Glover

The game has some crashing issues, some glitches, and some other random things that haven't been fixed since release. That being said everything is extremely playable. I am using a PS5 controller to play, and have used the wireless n64 controller for the switch, both work with no issue. The game does not save between levels and will crash, deleting your progress, so be prepared or mitigate the issue by returning to the castle and saving between levels. The game is Glover. It's not perfect, nor is this release of the game. It's still worth it. If you want the true experience of your childhood, this will do it. If you're a purist looking for literally exactly the n64 game, this will not do it. If you're looking for a weird ball platformer, this will do it.

Glover is the greatest game ever to be put onto the Earth. Every single time I have opened this game, regardless of the version, my entire body shudders in bliss. You MUST play this game before you die. If you don't, you'll be regretting it during your final moments. A true masterpiece of our time.

I'm not sure how one could fumble a Glover port of all things but here we are. Of course as a professional Glover Lover I can only give the GAME a thumbs up but the port feels rushed as all hell. Like i'd hate to know how this ♥♥♥♥ looked on release.

Personally, I forgot the entire game existed, I spent YEARS searching for this game, and like a month after this came to steam, I found it, and- the rest is history! I've been reunited with one of my favorite (AKA only) N64 game, ON MY AWESOME LAPTOP! I only write my review like... 3 years later since I forgot about the whole review feature lol. PS: I literally thought the player was some sorta whip cream guy or smth since I haven't seen the game in YEARS.

Hot garbage... it wasn't even this bad on original hardware... Look, I have a complicated history with this game. I was expecting Ocarina of Time for xmas and I ended up with Glover.

93% - Fantastic retro game from the 90's. Game is a lot of fun to relax and play. Simple mechanics and some good soundtracks. Game can be completed within a weekend and great to play with family.

WINDOWS VERSION: It was a good game, though there were spots with beyond awkward hitboxes that made it feel like luck as well as frequent crashes through the middle of the game. I can say I enjoyed it overall but I wouldn't recommend this to another lest they were a platformer fan as I am. PS1 VERSION: Despite the awkward D-Pad controls that are very difficult to get with, the game felt better control wise and was much more accommodating, especially in terms of accurate tips and tutorial. The adaption whilst also fun almost feels like an insult, a miserable spit in the face as to the love put into this version as it very clearly doesn't play the same and cards that were plenty reachable in this version are completely beyond normal reach without throwing the ball or just using it to jump in this version, which is something that isn't clearly explained to you in the windows version till a few worlds in.

[h1]Let's talk about a bad port:[/h1] [list] [*]Missing options and literally zero quality-of-life improvements. [*]Zero indication of whether the game actually saved or not. Just pray to God. [*]So many sound effects are either completely missing or cut off. [*]The game crashes constantly in some locations. Starting with Pirate Bonus Stage 3, you're playing every level with the constant fear of the game crashing. Very fitting for an already difficult game. The last time it crashed, I had to replay an entire world. Nice. [/list] The developer, Piko Interactive, is aware of the problems with this game, as stated on the store page below, and claims they're working on fixes. Don't expect much, though—the last update for Glover was in April 2025, according to SteamDB. Nostalgia convinced me to buy this game, and I thought the reviews were a bit too harsh. In my opinion, Glover is a great, short, although sometimes very difficult, game. But this port completely killed my interest in finishing it, which makes me sad. I really would have loved to play through the last two worlds, but I don't want to brute-force my way through crashes and potentially lose my progress. If you want to play Glover, do it through an emulator like Project64. [b]P.S.[/b] Thank God Piko Interactive put their name and their ♥♥♥♥♥♥ logo in the intro cutscene. Otherwise, someone who played this abomination of a port might have forgotten to avoid their future releases. Don't ruin good memories and nostalgia with a bad port. Either make a port, remaster, or remake properly, or don't make one at all. Go buy from Nightdive Studios instead.

The game is just the way you remember it on N64. One of the best N64 games out there. However, this is just a port so don't hope for much more than that. Few bugs here and there, nothing game breaking. Plus added achievements as well. Few hidden gems in the files however ;)
