the game (according to the in-game patch notes) and it shows up in SteamDB listings, though if you try to Launch it, it says "no licenses", meaning it is disabled. Then again, its build is several years old and represents the older, probably (knowing Godot's development direction) more stable version of the game. Please do not make games with Godot. It makes the bloat-happy Unity 3D look amazing for not having tons of crash issues. Godot is even less configurable user-side than Unity, meaning if the developer uses some cutting-edge render settings, the game simply ain't going to run on a big chunk of people that have less-than-recent hardware. - A song recommendation when playing this game: "Spin to Win" by DruoxTheShredder I got this game as a free Fanatical order bonus game. I'd say I was lucky to only pay zero, though the time spent on it pushes its value below the waterline.
The choice to first need to free up other party members really hurts this game. And I mean, I understand roles have to be played free... but this game is all about balancing your party around the shield... and you start your first run with just 1 member on the shield... I have to admit, I didn't get far into the game, before getting bored of it... and that's a problem Very repetitive game play, weird choices made about how the game should start off, the upgrades for your characters feels bland and it always hurts when you chose an item you apparently already had equipped, meaning you have to drop the item, instead of choosing another upgrade option instead (It wasn't always clear to me, what kind of item it was even) The spritework is fine, the 3D espect less so. The combination doesn't mix very well in this case
Short description: You have a party of up to 4 heroes, each on their section of an elevator shield that can be rotated to assign hero to a different quarter. Each quarter can be: defending the elevator shield from incoming monsters, healing, finding gold, ... Each floor lasts for a given time (like a TD wave). You typically have to rotate to heal a given hero, or loot if your best melee hero is also the best at looting, and no opponent is there at the moment... But more often than not, choosing the right hero for the right task will force you to make very suboptimal compromises with the other (like putting the mage in melee so that your frontline fighter can heal). After your party demise, you can use the gold found to purchase permanent improvements. It is a "small light game", but I found it hard to put down, and I liked the twist on the TD/autobattle formula.
When I got the game I wasn't really expecting to get too into it, but I was wrong: It is quite addicting. I have played quite a few other roguelites, but none with this specific set of features. The game is sort of a tower defense, revolving around the concept of having up to 4 units standing in each side of a platform which you'll spin based on the current state of things: Maybe you need to heal a unit, maybe one is good with ranged damaged and you want to position it accordingly or maybe one that does high damage through AoE skills doesn't really have the defense to tank enemy hits and you want them safe, etc. The game has a few issues: - Some crashes here and there which make you lose the progress on your run (but at least save your gold and runes); - Some UI elements seem to give incorrect information: * The option to "increase agility" states it would take 0.5 seconds off your ranged attack cool down, but it actually takes only 0.1; * When choosing a path between towers you're shown which doorways you'll encounter in the way, but that information apparently does not reflect the ones that actually show up. None of the issues I found were bad enough that they would ruin the experience though. Overall, I think Gorgon Shield is a pretty fun indie title and it deserves your attention.
想法有点意思,可惜做得太粗糙了,玩着也不爽,玩着感觉重复度非常高,而且boss战之前的迷宫就是败笔,毫无意义。每一局中间不能保存,机制也不友好。
