About

Godslayer Arena is a roguelike fusion of autobattlers and action-rpgs. The core gameplay loop revolves around drafting spells to synergize with each other, and figuring out where they should be placed.
You have no control once combat begins, and your survival will depend on the strength of the build you have drafted.
At its core, Godslayer Arena is a strategy game focusing on complex and deep spell interactions. Each run will test your understanding of the game's core systems.
Break the game. Min max your build. Become overpowered.

Before you begin each battle, you’ll be offered a selection of different spells that you can purchase through the spell shop. You’ll then be offered the choice of being able to refresh your shop for more spells, or to gain experience. The more experience you gain the higher your shop level will be, which in turn offers you a better chance of finder higher tier spells.
Each spell comes with a set of “traits”, which grant powerful effects if you equip enough unique spells of the same trait. Holding three of a kind will upgrade your spells to stronger versions of themselves.
Spells are cast from left to right and interact with each other in various ways, meaning the position of your spells matters a lot. For example, certain spells may fire damaging projectiles, and other support type spells can increase the amount of projectiles fired by those spells if you choose to place them next to each other. There are lots of different spell interactions which include increasing area of effect, granting bonus spellpower, increasing/lowering mana costs, autocasting/combo casting spells, bonuses to basic attacks and more.

Mastery cards further enhance your build by offering powerful spells unique to the class that you play as. These cards are only offered once per run and must be chosen carefully. Items provide unique build defining effects, and gems provided your spells powerful modifications.

Good game, but there is too much action and everything is too fast. Attacking is too fast, the spells activate too fast, leading to a screen full of flashing effects... The levels are too short. Please allow for a slower more delicate approach. Too much of everything at the moment, cannot recommend. Unless you want to consciously stare into a screen flashing in all colors at the same time.
Played this way back, thought it was neat. Seems their using generative AI for this. I can't support that.
Fun arpg-autobattler, first time i'm playing a game with this type of genre, what a fun game!
super
I love the idea of a roguelike that doesn't require me to keep spamming keys. This isn't perfect - it needs some time to cook, but the amount of builds and combos are great. Worth getting as it is IMO. I hope the dev will keep building this. EDIT: The difficulty needs to be ramped up. At 13 games I lost only 1. Right now builds are too easy to make them work, so complexity is lacking.
ARPG + Auto Battler = Depth & Fun. Really easy game to get into, and if you love theory crafting and build making there is a lot of cool stuff here. I have been pretty surprised how deep this is. Plenty of content to justify the full price right now, and the roadmap looks great!
Great game, got me hooked from the start. Absolutely worth it's money. Autobattler, but instead of drafting a team of creatures you draft skills/spells for one hero. You build this one hero to auto-fight hordes of enemies with an ever expanding combination of skills/spells that you are trying to optimize throughout a run. Really good stuff!
Dev just run away with money. Another one! Steam needs to do something about it as other devs are going to suffer because of few bad apples. Early access for anything? No, thank you.
Good game, but dev went AWOL.
The game has been in early access for awhile, but the updates are still coming, and the devs still respond quickly to bug reports on the forums. I just recently got all available achievements, which you need to complete the highest ascension difficulty with every single mastery skill. For a game like this, that's impressive balance. Some were definitely easier than others, and some I felt I needed a bit of luck, but nothing impossible. There is a lot of roguelike games out there, but this one is solid as is, and still has great communication and response time from the dev. For the price, worth playing your favorite builds to ascension 10. But if you really like to find broken strategies, and push limits, I couldn't recommend it more.
