Black Hole Pool, sozusagen der Nachfolger von The Rack. Ein Poolbillardspiel. Pixel Works hat einfach beide Titel in ein Poolspiel geschmissen. Jetzt haben wir also nur noch einen Titel und die Verwirrung ist nicht minder groß. Hatte Pixel Works erst zwei Pooltitel im Programm, die dazu noch ein komisches Pay to Win System verfolgeten, das sie Aufgrund des Unmutes der Userbase mit diversen Updates fallen gelassen haben. Das war auch besser so, denke ich. Jetzt haben wir ein solides Poolbillardspiel, das zwar keine wirkliche Simulation darstellt, aber dennoch genug Tiefe hat, um mehr als nur ein Arcadepool zu sein und weiß sicherlich auch erfahrende Spieler zu begeistern. Das wichtigste ist, dass Black Hole Pool mit einem guten Gameplay aufwarten kann. Die Steuerung, wie das Queue zu halten ist, um einen erfolgreichen Stoß auszuführen, ist schnell in einem Tutorial gelernt. Das Spiel bietet ein paar zuschaltbare Zielhilfen, die es im echten Leben so nicht gibt. Somit stehen ein paar Runden am Tisch nichts mehr im Wege. Allerdings sollte man der Fairniss halber sagen, dass die Zielhilfe im Multiplayer nicht so gern gesehen ist. Die Physik der Bälle und das Zusammenspiel mit Tisch und Queue sind wirklich sehr realistisch und schon eher Simulation, alle Möglichen Stoßvarianten sind Möglich. Ich bin kein guter Spieler und habe die einfache KI in drei Runden besiegen können. Schwerer künstliche Kandidaten habe ich nicht ausprobiert. Die KI ist fair und ich hatte den Eindruck, jedenfalls im einfachen Modus auch ein wenig schusselig. Falls es keine echten Gegner gibt, ist die KI immer für ein Stößchen bereit. Bemerkenswert ist aber, dass man sich darüber scheinbar keine Gedanken machen muss. Trotz des Alters und der Querelen zu Beginn der Programmgeschichte, gibt es tatsächlich Leute im Multiplayermodus. Somit habe ich schnell einen Spieler gefunden, mit dem ich zwei Runden Pool gespielt habe, was deutlich mehr Spaß machte, als gegen die nicht schlechte KI. Bewegen können wir uns per freier Bewegung, Teleport ist auch möglich, sowie Snapturn. The physics of the balls and the interaction with the table and cue are really very realistic and more of a simulation, all possible shot variations are possible. Black Hole Pool is fun and very real, but be careful when leaning on the pool table, it doesn't work ... You can play against real people but also against the AI. I'm not a good player and managed to beat the easy AI in three rounds. I haven't tried the more difficult artificial candidates. The AI is fair and I had the impression that it was a bit scatterbrained, at least in easy mode. If there are no real opponents, the AI is always ready for a poke. What is remarkable, however, is that you don't seem to have to worry about this. Despite its age and the squabbles at the beginning of the program's history, there are actually people in multiplayer mode. I quickly found a player with whom I played two rounds of pool, which was much more fun than against the not bad AI. Greetings go out to bobmar100! The graphics are okay, the ambience, a billiard club looks a bit blurred in the distance and the textures are not all high-resolution, but the pool table is razor sharp. It's just not built properly, the controls aren't right, you should be able to lock in the back and the front of the cue independently but instead you gotta line both up at the same time and that just doesn't work when you aren't actually leaning on a table. Just a lot of oversights on a few things, if you change your skin to anything with sleves, well say goodbye to your watch cause you can't check your money anymore, its gone.

I was somewhat skeptical about giving this a try because of a few bad steam reviews and overall, pool games (VR or not) tend to be ♥♥♥♥♥♥ at best, most of the time. But I can assure you that as of right now (2023) it has to be the best VR pool game out there. Gameplay is pretty solid. There are a few aim-assist features that are completely optional which is a neat detail. And even if you turn them off, you can still predict where everything's gonna fall into place even before landing a hit (pretty much like real-life pool). You can also play against AI bots which even at medium difficulty can beat your ass if you're an average pool player. I've also noticed in my short playtime that they tend to make human-like mistakes and sometimes they even try to give you a small and fair advatage to keep the game going a little further. So if you're looking for a fun singleplayer experience, this game is it. I haven't tested multiplayer yet (and I don't think I ever will lol) but from what I've seen from people, it's as fun as playing with bots if not better. The only thing that I could complain about this game, is that it lacks a few QOL features on the options menu, like rotation speed and movement speed. Rotation and movement is slow, unless you use snap turn and teleportation which is way faster. Other than that, 10/10 game.

It was working fine but since 4 months is broken, avatars don't work anymore, i can't play and there's no way to fix it, this issue is for any one else not only me, so money wasted.

Классный симулятор, отличная физика, атмосфера хорошая, но не хватает эмбиента. Онлайн небольшой, но люди пока ещё есть. Общение немых здесь ограничивается тремя жестами: ладошка, ок, и указательный-пистолет, в целом, двух последних достаточно, чтобы пояснить оппоненту что вы без особых усилий загнали все шары по самую лузу. Иногда багует, активация ИИ как будто прижимается двойным кликом, если не тройным, от этого каждый фол может сопровождаться бесконечными попытками бота бить бесцельно по столу, в пустоту, даже если шар у вас в руках, либо пинать кием стол, за которым он ожидает вас, то есть вообще не игровую зону. Рискнете поставить биток на стол в это время? Ждите пинбол, шар очумеет бешенством и будет в припадках дергаться, ослушиваясь все законы физики и пространства. хотя если успеть попасть в тайминг и забить шар во время этой "фичи", то можно разбаговать ситуацию.
