I bought this game while it was on sale. I purchased it because I wanted to play a fun game of Mini Golf in VR while my friends could play while on PC. This review is coming hot off of just playing what I feel has got to have been the worst VR mini golf experience I have ever had the displeasure of playing. None of the courses feel like they were designed with VR in mind. It feels slapdash. Navigating the courses is a total pain in the ass. Sometimes the swings that I make feel like the same swing in real life, but maybe because of a lag spike or otherwise, the game might interpret it as something entirely different. Navigating the map is frustrating. The only option is a crappy teleport which doesn't even put me exactly where I actually am as though it's calculating where it *thinks* I should be in relation to my room setup. Sometimes it will even teleport me (throwing me off) when the ball is barely to my side, then other times it will be at the complete opposite end of the room and it won't move me an inch. When in the game's main menu, I couldn't even properly type a password in to join a friend because the in game keyboard overlay is layered behind the even bigger menu which is PHYSICALLY behind the keyboard! If I get rid of the keyboard to see where I'm typing, I also can't bring it back. Also, the game freaks out when on my main monitor. It just flashes a static screen and some random viewpoint in a map at a rapid rate that could give someone a seizure if they looked at it. And speaking of poor performance, the main grasslands area was atrocious in its optimization. I played the haunted map and ice map and got a smooth framerarte. The grasslands map probably would have made me vomit irl because of its poor performance if I hadn't already had a good stomach for this kind of experience already. It was barely hitting 15 frames per second. I don't know why. The experience for this game could be fantastic if you are playing on PC only, so maybe I could have reviewed this from a PC playing perspective. However I got this for its VR features, in which case they have just been miserable. The PC players had a pretty major advantage over me because they could easily dictate their angle and strength. Something I lack in VR because it's really hard to properly judge those when the game lags out and randomly decides your lag spike was suddenly max force. I definitely cannot recommend this.
