after giving it more time i really wanted to try and love this but i cant the licenced products are good however its got a lot of flaws i am playing on the valve index 1. its not a sim its just not its an arcadey golf game while some mechanics are more realistic than other golf games others are not for example you cannot really pick a speed to swing your club it either goes 5 meters in front of you or it goes 100-200 meters away there is no in between there is also some arbitrary dampener on the golf ball it will only go to a certain speed then slow the ball down (if you don't belive me hit the ♥♥♥♥ out of a ball with a putter and you will see it come to a dead stop mid air and drop) 2. the ball does not behave realistically it bounces too much and rolls too far on the fairway and not enough on the green 3. the golf courses some times feel like large "mini golf" courses there will be times where you will get stuck somewhere and cant get the ball over a hill or out of dead ground i have had times where the ball landed half way down the course and then rolled back down past the starting position 4. the game is too competitive overall golf is meant to be a relaxing sport yes you have higher end levels like PGA but its not a competitive game by nature you play against yourself the game is too heavy with showing you how worse you are compared to others and how much worse you are playing on a bad day your handicap and other scores are too shoved in your face at all times which can make you panic and play worse to try and do better 5. bugs there are too many bugs or times where the game just arbitrarily sent your ball flying in the wrong direction i have had 3 times now where the ball didn't move no matter how i hit it or with what (there is also no stroke limit per hole) it would not move the only way to fix it is to quit the round which adds 0.1 to your handicap effectively punishing you for the game bugging out 6. you cannot just play the game without any pressure you can play "practice rounds" but you cannot do the whole course to get a feel for it you can only pick a hole and hit from the starting position you cant continue on the course 7. there is not much content and the options are limited you can only pick the angle of the club relative to your controller things like club length only put the club further away from you cannot you cannot choose things like head forgiveness or shaft stiffness 8. something really bad and i cant forgive from the devs is that your skill kind of doesn't matter its all about the clubs the starting clubs act like really cheap clubs like a kmart $200 set you wont shoot straight or far but you will see that as you unlock other clubs (tied to your handicap) your game will get better this creates a dynamic where people who are just starting out with the game are artificially given a disadvantage in a highly competitive game would i recommend this game? over all no not really ONLY if you wanted a golf game to play with friends otherwise no golf club VR is a much more realistic experience with literally 1000s of courses due to community content

Great Fun. I have only played this for a few hours but already I like it. Three nice courses, decent physics, solid performance on my GTX1080, runs nice and smooth. With a cheap golf club attachment attached to my rift s controller it feels like playing a nice, slightly simplified round of golf. I know it's a pretty new game but it already has plenty in it to more than justify 25 quid. Having said that there are two enhancements I would love to see: The first is a bit of backspin when landing on greens with the wedges. I may have misread what the game is doing but it seems like the ball never spins back even with a flop type shot. Secondly it would be great to be able to play against my own previous best rounds, like I can in the Golf CLub/VR. It doesn't need to have an avatar or any animated golfers, just the paths of the ball on each shot. But all in all a very nice way of playing golf in your living room. It even has some mini-games where you can just practise pitch and putt, or just your drives etc. WELL DONE GUYS!!! There are very few VR golf games and this one is a very nice affort. Hope it keeps developing.

I have about 18 hours in this game. I want to love it so much, but there are just a few holes that, if they fixed the physics a little would make a HUGE difference. Those few holes absolutely RUIN THIS GAME. Come on...get your heads out of your you-know-whats! This is the ONLY golf game on the market for those of us that use something other than Oculus. Three courses that are all far from perfect. You're so close. Put your heads down and get to work! Fix this and you have a big winner here. UPDATE: The developers have made some really great progress since my initial review. New courses are available and most of the holes that I complained about being very wonky with physics have been fixed. Not perfect...but pretty darn good. I appreciate the hard work. The game is very fun, and if they keep it up, we've got a serious winner coming. I'm playing on the HP Reverb 2, by the way, which isn't officially supported, apparently. Like real golf, you'll feel the frustration of bad shots and the elation of that one great one that will keep you coming back.

Recommended but just barely. The greens on many of the holes are insanely unrealistic and unforgiving. There's one hole in particular on the tropical round (I think 7 or 8) that I can only imagine the devs are just trolling everyone. it is just stupid.

Tough for me to recommend because I can't seem to get it to work with my headset (Varjo Aero) and controllers (Index). I saw only after I purchased it that it works with only a few headsets but it does seem to work with the Valve Index so I don't know why it's not working. Posted something on the discussions to see if any dev or player can help me make sense of it but until then I can't really recommend it.

I'm trying really hard to like this game but it's no comparison to Golf+ that's been out for quite a while now. This game is more arcade style play. I try the realistic HPC mode for the clubs and I can get 1 in 10 shots to go the distance the other 9 out of the 10 go about 50 yards in front of me. That to me makes the game unplayable. I've spent about 2 hours on the driving range and for the life of me I can't be consistent with my shots. In real life, at least I can consistently drive the ball over 250 yards. Which is more than I can say for this game. With the HPC on I can drive the ball about 200 yards max and that's about 50/50. I'm glad I got this game on sale and sad I have spent over the 2 hour refund limit or I'd refund it.

Juegazo, el mejor simulador de golf en VR. Si te gusta el golf (aunque no hayas cogido un palo en tu vida como es mi caso) te encantará. Varios modos de juego, zona de prácticas en green y en el campo para probar los distintos palos, torneos online, etc. Totalmente recomendable.

I have a Quest 3 but I got this game to play golf with a friend who has PSVR and we are both pretty disappointed. The golf aspects of the game are not terrible if you are able to get into a game and actually play but getting to the course and staying there is a mini game in and of itself. For starters, the menu system is generally pretty bad. Creating a lobby to invite friends and getting into game are complicated and doesn't work well. The game runs through Steam so I should be able to invite steam friends quickly and easily but this game requires you to become friends inside the game and creating a lobby and those friends is not intuitive. If you don't create your lobby right you also get randoms joining which makes playing with friends even harder because at that point you have to back out and start over. Aligning clubs takes awhile and requires multiple sessions of tweaks as you are playing - something the other golf sim game does with a single button. My clubs are also too short and just making them longer doesn't seem to be a setting I have found. I can move the club further away to make the club head touch the ground but then the handle doesn't match up with my hands. The game requires you to download a phone app to do any avatar customization which is something I just refuse to do. The free courses that come with the game are pretty mid and playing any other courses requires buying "memberships" at the clubs with in game currency. It has a very "freemium" feel which is crazy for a game that costs $20. All of that might be something I would overlook but so far we haven't been able to finish a full round of golf. For one of us, every time we play, Steam crashes while in game. Rejoining a lobby after you have crashes seems impossible - or at least we haven't been able to manage it. My controller loses tracking regularly and I have to wait for the game to relocate it. Entering into pass through mode is the most dangerous thing of all. Sometimes that causes Steam to crash or sometimes I am unable to ever get my controllers to come back and that requires a restart of Steam VR and the game. I have played 100s of hours using SteamVR and spent a decent amount of time in Golf+ on my Quest and the problems I have experienced in this game appear to be solely residing within this game, not a problem with my hardware or Steam. My friend has a lot of problems with controller tracking on the PSVR and rarely is able to get a full swing that connects as expected (not just bad golf shots but the ball firing off randomly in different directions - including straight backwards). I will admit, though, that we don't know if that is a problem with the PSVR system, her setup, or the game itself. Unfortunately, if you have anything other than a Quest this is really your only option for a golf sim but even with that, I still can't recommend this game. Maybe on heavy discount and if you don't plan to play with friends (as that seems to exacerbate all of the issues with the game) then maybe it would be worth it but outside of that it's better to just stick with Walkabout.
